Good morning!!!!

I guess many, if not most, of you have seen on the news the story of the young lady who opened her beauty shop/barber shop, in violation of the law, was sentenced to 7 days in jail, and instead got off free, got huge donations, so she got rich and famous off violating that law.

So my wife and I just got back from driving around Denton this morning; didn't stop or get out of the car anywhere, just went to see what's going on. All the grocery stores were very busy, as was Sam's Club. Most of the people we saw going into the Walmarts were wearing masks, but not the ones we saw going into Sam's Club. And I noticed at least one barber shop open. And I was a little surprised at the number of restaurants that were open. Many are still closed, of course, but many are also open. And as you would expect, there are also a number of places closed except for the drive-in window.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms out there. Miss mine, 18 years gone.

66°F and .40 inches rain. Beautiful sunny morning. Looks like I’ll get a couple hours to get mowing finished on the Hilo end of property.

A nice N.Y. strip seasoning in the fridge the way wife likes it. Will grill that, a sweet potato, maybe ear of corn for a nice early dinner later.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

50 degrees going for a calm and sunny 78 today.

I don't know how many people are involved in the business of selling/installing clear shields between cashiers and customers, but they sure must be making money. It seems that such are being installed everywhere.

Wonder if they are connected to the sign makers?

Well, beveling the lower hooks on the QH was successful!
I need to get some Rustoleam on the way home tomorrow to finish the job.
Still only in the lower 40's...doubt we see 50 (the forecast high) today. A bit breezy too...outdoor work is done, I'd say...

Really windy last night, today, and tonight.

Oldest son came up for a few days.

For my church live streaming, my son has been complaining the video lags the audio. I’ve just been using an IP security camera. I ended up ordering a really nice PTZ camera that supports NDI. I just discovered NDI a few weeks ago and am a big fan of it. It’s basically super compressed video over IP.
I got the new camera set up and tested at home last night, and today installed it at the church building on a tripod for now. It fixed the lag issue, has better zoom and is just fun to use.
I now use NDI to send ministers PowerPoint to my stream, and NDI to send our music to the stream, and NDI now for the video.
Tomorrow I have a new surprise for the viewers. I created an intro slideshow with a countdown timer till worship starts, and it plays music while they come online and wait.

Internet still dropping out periodically.

Too cold and windy to mow.

Might be heading to AR this week to get son’s college room stuff, and retrieve our Honda Pilot still there.

Oldest son’s windows laptop died last night. He ordered a new macbook today.

Laptop died? Did he lose everything? I have repaired my Dell a couple of times, and added memory. Much cheaper than new, but it is getting slower since the Win10 upgrade.

Our church team has been recording the services, finishing them up by Saturday morning. They said it takes 4-5 hours to upload to Youtube....and sometimes it hangs up. They also do Facebook. I will ask about the cameras to see if they are NDI. Thanks for the tip.

I don't know how many people are involved in the business of selling/installing clear shields between cashiers and customers, but they sure must be making money. It seems that such are being installed everywhere.

I have a friend in the plastic sales business, who called me the other night. Said he has been working like a dog selling/cutting plexiglass/lexan/polycarbonate/acrylic to stores and everywhere there are cashiers and such. He said he could get an order in of 600 sheets, and it'd be gone the next day. He's gotten the business of really large grocery store chains and more. Says he could sell more if he could get it and had more machines/help cutting it.

Maybe the birds changed their name after the Baltimore Orioles had such a bad couple of years in baseball. :)

LOL, I miss baseball so much right now, I'd even watch the Orioles if they were the only team playing.... :)

So, can anyone tell me where the geographic line is drawn between the Oriole fans and the National fans??? Surely they have a demilitarized zone.

I finished a great book of an American hero behind the scenes. Clarence (Kelly) Johnson, chief engineer at Lockheed's skunk works. He turned down the company president job 3 times. This book was an auto biography. I have read a book on the skunk works before, and it was good.

Now reading a book by Lew Jennings, a Vietnam Cobra pilot, called "19 Minutes to Live". He over explains some things, which will bore some with some knowledge, but still a good read so far.

60F and partly cloudy @ 17:15.

Under a "Severe Storm Risk" alert until 08:00 Monday morning. There's a big bow wave of an approaching cold front about 40 miles west of here. From the look of it, we might thread the needle with the worst of any severe weather going to the north and south of us. Of course, it could also intensify and we could get slammed. Should know within the next hour or so.

Earlier, the deer here decided to chill and hang out for a while - while practicing good physical distancing:

Looking forward to the warm weather that's on the horizon ...

Hope everyone is having an enjoyable and safe Mother's Day.

Cooked a huge pyrex full of chicken, veggies,(similar to a chicken pot pie), with drop garlic cheese biscuits for Mom's day.

Also a large dewberry cobbler.

Came out half decent if I say so myself.

Saw an eagle on way to worship this morning. It had caught something and was on the ground with it.

Beautiful day.

Picked up takeout from a favorite restaurant near Gettysburg. Ordered it a week ago. Broasted chicken, pork, crab imperial, potatoes, broccoli, corn fritters, and apple crisp.
Then installed the suspension system on the ZT mower. Had to raise the sticks with the seat higher. The suspension did help, I mowed half, then youngest son came out to take over.
Then I shot drone video of him mowing.
Neighbor walked over, showed him the drone. He said “I need one to check the cows”. One of his 2 yo grand daughters enjoyed watching the drone fly.
Son went home, will come tomorrow and we will leave early Tuesday.

Lots of pretty birds around the house lately, blue bird, red headed woodpecker, red bellied woodpecker, others I don’t know. Can’t get a good pic with cell phone.
Now to catch up on tbn.IMG_4444.JPG

One lady from the neighborhood was released from the hospital yesterday. She had been hospitalized since March 21 with the covid19 and was on the ventilator 10 days.

Also found out today our niece and her husband will have a covid19 lockdown child in 8 months.
I suggested the name Mona Corona if it’s a girl.

Made some Blackbean brownies for mom for Mother’s Day.

.

He moved everything to a new desktop computer a while back, and had reloaded the laptop from scratch, so didn’t have much on it.

New church camera really nice video. We stream live. People liked the slide show while waiting for the service to start. FB didnt like the music I played during the slide show. It was music by the kids college chorus. FB is muting it.

Streamed our church service last night, so spent today doing what Ellen wanted. Also made a recycling run. Then I oven fried chicken and fries, salad to go go with. Then we went for a nice long ride, Gracie as usual, slept through it.
Talked to my older brother, he’s recovering from double pneumonia, negative for Covid.
Couldn’t FaceTime mom today so I will try tomorrow.

Got down to 29 this morning and was below freezing for more than three hours. I think the flowers survived. Supposed to in the 80’s by later this week.

Ocean City opened the boardwalk and beach this weekend, but the weather and the fact the hotels and rentals are closed, kept the crowd down.

We are planning to start on the El Camino tomorrow, will need to mow in the next couple of days also.

Hummingbirds showed up a couple of weeks ago, sat on the deck and watched finches, a red headed woodpecker, buzzards soaring, an eagle passed over, and hundreds of other birds singing, one rabbit grazing in back. Found a mole the cats had dug up and undoubtedly played with until he died.

Have a good night guys. God Bless.

Got mowing about half done before I smoked the slip clutch. My fault as I was sensing maybe a bit loose, but I figured I’d finish mowing first then adjust. Nope. Caught a big tangle of heavy stuff, lifting deck wasn’t enough to disengage. Actually think I saw a piece of the clutch disc fly. When I stopped PTO, very visible gap and bolts loose. Back to the shed.
Thought I’d take 10 before repairing, but friend called that he was just minutes away from being here to pick up stuff I was lending him. An hour and half later I passed off the items up at the gate. Totally messed with my time planning.
Wife really enjoyed her steak and sweet potato (as did I). Had a fresh made salad instead of corn. 2 glasses of wine and my motivation to mow was sapped. FT calls from relatives sealed it - no more mowing today.
Enjoyed rest of afternoon losing Hand & Foot to wife.
In balance a great day.

Good morning, the temp is 27°F and going to 41. Wind NNE 11 mph. Looks like it is going to be sunny after the clouds leave.

Neighbour ladies' trees are moved. I skidded them down the road with the near end chained to the BH.

I am not sure what I will get up to today. I do have a horn that needs installing, and a lighter socket/power tap too.

Have a safe day all

Good morning all. If I hadn't looked at the thermometer and listened to the forecaster revealing how far this wind has come, I wouldn't have expected it to be quite so cold when I stepped out into the sunshine. It dropped to -2C/28F last night. My wife heard this arctic air was coming and started moving plants yesterday, now half the contents of her greenhouse are sharing the house with us.

RNG, good to see your genny in place. A lot of cost and effort, but must be very satisfying to finally see all your plans for a reliable electric supply really start to come together.

BEF, when does a lawn become a prairie ? :) Maybe one day you will have a herd of autonomous electric robot mowers to graze your grass while you sit in the shade to watch and think back on the days when you rode your own metal bison.
