View attachment 653113View attachment 653112View attachment 653111A very productive day, after the grooming runs, wifey got a chance to run into Walmart and get a few things she wanted. Then, I managed to get the metal on the porch roof with the help of my neighbor, got it all screwed down. Still need to put on the gable trim and some flashing, but that is the easy part. Then need to wrap the beam and get the posts / beam painted. Next couple days will see it completed.

Golly, was feeling pretty good about the day and then I come here and feel like a slacker - again.

Looks great.

Good trip to PO, not only the stuff I expected, but stuff in limbo as well.

Got the new clutch discs and springs to rebuild mower slip clutch. Need to pick up new bolts.

Soil test kit arrived inspite of being listed as possibly lost. Took 4 samples but have to dry them out and remove the organic stuff before I can test. Put them in oven with just the pilot light.

My seed order from the university seed lab arrived. Hope to start getting some in by end of week. These are developed by University of Hawaii specific to area. Really looking forward to the corn.

Also got my hydroponics fertilizer. Hope to be growing lettuce etc hydroponic style which I did years ago, but not recently with our rat lung disease/slug problem, but I think I have it figured out, just need a few more items.

Good evening all. Sunday, sunny, 60F, light wind. Moderate wind gusty at times, mostly sunny all day, high 74F. Today 64F for stat, mostly sunny, windy. Sunday was recovery day, watched chapel on-line, conserved energy. Today did scalp on lawn, need to sharpen blade and change oil. Power washed sidewalk for an hour almost done, front and rear porch have less mold/mildew on them.
Covid case numbers. no change Cooke county, no change Montague, up 1 case for Grayson to 23.
RNG Had Chemistry prof like that, he was head of chemistry dept. and our lab was the only non grad level course he taught. Could not speak in terms non-chemistry major undergrads could understand. :mur:
Roy hope you got your tank vent worked out and no winter weather.
Drew for the same reason dairy farmers are dumping milk and milk is in limited supply in grocery stores, supply lines are no flexible enough to meet demand.
Ron, neat comparison of pics, glad you could help neighbors.
Rich sounds like nice seat time
RNG waiting is always the hardest. Congrats on new to you tractor
Ted that was quite the shopping list.
Jay sounds like Brogen was more excited than you!
Kyle 4 1/2 hours moving time, was close to 5 hours overall.
Happy birthday Thomas.
David tasty looking lupper.
Ted nice looking front porch, great for watching your waterfall.
Don glad you got your GC walk in.
Bill leading edge gets sharpened, on mulching blade there are 2 areas to sharpen, on multi-blade decks adjacent blades get rotateted.
Billy there needs to be video of that!
PJ, I would take I-70 and I-55 south rather than go Kingshiway.
Buckeye, I used to got to church in that Ferguson, just north of downtown.
Ken, deer looks healthy
RNG that is a beauty
Bill, I drink electrolyte supplements, dehydration can also cause cramps.
Ron good luck with drone.
Ted nice work!
prayers for all.
stay safe and healthy

Good morning, the temp is 33°F and going to 54. Wind ENE 9 gusting to 17 mph. Sunny.

Belated Happy Birthday, Thomas!

I got the ride on mowers' oil changed yesterday and rolled out the ruts I had made when I buried the cat. Today I may sharpen the blades and grease it.
Questions for all you multi blade gurus, When I put the blades back on do they both face the same way (Parallel) or do you put them perpendicular to each other?
I have never sharpened lawnmower blades before. Do you make them single edged or double? Razor sharp or just with an edge?

After the mower comes the genny or the walk behind mower, maybe both.

Have a safe and healthy day all

Best to grind them almost sharp. Leave a smidge .25-.5mm flat on edge.

Yep, making me feel like a slacker too. You and your son getting quite a bit done this spring, especially for a guy with a bad knee. I hope the knee is better.

Don, when I used to play golf, I always got my moneys worth. I got to shoot almost twice as much as the others did, and because of that, I got to walk the course twice in one outing. zig zag golf. I got a bad slice...

Also Don, I've been telling people to put their masks on their dash of their cars if they park in the sun....but I remembered you have that UV blocker in your car, so not you.

RNG, what a machine. I wish I had one for a couple of weeks. Are there any problems conforming to Kalifornia's smog rules?

Why is gas $.99 in Michigan and still $1.59 here with oil wells everywhere you look??? Also, diesel is staying high for why??? Texas has $.49 tax total (including Fed) on each gallon.

Eric? are you out there?

Has anyone seen the drone videos of people swimming or kayaking with killer whales? Not me. I've seen 'em swim halfway up on shore and toss a seal about a 100 feet for fun. Also seen them knock a full sized porpoise for a long ways, killing it. I would say she's fortunate they weren't hungry.

BEF, it looks like the Covid is worse for those with diabetes. Your death number extrapolation worries me. I don't think it will be over until everybody has been exposed. Or a vaccine.

Sodamo, let us know how your soil kit works out.

Sooooo, RNG... that canopy looks like a pretty good LZ. Once on your way, use the Follow function to treat us to some stunning videos.

Kyle your diabetes statement is very true and something to worry about

Shooting range is seeded strawed and once it fills in ready to use

No fill dirt today still need five loads

Trimming trees towards building have a few areas left to do but list is much smaller

37 loads of brush hauled off to date

Got Drone ready to fly. At least that’s what display says. May try it tomorrow.

Mine is still in plastic wrap, did get rid of outer box.

.

I’m not sure a direct extrapolation is valid. Covid started out with no protective measures and no understanding. In future hopefully people will be more careful, and that should drive the numbers down.
