I am told that poison ivy should not be burned, because the poison is still 'live' in the smoke. What I WILL say is stay out of the smoke at all costs.

When I bought this place, there were something like 50 piles of brush already on it, and every one of them was lousy with poison oak. I burned every one but two or three, always waiting for a day with either no wind or wind blowing out of the north so there'd be no drift onto the neighbor's property. Lots of stories out there of people that breathed smoke laden with poison oak or ivy, and it's very common with the firefighters out here. A cortisone shot fixes 'em right up, but it's best just to avoid the smoke to begin with.

Good day,

Been dealing with a horse these last few days. Not fun. She is old, and maybe her time is near.

Have a good day all be safe.

Currently 50F and completely overcast here ... although WeatherBug claims it is "partly cloudy" ...

Supposed to be making it up to 59F with lots more sun later in the afternoon ... so a good possibility of some seat time.

Did not make it outside yesterday for seat time ... although I did manage to get quite a bit accomplished inside ... including scoring three 5-quart containers of Mobil 1 0w40 from Wally World (which was the limit) while they were on Rollback, which are now waiting for me to pick them up. Still need one more ... might have to see if it's available today.

Redbud tree is showing signs it is about to bloom, starting to see evidence that the maples are about to leaf out ...

Grass getting long ... but still not at the "Critical" stage ...

Lots of rain in the forecast for the next week ... but I suppose it's not all bad, given we have a snowfall deficit for this winter of almost 3' ...

Hope everyone has an enjoyable and productive day ... stay safe.

Got mower cleaned up, greased and blades sharpened. Cut lawn in backyard. Did not have to cleanup mower after cutting lawn. Those Gator Blades will eat up anything. 🤠
DJI Mini was delivered before 9am. Label shows it is from California. But tracking says it came from Hong Kong. Already sprayed outside of box with disinfectant. But what could possibly be in box?
Forgot birdhouse picture.

Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch Ultra Cover Satin Spray Paint. Primer and paint in one product. 2 coats. All 3 of my birdhouses are made out of Cedar. Sucks up paint as fast as it is sprayed on.

Been busy down at the farm. Tore two old barn structures down. This is the same place where I found the moonshine tanks. We filled two, 30 yard dumpsters with metal roofing and other junk. Going to burn the rest next week.

$47.99 for 2.5 gal of kubota 10w30. Wow

Filters were about $15 higher than Messicks, but Messicks shipping would have made it about the same.

Kubota dealer doors were locked. Had to call in order with cc and they brought it out a side door. Should have walked over to tractors to see if they had a TLB like RNGs pic.

Got pulled pork sandwich from food truck next door. They not handling cash, cc only. They weren’t wearing masks.

They weren’t wearing masks.

I'll have to say after wearing mask - for me they are a greater source of contamination. 1. Touch face adjusting mask. 2.Fogs up glasses. 3. One time use as they should be treated as contaminated. 4. Air leakage around edges.

And the effectiveness study showed poor results:

To compare the effectiveness of cotton and surgical masks, a group of patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 coughed into petri dishes while wearing no mask, a surgical mask, and a cotton mask. The mask surfaces were swabbed afterward to assess viral positivity on the mask itself.
The median nasopharyngeal and saliva viral load was 5.66 log copies/mL and 4.00 log copies/mL, respectively. The median viral loads after coughing was 2.56 log copies/mL without a mask, 2.42 log copies/mL with a surgical mask, and 1.85 log copies/mL with a cotton mask. All outer surfaces of the mask were positive for SARS-CoV-2, while most inner surfaces were negative

Cotton, Surgical Masks Less Effective at Blocking Coronavirus Spread

It is what it is, masks are required right now.

Happy Birthday Peg! Enjoy!

Ron, real nice looking birdhouse construction and paint job. All of our houses are now in use, except one looks like maybe the house sparrows ran the bluebirds off.

Been raining off and on all day.

BEF, I ordered 3 filters from Messicks a couple of weeks ago...first ever order from them...at the time I didn't realize they had a count down clock showing the day's deadline for same day service, but just happened to finish my order on a Friday with 2 minutes to go...received the order the next morning. Couldn't believe how fast.
