Good morning. It was 64° and very foggy here earlier .. still foggy but warming up. We're supposed to be overcast all day but, still get to 81° this afternoon.

Our pastures stayed green all winter but, now getting greener .. we need more rain.

After the Daytona got weather delay I spent the afternoon in the shop. I removed the very rusty retract springs from the air / hydraulic 20 ton jack, for my 20 ton press. I cleaned them up on the wire wheel, gave them a coat of rust reformer, then a coat of black.





I'll get them back on the jack and start re-assembly of the press today.

I've taken advantage of the long weekend and reworking our mailbox and post. Need to get that completed by noon tomorrow. Mail lady comes around 2 p.m.

Maybe some more tree trimming if wind stays down. I need to catch up from being gone all day Saturday.

Don .. your cousin did nice work on his tractor.

Eric ... I've been on boats rockin' rollin' like that back in the 70's, when I lived in London and Aberdeen, heading out to rigs West of the Shetlands. Weather too bad for helicopters? No problem .. get on da' boat.

L4N .. glad you're happy about the snow! You can always have my share.

BEF .. hope you get to feeling better.

Ron .. we've given very little corn to our deer, last three years, with our big crop of acorns.

Thomas.. if you don't get stuck once in a while .. you're just not trying hard enough. . Everything I own, except our new F-350 has been stuck at least once.

Drew .. nice Cub Cadet. Hope you find someone who appreciates its condition.

He can’t remember he has to push a call button for help.
Facility claims law doesn’t allow full bed rails and a bed alarm. I find that hard to believe.

I went trough that with my mother. Had to request the rail and alarm. I had durable power of for attorney and health. It may be different where FIL is. My mother wanted a small rail to use setting up from laying on bed. Gave her some control and added some safety. If she got off bed alarm went off.

spent last hour arranging trip to PA, including a dinner out with high school friends, all celebrating 70th birthdays this year or past.
We go to the same restaurant, always good, not too expensive, huge menu so everyone can find something. Menu | Villa Barolo
Taking car, not rv, can't depend up on weather in PA in March, plus Audi is very good in snow so safest choice.
Hope to get my neck epidural long before this trip in mid March.

Now to go put new fruit trees I bought this morning at TSC, one apple, one plum and two pecans, into the heated garden shed.
Or maybe the unheated garage. A little hardening wouldn't hurt.
They won't like 25 degrees Friday night after just coming out of a warm store, so going to keep them inside until the weekend.
All to replace those that didn't make it over last two years.

A mostly sunny 23ºF for today's low temperature and I anticipate a sunny afternoon with temperatures in the mid30ºF's. I am hoping that today's warmth and sun will put a dent on the driveway. I am not looking forward to tonight's/tomorrow"s snow to sleet to all rain event and what it will do to my already ice glazed driveway.

BEF- I am sorry to read about your FIL and you feeling under the weather. I too question that rehab facility's policies on bed rails and movement detectors. They were used in every longterm care facility where I worked. Is this facility a "restraint free" facility?

Roy- I am sorry to read about your neighbor's wife.

Don- That's a nice looking tractor.

Thomas- I am sorry to read about your tractor incident. I could see something like that happening to me this year with this continued icing. Good luck with the 2 tractor family idea.

31F clear temps heading for the teens tonight snow at day break tomorrow.

Was good all in all most of all weather temps were comfortable.
$31 to replace side light lens for the Kubota Had good long chat with owner of Kubota dealership about couple prices on B models Mrs. wanted,Mrs. really likes B2650 with all the goodies except the belly mower,now she planning on meeting with the owner next couple of weeks...this will be interesting.
Not much plan for this evening other than watching some NASCAR dinner watch for wildlife.

37°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 51° today. Been raining on and off much of the day here.

After years of chasing it with all the wrong equipment, I finally this weekend found my holy grail of guitar tones I've been seeking. I've been trying to copy the sound of one of my favorite guitar players from the '80s, Akira Takasaki from the Japanese band Loudness. I've always gotten close, but never quite there. It was always missing a distinct growl. This weekend, though, I tried something in the Helix that I'd thought fleetingly about before, but had never actually tried. Bingo! There it was, in all it's glory.

It was a good weekend.

Busy day at work today. Got some catching up to do here.

Finally went Saturday and bought that beater truck to go to the dump, etc... the more we looked, the less beater we chose. Ended up with this as our third vehicle.

West Nipissing - French River

Snowstorm on the way beginning Monday night.

A low pressure system will emerge from Texas and track towards the Great Lakes on Monday. This low will bring an area of snow with it, reaching areas near Lake Superior Monday evening, then spreading east to the Quebec border by Tuesday morning,

Total snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 cm are expected, with locally higher amounts possible. *10 cm = 4" +/- 20cm=7.9"

The snow will move out of the area by Tuesday evening as the low pressure area crosses Central or Eastern Ontario into Quebec.

Ron, thinking of you. My friend from Wisconsin Rapids called me today. He sent down a case of fresh Stephens Point Lager to me, I sent him some Post Oak and Pecan wood chips for his BBQ. He invited us up to stay some days up there...maybe in the summer time I'm thinking. I don't have any crampons.

Good evening all. 56F for the start, light breeze, partly cloudy sky. Sky stayed partly cloudy, moderate wind with brisk gusts through noon then backed off a lot, and high temp was 75F. Two cold fronts coming through, 1 tomorrow morning and 1 Thursday morning, will cool off 30+ degrees. Choir practice to start, director was happy with bot performance yesterday and work today so we quit 5 minutes early Put down some pre-emergent to control sandburrs. Bike ride after lunch was done with no supplemental warm clothes :cool2: Back to full winter clothes by Thursday.
