59 going to 64, waiting for the heavy rains to hit here, flood watch etc. I built a 150 foot long swale, so far it's holding these downpours.
Seems like we get them once a month now instead of once a decade

Condolences about the horse riptides
Drew, feel better
RNG, that van looks really nice.

Stay well and be safe. No outside work for today

Riptides, sorry for your family's loss of an old friend.

After two calls to my farm diesel supplier, and the same miserable service, no return call, I gave up, cancelled my order and my six year business with them and called a place even closer. They picked up the phone immediately, were really pleasant to deal with, gave me a date next week to plan on, told me they'd come as last stop to keep weight of truck down, as they have to run over a section of my front lawn down a ways to get back to barn. Plus...$1.09 for farm diesel, 30 cents less per gallon than other company charged. Amazingly low price.
Good time to stock up, sure made my day.

Morning to all today;
45 degrees out now wind blowing and misty rain, just a blustery sour day.
Was going to let the coal fire go out but looking at the forecast guess I'll bring another half dozen bags up to the house and keep it lite.
Got my fuel delivery today $1.20 a gallon almost 800 gallons for the house and a bit over 200 gallons in the tractor tanks, 1077 gallons today.
We will have to see if filling now was the right call or if waiting till July/August would have been better.

Every one stay safe and healthy.

Good morning! 69˚F earlier heading to the mid 80s lots of sunshine.

A bit of excitement yesterday as the FD ladder truck pulled up in front of my house and the ambulance behind it in front on my neighbors house.
My next door neighbor was a victim of covid-19.
She does NOT have the virus but because of the hospitals reserving space and delaying procedures and test she slowly got sicker and sicker and collapsed yesterday. She had lost 30 pounds the last few weeks and was dehydrated. She is about our age. They will not let her husband visit her. Now they are finally trying to diagnose her in a timely manner.

We have had 293 cases in the county and 41 that ever required hospitalization and only 11 currently are in the hospital. Over half, 169, have recovered and only 8 deaths. We have several large hospitals in the area with over 891 beds. I have heard that there are more people dying because of delayed other treatments than from covid19.

RNG, you should be below the frost line at 5'.:D

The North Bay trip was as usual, uneventful. Got everything I went for including fuel at $0.739/L or $2.79 CDN/US gallon. That is the cheapest I've seen it in many years. That was also res gas.

Good morning to all! It is still morning right?

Had a little issue here this morning, so late posting.....

RIP, Sorry to hear about your horse, always hard to say goodbye.

Drew, hope you feel better and maybe the lab tests will reveal a cause and solution.

RNG, thanks for the video... at first I thought you were going over to lift the WHOLE VAN in a show of brute force!
Then I saw the pallet in the van...whew! Glad the BH has exceeded your expectations!

Porch roof is OFFICIALLY COMPLETE! Now to do the porch railings.... see how I did that? They are technically separate.... roof up high, railings down low... 2 separate projects.... I have not figured out an excuse for the landscape timbers.... give me a bit to figure out that one

I am surprised at our gas prices here. They seemed to drop quickly, but stopped before they got as low as some you guys are posting. Regular stations are at $1.58, Costco has been staying at $1.20. Propane has really dropped, diesel is still up there at $2.89.... cannot figure it out.

I think I am going to work on the landscape timbers.... no wait.... maybe the railing.... wait...

Funny you should mention propane, Ted. Just got the bill for filling the 1150 gallon tank. 927.8 gallons at $2.11/gallon. I think I've heard much lower propane prices elsewhere in the country, but it doesn't surprise me that it would cost more out here. Everything else does, too.:smiley_aafz:

Still, the feeling of security I get from that full tank is priceless. Be even better when the genny and rest of the solar power system is hooked up.

Speaking of procrastinating, I should be riding that backhoe right now. That trench isn't going to get done all by itself...
