Not much to be done about CoVid, except stay home and away from people.

Made my first lentil dish for dinner, and it was very tasty. Just lentils in the Instant Pot for 9 minutes with a few spices, served over wild rice. I'll post the recipe here if anyone's interested...

Next Amazon order will have a large bottle of Bean-0 in it, though.:ashamed:

except stay home and away from people

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

Send the Beano back and keep your nose in the wind. Save your money! :)

Just got an email from a cousin who said he took his wife to the hospital emergency room last night. She's had COPD for many years. But last night they did all kinds of tests, concluded that she has pneumonia, did some kind of breathing treatments, considered keeping for a couple of days, but then sent her home with 4 prescriptions. And he said they wouldn't let him stay with her, and wouldn't let him stay in the waiting room where there might be other people, so he sat in his pickup in the parking lot until 1:30 a.m. Of course she's 69 and he's 78.

Sorry about that Bird. I'm hearing stories like this from all over. Probably going to hear plenty more.

Food gathering a bust. Did pickup some meds. No beer either. I really like beer.

So I came home and mowed half the lawn.

Hope all had a good day.View attachment 648397

Did your wifey know you used the tractor??? :) Hope you find some beer, and soon.

Could not find a Ring camera doorbell mount that looked left and down. Gray 2 was under the radar and so were packages, until now, my stretched out 3 day project of cutting glueing sanding and drilling is finished with the installation of this custom mount.

Wood shop to the rescue? You need one of those 3D printers.

No lines here in Giddings yet, but not much TP either.

Well, Good morning.... late! Weather not too bad, very cool this morning, high of 55 today, but got a bit windy this afternoon.

Bad news on the home front... my daughter, the nurse practitioner up in Colorado, treated 2 persons last week that tested positive for Covid19. She was tested last Thursday, but no results reported yet. She started having all of the specific symptoms including the headache and fever starting last Saturday. Her symptoms have not gotten any worse..... She is presumed to be positive until otherwise ruled out.

Her 11 y/o daughter has pre-existing respiratory compromises, and also her grandmother (My MIL) is also elderly (also compromised) and lives with them. They may have been infected without even realizing it.

Please send out your best thoughts, wishes, and prayers for them. Thank you.

Good morning, we could be in for a little rain this afternoon, the first in over a week, as the record seeking high pressure finally moves away. A few hours of dry cloud to enjoy first, which in my book is preferable to bright sunshine.

A question that Ron and any other lathe users may be able to help me with. Are there any rules of thumb on how long a piece of round bar you can sensibly have passing through the bore of the chuck, poking out the left side of the lathe ? I am trying to get a feel for how long an axle could be machined, come the day when I get a small lathe.

LS, hope your family in Colorado soon get over the virus.

Bups, I find shooting benches strange things, you never can be sure if you have the dimensions right until you are sat down using it. Pics always very welcome.

Send the Beano back and keep your nose in the wind. :)
Kyle, have you been reading The great Beano stink mystery !

RNG, the Beano magazine is my grandsons favourite, he reads it every week. Suspect your Beano is a little different.

Bird I have to ask where did your dad go in winter, Texas, Oklahoma just aren't that cold.

My Dad lived in southern Oklahoma, but when I was a baby, he took a job with the Social Security Administration in Baltimore, MD. They did not like Baltimore and moved back to southern Oklahoma until I was 16 when we moved to Texas, less than 100 miles south of where we'd lived in Oklahoma. But when all 5 of us kids were grown and had left home, Dad sold his business and he and Mother took off in a little pickup camper to see the western part of the country. They got to Seattle and just happened to see a sign in the window of a travel agency about trips to Alaska, so they flew to Anchorage, rode a train to Fairbanks and back to Anchorage, came home, got Mother's car, and they took off for Anchorage, lived up there for quite a few years.

Bird did they test for Covid 19, medical care is getting rough.

Supposedly. I have no idea how good that little hospital is, or what test equipment they might have.

Good morning, the temp is 35ーF and going to a high of 41. Wind NE 8 mph. 40% chance of flurries/showers.

Positive thoughts for LS's family.

I got started on the exhaust project yesterday and got the hood off. The headlight wiring is held up with these little thin bits of tin that wrap around the wire. Disconnected the wiring from the headlights and coiled it out of the way.
The lower exhaust pipe is a slip fit, it is held on with one (1) bolt through the frame. This one bolt is a p.i.t.a. as I could only turn it 1/8 of a turn at a time, there is a welded nut on the inside of the frame rail. No I couldn't get a socket on it. The space is made for small hands, which I have none.
Today will be a drop off the loader and get serious with the saws all and cut the muffler off. With the muffler out of the way I should be able to get at the bolts that hold the pipe onto the manifold, with a socket. I didn't take a 'before' pic, but will be taking pics as I go from here on out.

That is my day planned, stay safe and healthy, all

Have not checked the temp this AM, but it is supposed to be warm today. Into the mid 70's.

Kyle - that's a ZTR cut. Wifey seems to have hidden the tractor keys.

I did manage to fill all available gas/diesel tanks yesterday. My great state of VA has given "stay at home" orders until June sometime. So I was trying to get the essentials yesterday. I passed on even going into the local grocery store because of the line I saw.

Today I hope to finish the lawn job, that should be a few hours and a nice walk with the string trimmer. I may go into the woods and take down some more barbed wire if the wife can help out.

Hope all have a good day. Be safe and try and stay positive.
