I have same crane and press. My press is setting on 2 4' railroad ties. Looks like you have a air/hydraulic jack setting next to press. Great add to press.

Right after I bought the press, several years ago, HF had a super low price (about $80 I think) on their 20 ton air / hydraulic jack. I took it off the press to remove, cleanup, and repaint the retract springs that rusted almost immediately after I bought it.

22F this morning, dentist called and said I could get in today for second crown (someone cancelled).. works for me, I want to get it all done so billing all happens before exit date if I am approved for retirement.

Grand daughter has a Valentine party today, wife is going to help, then early release and no school for Thursday and Friday and Monday...

RNG, looks like the projects are progressing nicely.

Weather folks think we may get a storm in the next couple weeks..

Stay safe, prayers for all

Good morning to all! Low of 16, going up to 39. Sunny. Maybe some of the snow will melt down. All of the schools are closed.

BEF, do not let the info about the secret bunker get out.....

Drew, hope you continue to at least some mild relief from neck pain. Fingers crossed for some good news on Friday at at the Dr. that assortment of flowers will sure put out some colors!

Buppies, be careful in the mud. Does not sound like fun....

RNG, sounds like things are falling (Well not literally) into place nicely. Nice tractor / bandsaw setup.

Not sure if I am going to use the tractor and plow again, I will just wait and see if the sun melts it down a bit. Only about 4 inches on top of the inch left behind after plowing, so easily drivable.

My son posted the next video of the garage build, putting up the rafters. No bloopers in this one. Here is a link:

Garage door installer called yesterday and postponed the install until Friday. They are coming out of the city, only have a 2 wheel drive truck, and do not want to get stuck. That is ok.

Here is a pic of the snow this morning:

Morning guys. I thought I’d stop in and say hi. I’ve been pretty busy with my parents, and honestly have felt overwhelmed. I’ll try to catch up over the next couple of days.

Have a good one!

That makes three of us with that press. I bought mine about 7-8 years ago. Could not beat the price! Think I paid around $120 for it.
I have always eyeballed the air / hydraulic jack to put in it.
Rick, have you used the air jack in the press and, if so, how did it work? Do you use it frequently?

If your doing something once, the air / hydraulic bottle jack doesn’t help much. If you’re doing repetitive pressing ... it does save time. Mine was installed all the time until I took it off to repaint the retract springs. I put the manual jack on to press some wheel bearings for my rear finish mower.

I probably use mine 2-3 times per month on average.

I’m waiting for Eastwood to have another sale on their press break. It goes down to $149.99 pretty often.

Then pour a foot +/- of concrete in each hole thick enough to end up with a common depth at the top of the concrete.
You might want to check that URL: Not sure how Sohcahtoa relates to trig or posts???:confused2: Nice set'a knockers, though!:D

That’s what I did with my pole barn. Drove piece of rebar in bottom of each hole to a common height, pour concrete to top of rebar.

RNG ... Are you dry cutting the pipe or adding some cutting lube?

Dry. I'm using bimetal blades and cutting oil just seems to make a mess without improving the surface finish or extending blade life. I think this blade broke where it had been twisted before...

I had to use mine at dawn and dusk when I was building my barn addition. I know you're up early, so try it out. A very cloudy day can help, too.

Go old fashion with a transit and a pole.

32°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 37° today. Snow is starting to fall here, which is supposed to turn quickly over to rain, then back to snow this evening until it ends tomorrow morning. Temps are supposed to plunge down to the teens tonight, and single digits tomorrow night, then warm again for the weekend.

End of an era happened yesterday. The one gas station in town in Trenton that still let me select "Pay Inside" at the pump officially ended that practice. Now, it's either prepay inside or pay at the pump, which eliminates my ability to put my gasoline outside and unhealthy breakfast choices inside on one purchase. I asked the manager why they did that, and she shrugged and said, "corporate decision, we had no say." Another facet of that small town charm swept away through policy decisions made in another state. (I know ... first world problems)

Never seen a black squirrel. However, there is a small town east of us on US-50 called Olney IL that is semi-famous for their large population of white squirrels.
