Good evening all. 50F for the start, clear calm wind, no water in rain gauge but water back over low water #2. Wind picked up quickly, gust topping 25, white caps on the lake. sky clear all day, and high temp was 56F. Bike ride this morning, had a chain drop during shifting going up hill and went down like a rock. Most damage was to my pride, and a scrapped knee :censored: No damage to bike or gear. Short nap and go help move love seat. Had a POA meeting tonight, introduction of the 7 candidates for 3 spots on POA board.

Good morning,
the temp is 6°F and is going to a high of 14.Wind NNE 8 mph. Periods of snow, about another inch.
I didn't get cheated out of my seat time on this snowfall. :D when I went to bed last night there was a good 8-10" on the ground and still snowing. I WILL be out plowing today.
That is going to be my day all planned out.

Drew, a smart man knows when his body is telling him to stick close to home. I'm happy you had the smarts to cancel your trip. A grand is a mere pittance compared to what it could co$t if you passed out behind the wheel.

Have a good day all

Dr, suggested that I start using Gas-X for stomach pain last Monday. I said, but I do not have gas. Dr. said yes you do. Showed me the X-rays and pointed out the areas that were gas. Well, it is working. I feel so much better.

Glad you got some relief, Ron.

Maybe I shouldn't ask, but when's the last time you got your hearing checked?

good morning all.
took a while but think I'm caught up now.
having a blueberry yogurt with extra blueberries on top, a favorite breakfast of mine.

I appreciate all the support.
I don't want a bunch of pill bottles on my dresser when I get older.
well I've got them now and not much fun, particularly when it seems the diuretics they gave me for my ear
have really fouled up my health. Still queasy this morning, think this may take a while.

Ok, tonight I think I try out the instapot for the first time. Lugged it back out of the rv...
Have a chunk of top round, potatoes, veggies, just have to read the directions about cooking and seasoning.
I love stews so hope what I make is edible.

only one silly pic from trip. That trip was just doomed. And this morning I have to send off a dozen emails cancelling reservations. The one for Charleston SC in two weeks I may keep, really wanted to see my niece and it's an ok one day drive down there from here. I'll see in a week how I feel. Have no energy, though I admit those ensure type drinks do seem to help, at least temporarily. Definitely off my feed.

Rain and wind last night, very warm, about 60 out and today clearing and much colder, down in 20's tonight. Since I still have water in the rv I need to turn on the tank heaters. As soon as things dry up here I need to spray the fruit trees with dormant oil spray. Waiting for that window of opportunity.

Toppop, prayers for your whole family's health. Buckeye, you really have had your hand's full, your last year feels like mine, except you've had it worse.
All you snow bunnies walk safely out there. We all agree we don't bounce anymore...
Drives, nice to have you aboard, loved the pics. Posting pics here is a bit klugey but do it enough and it gets easier.

Older nearby neighbor saw I had returned home, knew I wasn't doing well, and promptly made me some seriously yummy home made chicken noodle soup with reduced salt in it. I think the Jewish genes on one side of my family hopped up and down in appreciation...
Super nice guy who like me likes to cook and we often trade garden veggies back and forth. Nice, kind and helpful, can't ask for more.

if you zoom in on the rv pic near the roofline, you can see the innards of the awning out there. 14 feet of upside down plastic black gutter, somewhere in pieces on 15th street in Washington. I feel badly about driving on, no visual at all, but figured what remained of it got put to side. Really want to drive past there today to see if bits or pieces left and for sure I'll hog up the left lane all the way in next time to prevent this. I'm a keep right guy and that's dicey with downtown trees and a motorhome. Learned my lesson, never scratched either of the first two rv's.
Just wasn't a good day, and better days ahead.

Funny you should ask. I thought the dog were making the occasional smell that would happen around the house. :confused3:

I Don稚 get the flu shot anymore and am better off.

Well, now I've heard it all; a health fanatic that doesn't get the flu shot.:laughing:

33 degrees here this morning, but going for a sunny high of 54.

   / Good morning!!!! #105,292
Need to pour second cup of coffee. 18ー with light snow. Heading to 24ー with wind and more snow. Should not need to plow snow. Looks like more normal winter temperatures here for a few day. No plans for today.
It is really hard to know how a person feels after losing loved ones. Until it happens to you. Then you can understand all the emotions that those people have and are going through. Special prayers for them.

David, Sophie is right. 16 bags? You trying to hold back a volcano? :D

Drew, glad you made back home safely. Good luck with Dr's this week.

LS, great video. Wish I could figure out how to them.

Don, I still get the flu and pneumonia shots. No side affects after shots. Still on the fence about the shingle shot. I had shingles in 2004. Caught it early and got rid of it in a couple of weeks. High stress time while trying to get things organized after retiring.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All.

44 going to 46 and breezy.

Hope your knee is better today, Mostly...and hope all others are improving.

One more flu experience: we've been getting the flu shot for maybe 20+ years and neither of us has caught the flu.

Eric, does your area promote flu shots?

Good morning! 20 now, supposed to be the high for the day. Like RJH, we are going to have a couple of days of winter. Back to 40+ later this week. Other than making sure it would start and getting it prepped, my snow blower has not moved this season. Not complaining though!

Since it rained most of the day yesterday, spent time in the garage. Got the Lucas dynamo apart, cleaned, and rebuilt. I was right on the diagnosis, found the cause of the failure, had all the correct parts. That made me happy. May install it today.

Wood burner feels good this morning.

Drew - I struggle with dehydration.....my body does a terrible job of retaining potassium. Try Vitamin Water Revive. That specific formulation does wonders for me.

Hope everyone starts feeling better.

Have a safe and good remainder of the weekend.

Don, I still get the flu and pneumonia shots. No side affects after shots. Still on the fence about the shingle shot. I had shingles in 2004.

I've SEEN a neighbor with shingles, so I got the Zostavax shot in 2012, then the Shingrix first dose July, 2019 and second dose Sept. 2019. The medical "experts" told us the Zostavax was great UNTIL they came out with the Shingrix and then told us the Zostavax was minimally effective. Anyway, Margaret and I have had both. In 2007, I had the PPS V23 Pneumonia shot, and in 2013 I had another round. I had one doctor telling me you need a second shot after 5 years, and his partner telling me you don't need a second one, but I got it. Then I got the Prevnar 13 Pneumonia shot in 2017. Were they needed? I don't know, but I haven't been sick with shingles or pneumonia. YET!

Good Morning!!!! 43F @ 5:00AM. Generally cloudy. High 56F. Winds light and variable.

+1 on the hydration call, Rich & Drew. Same symptoms: dizzy, upset stomach, headache, feeling weak. I was on a diuretic for a couple years, and stopped taking it after one bad incident of dehydration. Now I count the water I drink every day, and try to get at least a half gallon in me, more if I sweat a lot. Propel energy drink, the sugar free version, seems to help me catch up if I get behind.

Sixteen bags, David! Makes me wonder just how thick that slab is?

Hopefully you weren't going very fast when you fell, Mostly. Did that quite a few times myself, but mainly on the mountain bike, but still hurts.

Who's responsible for keeping tree branches out of the right of way, Drew? Homeowner or city, but it seems like one of 'em owes you some awning parts. Which are hopefully easy to get and install.

Ted, tell your son he's doing a fine job on those videos. I struggle just posting a single clip, let alone ten minutes which probably contains a hundred.

Speaking of video, the replacement GoPro came in yesterday, so I put it on the charger overnight. Today I'll check to make sure the firmware is up to date, then unplug and let it sit 24 hours to see if it's still holding a charge.

Once it warmed up yesterday, I had another go at swapping out that temperature sensor on the van. I had an old 3/4" socket in the junk drawer, so I turned down the last 1/2" as thin as I could, then cut it off to make a ring. Cut a piece of tubing the right size and welded the ring on one end and the square drive to the other, making a funky looking deep well socket. But it worked, and I only spilled a pint or so of antifreeze swapping out the sensor. Then I hosed off the engine to rinse away all the antifreeze. I think that was a mistake because the intake manifold and a few vacuum lines were open, and after i put in the new idle air control valve, the engine wouldn't start. Cranks fine, just won't catch, no matter how long I lean on the starter. Hopefully it's just wet, so I'll ventilate the thing all day and see if I get lucky.

This week's weather was supposed to be nice, but now they're predicting rain Sunday night into Monday. Better than snow I guess...

Today might be the day to stake out the trench and solar array locations. Or at least get a start; I'm not sure I've got enough stakes, and maybe I should use real marking paint instead of Krylon. And I still need to probe for that septic line...

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend!

I got another camera donation lately from a friend. Canon 6D. It has more modern features more megapixels, WiFi, GPS, full frame and SDX memory card. The big thing in digital cameras today is mirrorless. Sony is the leader. Many Canon owners are switching even though Canon has them. Mirrorless is similar to what a cellphone has.
