Really windy last night, today, and tonight.

Oldest son came up for a few days.

For my church live streaming, my son has been complaining the video lags the audio. I’ve just been using an IP security camera. I ended up ordering a really nice PTZ camera that supports NDI. I just discovered NDI a few weeks ago and am a big fan of it. It’s basically super compressed video over IP.
I got the new camera set up and tested at home last night, and today installed it at the church building on a tripod for now. It fixed the lag issue, has better zoom and is just fun to use.
I now use NDI to send ministers PowerPoint to my stream, and NDI to send our music to the stream, and NDI now for the video.
Tomorrow I have a new surprise for the viewers. I created an intro slideshow with a countdown timer till worship starts, and it plays music while they come online and wait.

Internet still dropping out periodically.

Too cold and windy to mow.

Might be heading to AR this week to get son’s college room stuff, and retrieve our Honda Pilot still there.

Oldest son’s windows laptop died last night. He ordered a new macbook today.

Good morning, no snow here, although a change to colder times looks to be on it's way. The sky has clouded over and the wind is up, revealing the fresh green underside of the new leaves on trees. So far the hawthorn is managing to hold on to it's creamy white blossom, forecast says the weather is set to play tug of war with it all day long.

I don't think people are too good at this social distancing thing. I was out mowing at the farm and saw a neighbor and his dad. It seemed rude not to stop and say hello. Dad had to keep telling his son to step back. I don't think it is natural. An older gentleman who was delivering Mothers day flowers rang the door bell and I almost opened the door until I remembered and asked him to leave them outside. We still have the virus spreading around our county. I need to get better at this stuff.

Chris, you are right, keeping distance is not an easy thing.

In historic times some people were much better at containing deadly infections. At school we learned about a village called Eyam, which went into a self imposed quarantine in 1665 to contain the plague. Many within the village died, but they stopped it from being passed on to others. Wonder if they would have been as successful if they had a Home Depot store to tempt them away from home ?

Why is Eyam Significant? - Historic UK

34 right now...high about 50 today.

I'll do the grinding I put off from yesterday, once it warms up a bit. Then laundry...

50 degrees going for a calm and sunny 78 today.

I don't know how many people are involved in the business of selling/installing clear shields between cashiers and customers, but they sure must be making money. It seems that such are being installed everywhere.

Coffee is brewing. 41° with light rain this morning. Heading to 56° with light rain most of the day. Nothing got done yesterday. Dogs are happy. Lots of attention. Need a trip to Menards this morning. Everyone has to have a mask on.
Baltimore Oriole. Now called a Northern Oriole I have been told on another forum. :confused3:
View attachment 654736.

Bird, now there will be a shortage of Lexan.

Roy, hope only a little grinding is needed.

Buckeye, hope you have a safe trip to AR this week.

Don, where do you find a good quality cabinet nowadays? We do have a kitchen and bath cabinet company here. But nothing for under $100 How about Habitat for Humanity store?

Drew, hope you are getting better.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All.

Have you looked into the Tapatalk app? That what I use on iPhone and iPad to interface TBN, TNT, Welding Site and a number of others. Polaris Ranger, Corvette, PowerStroke, Woodworking, etc.

Thanks. Yep, I use it, too, on my android, but most times use the laptop.

Of course, haven't seen the problem again since I mentioned it.

31 this morning with heavy frost and hard ice in the bird baths...like early March. Global cooling is back, like in the 1970s, probably because the ozone hole filled back in.

Hope all the mothers have a special Mother's Day! I'm sure many will have to do "visit" with their children from a distance.

Happy Mothers' Day all you mothers, the temp is 29°F and going up to 43. Wind WNW 11 mph. Mainly cloudy.

I almost forgot, we had a south Georgia blizzard last night, left 1/4" of snow on the lawn for this morning.

Today I have to skid some cut up trees (30' each) over to the neighbours' place. She couldn't tell me about that when there was lots of snow on the road. So now I need the garden wagon to carry one end. I will carry the other end with the 'hoe.

That is my day mapped out. I will try and get a sound clip of the new exhaust.

Have a safe and healthy day all

Good Morning. It's a beautiful 52° with a clear sky and a light 2 mph wind this morning. Our high is forecast for 80° this afternoon.

Happy Mother's Day to all your Mothers today and everyday. Mine is buried in the Veteran's Cemetery East of Des Moines .. right beside my Dad. She was US Navy .. Dad was US Army. Neither quite figured out me and my two younger brothers all going US Air Force. They were both glad we served though and told us so often.

Our winds abated enough to get another brush pile, mostly cut yaupon, lit yesterday afternoon.

Not sure what today will bring .. I'll just take it easy mostly. I usually do tractor maintenance on Sundays but .. got most of that done earlier in the week.

Our deer are finally bringing their fawns out from the brushy area, at the back of the ranch where they usually hide out this time of year. I saw our first set of twins for the year about a week ago. We had three sets of twins here last year.

Our hummingbirds finally arrived so .. I got the feeders out and hung on the east porch for them. I think I mentioned that one was trying to land on my red baseball cap about a week ago.

Enjoy your day .. stay safe and healthy.

Prayers to all.

Kinda like the "noise" you hear your truck making .. until you get to the dealer and it goes away.

46 outside this AM. Heading to mid 60's. Had the wood stove going last night. Wind just carried the chill right through me while working outside all day. Wife ended up moving the last of our cedar logs out of the pasture. And a pleasant surprise as the gold Brothers finally showed.

Have a good day all. Be safe.20200509_150336.jpeg20200509_125937.jpeg

Good morning to all! Low of 42, going for a high of 75. Chances of T-storms increase this afternoon, better chances tomorrow.

I worked with my son all day yesterday trimming the garage.... got it completed. He has a little bit of paint to do.

Today I need to make a dump run, then maybe get to do the section of drip irrigation needing to be done. I got the supplies, but never got to do it. Never even took the supplies out of the truck yet!

Thomas, that is a lot of wood to stack! Who needs to pay to go to a gym?

Rip, nice pics! Good choices... pretty birds and a nice tractor! Have you been allowed to drive it yet?

Everyone have a great day!

Good Morning!!!! 66F @ 6:15AM. Sun and clouds mixed. High 88F. Winds S at 10 to 20 mph.

Glad not to hear of any new snow back east, here we're headed into a cooling trend and rain Monday night.
Glad you didn't need more than a half inch on that yardstick you used to measure your snow depth, Jay!

Those Home Depot/Ikea cabinets may look nice, Don, but they're just another case of "they sure don't make 'em like they used to", huh? :muttering:

With so few CoVid cases in this county, most people are outright revolting about social distancing and stay-at-home. Lots of masks in Trader Joes, where health conscious people like to shop, almost none in HD. The governor is threatening to withhold disaster funding from counties that are re-opening faster than he thinks is safe, but I don't think that'll slow 'em down any. I just hope there is now enough testing available to spot new flair ups in the disease.

No sign of the National Guard T38s yesterday; I guess they just didn't come this far north. That or the hammer drill was making too much racket for me to notice them.:confused3:

Enjoyed Jeff's last video, Ted. Tell him thanks, and keep 'em comin'!

Managed to get the generator mounted on the pad yesterday, but not before "customizing" some of the plastic partitions inside it, and trimming the length of the conduits sticking up from the pad. Also found that the bulldozer neighbor returned the hammer drill with a totally boogered up 5/8" drill, the size I needed for the anchors I was using for the generator. I don't mind if people break stuff, but they need to replace it. So no more tool loan outs; the body shop guy busted a gear puller I loaned him last week, but at least he said he was sorry. Anyway, I had a slightly larger drill bit that I ground down to make work, but I had to put the green grinding stone on the bench grinder and then dress it, so big mess in the garage now. The chuck on the hammer drill has never been good at staying tight, but now in only a few seconds I had to stop and tighten it. It's partly because when it gets loose it scores up the drill bit shaft, which leaves less gripping area, which makes it come loose sooner, a vicious circle. But this particular chuck has always been stiff, a cheap Chinese knockoff on a Milwaukee brand tool that I thought I got a good price on. Anyway, got four anchors in, but only two would line up with the base on the generator. I'd used the wooden pallet as a pattern, but then realized that the holes in the 4x6 lumber it was made from were drilled crooked, so two of the holes were off. So I had to scoot the generator over with the tractor, drill two new holes, then scoot it back. So what should have been a simple job ended up taking all day. And at the end, I only had two bolts "in stock" that would fit, and the unevenness of the concrete means I need some extra washers to fill some gaps, so tomorrow I'll stop by a hardware store or Tractor Supply for some.

Today I'll start installing the solar panel rack parts on the posts. Lots of lifting and hauling work for the tractor, and for me, but I think it'll be interesting work, if not a little tedious at times. I guess I'll see.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend, and their Mother's Day.

I wouldn't consider burning wood but the Mrs. likes enjoys the type of heat it gives.

A Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers out there.

A cloudy 32ºF for today's low temperature. *A mix of sun and clouds and 43ºF presently with increasing wind. *Reported wind presently = 5 mph gusting to 22 mph. *I anticipate increasing wind and a mixed sun and clouds afternoon with an afternoon high temperature ~50ºF.

Chris- Welcome to GM. I agree. We are social creatures and we are hardwired to be socially/interpersonally/physically close with direct personal physical contact.

Mike- We have Goldfinches year round here. Our last large flock counted together was 16 at the feeders on 5.06; since then counts have been consistently down to be between 7 and 10 birds. Nice pictures as well. Thanks for sharing

“… The yellow finches have been here for a while very greedy at the bird feeder”- Buppies I agree. Sometimes in early Spring they seem to spend more time fighting than eating.

RNG- I am sorry to read about the return condition of the tools that you lent out. Good luck with the installation of the solar panel frame. It will be like working on an adult person version of an an Erector Set®.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.
