47 and sunny. No wind! Going to 79.

Buppies, your work looks like a professional job. With all this rain coming, glad you have straw down.

Rip, until I built a small shelter, I used to tarp my tractor every day. That got old.

Our grocery store pickup went well...got most everything, a few substitutions...for example, they didn't have any 25 oz bags of frozen chicken, so they gave us 40 oz instead. Since we ordered 2 bags, we got 80 oz instead of 50 oz for the same price. Only problem was finding freezer space. First time we received TP on an order, although they substituted a brand that didn't have a name on it...just said Toilet Paper.

Poured first cup of coffee. 52° with light rain this morning. Heading to 64° with rain most of the day. Felt good to get my first flight in with drone. After moving neighbors pile of wood chips. I took drone over to show them how well it worked. Lots of flowers and decorations there. Got a good video. But have to post it yet. Still need to work on smoothness of some motions. Off to do some grocery shopping today. Then Menards. I think I got this going shopping at stores with protection.
Deer is sidefield.

David, sure hope they come up with a plan for Sophie's eye. Going to interesting to see what kind of crowds I run into today while shopping.

RNG, I do not know where I got the 17' length BH. But 14' looks very impressive. Thanks for your original Drone post. I am very happy with my purchase.

Roy, have a safe trip.

Looking, I keep getting those no get up and go days. Sure wish someone would come up with a cure.

Mostly, me mentioning gas prices must have someone thing that it was 2 low. $1.049 this morning.

Buckeye, hope you get Dads VA straightened out. My video does not show other side of barns. Not a mess but does need some care.

Eric, still lost in the internet.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

Agree. Still recovering from building the last outbuilding which end up fairly large.

I will need at least 18x24.....but just don't have the desire to take on another project right now.

Sigh....need to get motivated.

63 degrees this morning going for a high of 74. Yesterday, the NWS said a 90% chance of rain last night. I went to bed early, but got up at 11 p.m. to watch the most spectacular and longest lightning show I've seen in a long, long time. I didn't hear any thunder (didn't have my hearing aids in) but I finally went out on the patio and sat and watched the show for 45 minutes before I went back to bed. I could tell that it had rained some and this morning I dumped a little more than a quarter inch of rain out of the gauge.

Big rains yesterday eve and overnight. My rain gauge busted the glass, so I need a new one. Two inches, I'm guessing. This HAS to be the longest thread I've ever been involved with...

Good Morning! 62 wind from North. The front blew in at 4am with lots of thunder and an inch of rain.
We are in a holding pattern waiting for word from the park letting us know if it’s too wet to work this morning.

Still need to work on smoothness of some motions.

The Mini supports three flight modes, Ron. Cinema mode slows down the time the drone takes to respond to pushes on the joysticks, and I've found it helpful when recording video. If I remember correctly, it is accessed by hitting the circle with a letter in it at the upper left hand corner of the GoFly app. Default mode is Performance, so that circle will probably have a P in it. There's also a Sport mode that offers faster speeds and faster reaction times. Could be useful if combating a stiff wind to get the drone home, but I won't fly in anything stronger than a light breeze, so I leave that one alone.

Good Morning!!!! 66F @ 6:00AM. Partly cloudy skies this morning will become overcast during the afternoon. High 86F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.
Yesterday's high was 88F, warmest it's been all year. Time to get readjusted to warmer temps; shorts felt good and will again today, too. Chance of rain Sunday, but only a few hundredths of an inch are predicted.

:welcome: gstrom99! Did you try to read all of this thread from the beginning?:laughing:

I'm not sure what I'd call the feeling I have for that new tractor at this point, Wng. We got off to a little bit of a rough start with the air filter fiasco, and I'm still pretty nervous driving the thing around. There's a lot to keep track of there, and I need some practice before I tackle the hills around here. Pretty sure that 'hoe on the back will make it extra tippy on side hills, too, so extra caution is the order of the day.

Glad you like the drone, Ron. Always nice when a recommendation works out, not so much when it doesn't.:ashamed:

Got the engine oil changed in the tractor yesterday, and really liked the way I could prop the long funnel up with the FEL boom on that side and it stayed in place all by itself while I poured. Took just shy of two gallons to fill it. The package of filters from Messick's came while I was pressure washing it. I didn't know when I placed the order that this tractor takes two of those sixty-five dollar HST filters, and there was only one in the box.:banghead: Still need operator's and shop manuals, so I'll tack the missing filter onto that order. The paint is getting a little chalky on the tractor from sitting outside, and I'm thinking about putting one of those ceramic paint dressings on it. Also thinking about getting a tarp for it, but also don't like the idea of fooling with a tarp every time I want to use it.

While pressure washing, the intake nozzle from the air cleaner housing blew out from under the radiator. No wonder the tractor wouldn't run with the cap on the housing; I'd mistakenly taped over the intake hole!. Trimmed a little metal off the patch where the nozzle mounted and duct taped it back on, and now the tractor starts and runs fine. A new housing isn't available separately, and the whole assembly is $365. But that includes $115 worth of new filters, so that takes some of the sting out. That next Messick's order is gonna be a doozy, though.

Still need to check tire pressure and wheel bolt torque this morning, then I think I'll try it out on one of the stumps around here. That'll be a good warmup for finishing that trench, and I'll get to see what's involved with swapping the quick change out on the bucket. Ran the grease gun over it yesterday, too, but on reviewing the operator's manual it looks like I missed a couple fittings. The quick attach on the old tractor has always been stiff, and the one on this new tractor has zerk fittings to prevent that. Nice touch.

Sheesh, it's already Hump Day!:confused2:

31 right now...high in the low 60's today.
Heading to Connecticut this morning to deliver a tool and parts to a supplier. I'm a Quality Engineer and delivery is not usually my function...but our truck driver is out and I do have a truck. Shouldn't take more then 5-6 hours for the round trip...

That actually sounds like a fun, get out of the office day.
I’ve been practicing get out of the office for 6 weeks now.

I called Home Hardware yesterday looking for a steel drum roller 24"d x 48" long.
...
It is a hollow steel drum with a removable bung for filling with the liquid of your choice

So every trip around the yard, you stop and pour you a drink?

54°F and intermittent rain this morning, going up to 57° today.

Wife and I were getting ready to go to bed last night when our phones started going nuts with alerts. We'd been watching the storm front getting closer, and had planned to lay in bed and watch the light show through the windows. One of the alerts was a tornado warning. I hesitated a bit, thinking that we get warnings now even if there is a tornado in an adjacent county. After looking outside again, we decided to head to the basement. We turned on the television to a local news station to see them talking about heavy rotation between Highland and Trenton. That's us! When they zoomed in on the radar, it was moving right along the Madison/Clinton County line, which is about a mile north of us. It was moving east at 40mph, so it passed quickly. When I left for work this morning, I took the northern route to drive through there. I saw a bunch of trees down, with one against the front of a farm house just about a 1/4 mile north of the county line, and one barn further north and east that had some significant damage to the roof and at least one wall. Most of the damage I saw seemed to be in and east of the St. Morgan area. Nothing too serious, but a lot of chainsaws will be buzzing today.

Speaking of chain saws ... I called the Harbor Freight store in North St. Louis County yesterday afternoon, and a kind young fella there checked and told me they had a few of the Lynxx 40v chainsaws in stock there. So, I swung by there after work to pick one up. When I got there, there were none on the shelf, so I asked one of the guys at the checkout counter. He asked if I'd called earlier, and when I said yes, he turned around and picked one up sitting on the counter behind him, which he'd set aside for me. Very cool. Used the coupon from the HF coupon database to get it for $149. I also noticed that they'd rearranged that store since the last time I was there. All the isle are now running sideways, and they've clearly acquired some more space next to them, as the place is huge now.

I also stopped at Walmart in Highland on the way home to pick up some fruit and bread at The Wife's request. Since they never have any of the smaller carts inside anymore, I always grab one from outside on my way in. They had them all strapped together, so I loosened the strap and took the first one from the stack. When I pushed it in the front door, there was a guy in there disinfecting the full-size carts. He stopped and gave me the most entertaining sneer I've seen in a long time. I smiled and went inside. Found everything I was there for, and left through the same door, with the same guy still sneering at me. I smiled and nodded to him, and out I went. After loading my stuff in the car, I took the cart back to where I got it, and noticed they'd re-strapped the other carts together again. I understood why they were not taking the smaller carts inside during the holiday shopping season, but I'll never understand why they are continuing to do it in April.

Welcome to the GM thread, gstrom99.

Looks like RNGs pic is poking someone's eye out. My doctors at John's Hopkins may like a word with that operator.
