Good evening!Temp range today was 49˚F to 84˚F with lots of virus killing sun.

RNG nice tractor - exactly what you need to cut in some nice roads on the sides of your hills.

Finished the last golf course just in time this evening, now the courses won't be open for walkers again till Christmas day unless we have a terrible second wave of corvid19.

Yesterday they did find an infected cluster in a nursing home on the Southside of the county after an employee got sick they tested everyone in the home and found 46 positives.

Thomas I bet the cats like your Birthday as much as you did.

BEF I have had some stuck filters also but either got them off with this and a cheater bar, or destroyed them trying.

Happy birthday Thomas! Sorry I missed by a day.
Nice tractor RNG.
Looks like our little town is getting hit with Covid. 76 cases with 14 deaths so far. That's a lot for a small bedroom community.
Off to work. Stay safe and healthy everyone.

Good morning, the temp is 33°F and going to 54. Wind ENE 9 gusting to 17 mph. Sunny.

Belated Happy Birthday, Thomas!

I got the ride on mowers' oil changed yesterday and rolled out the ruts I had made when I buried the cat. Today I may sharpen the blades and grease it.
Questions for all you multi blade gurus, When I put the blades back on do they both face the same way (Parallel) or do you put them perpendicular to each other?
I have never sharpened lawnmower blades before. Do you make them single edged or double? Razor sharp or just with an edge?

After the mower comes the genny or the walk behind mower, maybe both.

Have a safe and healthy day all

44 and still drizzly after a mostly rain filled day and night. Should partially clear and get to a nice 63.

That porch will be nice, Ted. Glad your Costco trip went well. I miss Costco...haven't been in 2 months. May go early tomorrow or Wednesday.

Good luck with that filter, BEF. If the rain and wind ever die down, I'll do my tractor and truck oil.

RNG, hoping it shows up today.

We did get a break in the rain long enough for me to do a little target shooting, and then fire up the grill for some asparagus, zucchini and chicken...got rained on before they finished cooking, but the grill hood kept everything dry, except me.

Good morning all. Cooler day today, but bright sun, high sixties.
Phil, are those high numbers due to a nursing home issue? Stay safe.
Bill, good questions.
I usually try to have blades line up perpendicular, might run a little smoother.
Brand new blades have never seemed very sharp to me. Grew up sharpening blades on our farm, always made them sharp but not knife blade sharp.
Particularly if you have rocky or sandy soil, you'll have to resharpen the extra sharp blades more often. But that's my preference, sharp
blades make a certain noise, like chopping lettuce.

Next door neighbor coming over first thing today to help me sharpen blades. He has never owned a grinding wheel, buys a lot of expensive blades and always looks at me in wonder as I do my own.

Bush hog blades should not be too sharp though, particularly if you are mowing land with small trees or brush in it. Bush hog blade should preferably leave the stalk cut off with a fuzzy or rough end. Otherwise you get pungii stakes left that are bad news on the sides of tractor tires.

Way to tell if blades need sharpened look at grass after cutting if grass blades are cut still good if blades of grass that is are torn time to resharpen
