Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #105,321
A snowy 20ºF morning low. Today's high was 33ºF. A breezy mixed sun and clouds with intermittent snow flurries most of the day. I measured 4.5" of accumulated snow that was dry and easy to manage = plowed the driveway and turnabouts, roof raked where needed, and shoveled off the deck. All I need to do tomorrow is throw some wood ashes, shovel a cart path to my wood pile and an access path to my propane tank that got filled Friday. Plan for the rest of the day = Feed the dog, Happy Hour, re-heat leftovers, and relax. For some reason as soon as the football playoff game started we lost DTV signal for that station and no others

Billy- Thanks for the recipe. I've eaten worse and less healthy concoctions than your suet. I might add some nasty hot sauce for the tree rats.;)

Bill- Thanks for the link. I am using old fashioned analog outdoor timer outlets. Really decent LED grow lights were not easily available and overly expensive when I set this cellar grow room up and went with CFL lights. It is my belief and I am probably wrong that the CFL ballasts mess with the digital timers.

David- Nice work.

Buppies- There are a lot of upset MidAtlantic State(s) members at WxDisco who have thrown in their towels about having snow this Winter. I agree with you about this ongoing weather pattern.

Drew- It seems your trip was not meant to be this time; hopefully you will get a second window of opportunity soon. Itç—´ really nice to have neighbor friends like yours. I am sorry to read about your RV damage. I really hope that everything medical/physical going on gets straightened out soon. Good luck with your stew and I hope that you are able to get your reservation deposits returned or held for future use. Shake any family tree and all kinds of surprises may drop out. My Sister got me a "23 and Me" genetic test kit for the Holidays. All I had to do is spit in a vial (took ~15 minutes) and mail the vial back. Now that I started the process I am a little curious about my genetic background. Unlike my sister I am not interested in meeting blood relatives unless it is someone here in GM or really rich.;)

Lou- I am sorry to read about your cousin.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

why not have an intelligent software, in case you can't find competent medical folk to do it, to kick off a list of potential medical incompatibilities and make it required to point them out? I'm not thinking like a lawyer but as a guy who has likely been overdosed and under monitored...

The pharmacy that I use (CVS) has an app on their web page which you can populate with your drugs and any over the counter medications that you are taking and it will list the interactions and warnings.

Back from seeing FIL. He is still unresponsive and they have no idea what is wrong. Breathing and heart is good. Feet and legs swollen. While we were there they heard from Johns Hopkins so he is now on his way there by ambulance. MIL and wifes sister and her husband will be staying with us tonight. They are following ambulance to Hopkins. Not looking good.

Drew, sorry about the awning. I will replace mine in the spring. Watched lots of YouTube video ,Looks pretty easy, but mine doesn’t have a cover.

jbrumberg; " All I had to do is spit in a vial (took ~15 minutes) and mail the vial back." It took you 15 minutes to hit the vial?

Have they checked for a stroke? A friend’s daughter had severe pneumonia, and they induced a coma, while in the coma she suffered a stroke. They couldn’t understand why she had become unresponsive and it took several days to getting around to testing for stroke. She nearly died and has lifetime loss of function.

Yes, that’s been checked. They did find signs of a very small stroke since yesterday, but the unresponsiveness started before that. And they didn’t think it was significant enough to cause his condition. He did have some pressure on the brain and they drained some fluid off.
The even checked for GBS. I spoke with the Dr, they have a GBS patient there now.
They wanted to get FIL to a university based hospital and contacted Duke and Hopkins. Hopkins was first response that could take him and they sent him an hr later.

haha Maybe you're royalty after all.

BEF, hope they figure something out.

Randy, glad Ellen is a little bit better. Supper looked good.

Wng, hope your family is better.

Prayers.

Didn't do much at all today. Went to church, saw some friends off to Wisconsin. Long drive.

Surprised the packers let the 49ers get so far ahead, for a playoff game....49ers dominated 1st half.

Chickens still laying eggs. They are mad we don't have any chicken scratch cracked corn and millet right now. We still give them Layena crumbles, but they don't like it as much.

You guys in the cold/snow/ice be careful.....Ron et al.

Good evening all. 29F for the start, clear, and near calm wind. Light wind all day, clear sky all day and high temp was 54F. Choir sang at chapel today, then made wife's breakfast. Cleaned out insert, I can see several fire days coming up. Energy conservation mode till nap time. Wake up to find KC turned the game around. Watched most of the first half of Packer/49 game. Was nice to see GB do better second half. Knee just fine, just need to cover till it gets a good scab.
Bill glad you got some seat time.
Buppies a month is a long time.
Drew again sorry about losing out on a good adventure and medicine issues. hope you can get awning fixed with minimal issues.
Thomas sounds like a nice day.
Rich getting lucas electronics to work is quite the feat!
Bird, wife had shingles, went to doc as soon as symptoms started and he gave he something that helped greatly, 2 weeks and that was it, and the itching was not as bad. both of us have had the older shot.
Rng nice work on the temp sensor. Hope you get your site marking done.
Ron have been enjoying your bird photos,
Kyle no bruising from fall, no knee swelling. Learned to drink coffee black on winter camp outs. Creme would be left home. Will put the odd hit of Bailey's in it.
David hope you get the forms pulled and the guys win.
Drew, my pharmacy does check for interactions on all my medicine.
Jay glad snow was easy to manage.
Buckeye sorry about FIL, please keep us posted.
prayers for all.

25 and clear, should see 37 and more wind.

Sharpened my chain saw yesterday and brought more wood onto the porch, but too windy to do much else outside.

Buppies, Blue Ridge Parkway drive sounds great. Didn't know you had a convertible. Haven't been on your section of the Parkway in about 6 years, so want to get back soon.

Ron, that last pic you posted is super sharp.

Jay, I've never eaten the mix, but some days it smells so good it's tempting.

Good morning
temp is -6ーF and going to a high of 12. Wind WNW 2 mph. Sunny!

It took me 4 hours to clean up after the last storm. That is from the time I went out the door to fire up to the time I walked back in the door, greasing and fueling included.

The seat in that Kioti is a back breaker for a long backed person, I am going to change it out for something a little more comfortable. I am thinking a cloth high back Bostrom spring ride would do the trick.

It has been a lot of years since I was last on the Blue Ridge Pkwy. 60 of them to be exact, I was 13. It was a beautiful drive then and I quite imagine it is today as well.

Suet, peanut butter and sunflower seeds are all edible by themselves so why not mix them together and eat them? The suet might give you the trots if you eat enough of it.

Have a safe day all

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 9° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 24° with sunny skies. About 2" of snow fell yesterday. Need to get out and clean walkways. So that Amazon driver will not slip and fall. No other plans today. Yesterday was a good day to take bird pictures. Got the 600 mm lens out and got a some good pictures. Not sure what this bird is. But it is gray, white and black. All puffed up to keep warm.

Drew, glad you a feeling better.

Buppies, those 40 pound bags get heavier every year without doing it with a injury. Be careful.

Wngsprd, with snow on the ground. More bids show up at the feeders. Yesterdays picture was taken with a 300 mm lens.

David, 60 lbs bag does up the quantity needed. :D

Randy, dinner looked good. Glad Ellen is better. Payers for your mother.

Buckeye, hope they find what is going on with your FIL. Prayers sent. My aunt that has the 7 wheel walker was taken into 2 different hospitals before she was sent to one of the large hospital in Detroit. First 2 said there was nothing they could do. Detroit hospital did not give any hope. But they brought her back to reasonable health.

Mostly, take care of the scrap. So easy to get a infection from a road burn.

Jay, I will wait for report from you on taste of the bird suet.

Kyle, get the chickens some chicken scratch.

Good Morning All.
