RNG- I had to line the inside of my dome with copper foil to prevent GPS signal interference from my flight controller, and video transmitter. The DJI engineers probably designed the setup of the "innards" to minimize internal components' signal interference. I actually had more problems with transmitter radio signal interference from multiplexing, my WIFI router my PWS radio signal and roadside powerlines which I do not think would mess with GPS.

Good morning! 69˚F earlier heading to the mid 80s lots of sunshine.

A bit of excitement yesterday as the FD ladder truck pulled up in front of my house and the ambulance behind it in front on my neighbors house.
My next door neighbor was a victim of covid-19.
She does NOT have the virus but because of the hospitals reserving space and delaying procedures and test she slowly got sicker and sicker and collapsed yesterday. She had lost 30 pounds the last few weeks and was dehydrated. She is about our age. They will not let her husband visit her. Now they are finally trying to diagnose her in a timely manner.

We have had 293 cases in the county and 41 that ever required hospitalization and only 11 currently are in the hospital. Over half, 169, have recovered and only 8 deaths. We have several large hospitals in the area with over 891 beds. I have heard that there are more people dying because of delayed other treatments than from covid19.

Naturally, we hope we don't get it, but I figure if my wife and/or I get the virus, we'll most likely just die, and quite possibly here at home.

My Sister in law sent a picture of FIL that they got by FaceTime with a nurse. He’s still not very responsive, surgeon had to go back in yesterday because of new fluid buildup on the brain. He has quite the stitches across his head.

Evening all.

50F and cloudy @ 18:00, radar shows a line of precipitation approaching from the west but WB says ZERO percent chance of rain for the next few hours ... :confused2:

Definitely had some rain earlier while I was sleeping.

Redbud and magnolia trees finally starting to bloom ...

rip, sorry for you guys' loss with the horse. 2x on the coffee brewing.

Drew, hope you get things sorted out and feel better soon.

toppop, bleeding is a feature of life here on a regular basis ... doesn't take much and I'm bleeding profusely ... usually stops within 10 to 15 minutes though. Better that than a heart attack or a stroke.

Bird, same here ... was very disappointed when I was at the grocery the other day to see that not all of their employees were wearing masks.

Hope everyone is doing better and staying safe.

I wasn’t planning to fly drone yesterday because of the wind, but I thought maybe a liftoff then set it back down. But first it had to do a software update.

But once it was up, had to fly a little. After I shut first video off, I was watching the screen and almost flew it right into the porch. Didn’t go too high because of wind. Then I forgot to hit RTH, and just hit the land button. I thought it would go to takeoff spot then land, good thing I was over grass.

Can’t wait to fly it again.

Never too old for a learning experience

Mostly- thanks for asking, the horse had to be put down day before yesterday. She had been with us for over twenty years, so the wife and daughter took it really hard. She was our first one, that started us on the path to where we are now. Flat land and wide open pastures. I had been caring for her in her last few days, something was not right, so she got a lot of attention and special front pasture walks. I put in some miles walking her those past few days. We called in the vet and the wife made the tough call. We then called in a friend and I had picked out a nice spot on the back pasture overlooking the trees and creeks to one side and the wide open front for her. Said a nice prayer, shed a lot of tears, and went and got her friends for last respects. Her buddy of also almost 20 years just stood over her for a really long time, the others just sniffed and turned. And that was that...

I mowed all of the farm yesterday, just to let out some stress and not think about anything other than keeping the lines straight. Started in the back with the tractor, ended up in the front with the ZTR 5 hours later. I knew my ZTR gulps gas, and I went through 5 gallons rather quickly. I need to check up on that.

On the drone front, I had a cheapo model a year or two back. One of the motors gave out so I returned it. A lot of computer, push button flight. Not like the r/c hangar queens I have. I cut my teeth on line flight and advanced to r/c when I could afford it. Since I did not have anyone to train me, I had a lot of micro-flight and mishaps with the ground. Now-a-days I walk up to the airport when I hear the guys out there with their "model" jets. Yeah, cannot afford those.

Hope all have a good day. Be safe.

Truly sorry for your horse and your family's grief. I understand getting on a mower to wind down.

Today's humor:
During the quarantine, I've learned about myself...that my 3 favorite hobbies are:
1. Eating at restaurants
2. Going to non-essential businesses
3. Touching my face.

My favorites:
1) touching face
2) Finally watched first season Jack Ryan. A bit overdone, but good. might start on 2nd season
3) curbside shopping/shopping from home

things I don't like:
1) don't like single ply TP (you have to pull hard and fast, like checking the spark on a Briggs & Stratton with the spark plug out...)
2) having to "gown up" to leave my shop or go into a store.
3) eating too much....

That would be me, personally. LOL.

I have an old hand grinder, and a plastic funnel for number 4 filters.

My girls scream when they see it. Call me old.

That’s biblical coffee.

HeBrews

thanks for the chuckle guys.

Naturally, we hope we don't get it, but I figure if my wife and/or I get the virus, we'll most likely just die, and quite possibly here at home.
Bird, be careful. My mom is 90, and she's starting to want to get out.

Ron, nice pics. Be careful up there.

Randy, hope you get it to stop bleeding.

It's really sad when touching one's face is far worse than touching places where the sun rarely if ever shines.

I was happy to touch this. Grilled between the weather fronts. Rare-Medium rare by touch. We may not see steak cuts like this for a lon time

This experience may be reminiscent out of a scene in "Soylent Green."

We had a 49 mph gust ahead of the front and about an inch of rain according to gauge.

Seem to have the bleeding under control with a pressure bandage.
Boy it looks ugly.

Keep the drone videos coming.

That’s good to hear, Randy.

Now if only Drew had a good report.

Good evening all. 52F for the start, sunny, light breeze. Expecting more wind did not go fish, but worked on north gable. Had already start started before the "before" pic, but you can see how much just brooming the siding helped. Did get vinegar on where most of the mildew was, vinegar is supposed to ruin mildew's day. Gable was my project for day, need gas run and get mower blade sharpened and oil changed also.
Cooke county now has 3 active and 6 recovered cases, Montague unchanged, Grayson up to 32 case, recovered ?
Hawkeye, always nice to have second set of hands
Roy, glad to hear trip went well.
Drew hope they can find your health issue. Could use some rain here.
Mike sorry to hear about horse, prayers for you and family. 5 gal sounds like a lot of gas in zturn
Ron and your neighbor barely moved when you landed.
Billy enjoyed your humor
Bill hope shopping went well.
RNG i think you are going to like the new tractor.
Drew hope new supplier works out.
Lou that is a lot of fuel oil
Don hate to hear stories like your neighbor. and people don't want to talk about changes. Costco decaf comes in metal can.
Ted, hope issue nor serious, hope you can get something done. :)
David good to hear shopping went well.
Jay it is amazing how much r/c aircraft have come since I started flying 40 years ago.
Buckeye sorry to hear about FIL hope they get a handle on him soon
Randy sorry to hear about your elbow. Blood thinners from valve work?
Jay thanks for link.
RS gotta wonder what the weather guessers are thinking some times. :confused3:
Jay beautiful steaks
prayers for all
stay safe and healthy

Good morning all, exactly same temperature out as Roy, toasty inside the house thanks to last night's hawthorn embers still glowing red in the woodburner. Had to start wearing a jacket again these last few days but the upside was enough cloud to venture out without sunscreen and just enough rain to once more turn the soil dark brown.

With delivery companies still swamped, it has taken the best part of a week to get a usb wifi adaptor, something that in BC times would have arrived the next day. In the meantime I could have sat in my wife's craft room and set up a new user account for her computer, instead I opted to minimise the risk of being punctured by pins and took a few days break from the internet and added an hour or possibly more to each day - a good lesson to me for the future.

The cattle muck that was spread a couple of weeks back needs harrowing today while still moist to break up the clumps, I need to ration myself to 10 minutes of catching up on TBN then get out, which almost certainly means I will have to skip a good amount and concentrate mostly on mostly's always excellent summaries, I'm sure he would notice if anyone had grown an extra head or anything over the last week. Actually I am almost too scared to look, a week ago there were posts about meat processing plants, now Jay is talking of Soylent Green  . Don, until food is plentiful again, maybe best keep quiet about your body being entirely plant based :eek: :D

54 and looks like rain is ending for a while. Going to 63.

In addition to our mail yesterday, we got two neighbors' mail. I guess they are subbing out delivery duty. :)

Today's Quarantine humor (special Sodamo edition):

Hormel made their first batch of Spam in 1937.
The company has just announced that due to hoarding by consumers,
they are going to make a second batch.

About 55 outside this AM. Heading to mid 60's...rain..and rain..

Thank you all for your kind words and condolences. It's been a hard week, but plenty of good memories. And I chuckle as I type, you see that horse broke some fingers way back when, trying to get her to load. On rainy days, they ache. And I just popped one. Giddy up! On a side note, looks like we will be donating her feeds to a rescue group in the coming days. Her condition sort of forced us into a special diet for the past year or so. We had just ordered her restock of feeds and whatnot. The company politely declined to take it back for a refund, and we are OK with that. It will go to a better cause.

On a more personal side note, well the virus has impacted our family some more. Daughter was exposed working in the ER to a patient and is now on mandatory lock down. I asked how that could happen with PPE and what not, seems the patient started displaying symptoms after the ER visit while they were hospitalized for something else. Days later. Well, at least the tracking part worked. Sigh.

We ordered take out last night from a local restaurant. Trying to treat ourselves. Called it in, pull up to locked door. Delivered by mask and gloves. Home.
That was good.

Need to start thinking about groceries stocks again. Local bakery we frequented has started stocking dairy products and consumables for baking your own. Smart move. Same delivery concept. All web based and curb side pickup.

The new normal I am thinking.

Hope all have a good day. Thanks again for the kind thoughts. Be safe,
