David, the Ridgeline looks great, I am sure the pups appreciate it too! I have been trying to find the time to get into the big city and look at truck caps for the Nissan... just not a priority right now. Maybe by spring or summer things will quiet down and I will have free time to go shopping.... YOU DO NOT GO TO THE BEACH? Wow, you live in Hawaii.... I guess it becomes old ?....

....

Thanks. And I’m sure they do. Guess you could say getting the cap was a priority. There was no getting a new truck and not getting new cap. Actually I ordered it 3 days before delivery of the truck. Took 2 months for delivery.

Grew up in Maine, near the coast but never really a beach fanatic, as in salt water swimmer. Here we mostly go when we have visitors, more to see the turtles etc. The ocean is in my view probably 75% of time if not more due to our property (more than 180° view) and even whenever we drive somewhere, so very satisfying to me. If I sit out front with a coffee or a cold one I could also be pretentious and say I’m whale watching (but only Nov-Apr).

32 windy and cold looks like winter weather returning tomorrow with highs in the 20's.
Drew good to read your getting back up to speed, hope that first leg goes well and you have a great trip.
Mossflower good to see you back glad to see third time's a charm after my first my father said "didn't you learn the first time" but been lucky with number 2.
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed more posts from RNG since he became SUPERRNG
After a week of stomach issues finally broke down and went to the Doc, fortunately the pain started to let up yesterday and feel almost normal today when I saw Dr now instead of a CT scan I earned a colonoscopy in March unless pain returns.

Interesting discussion on fencing. Made me think, wonder about my own neighborhood.

One of the local neighbors, Kelvin, is a retired county cop, raises cattle on both sides of the road, switching pastures as appropriate. Used to pasture on our property and we enjoyed a property tax advantage, but he let the fences deteriorate. Has had the herd on properties just below our lower fence (mentioned in previous post). These are 2 adjoining 20 acre parcels and some smaller parcels. A couple weeks ago a farmer started cultivating the 20 acre piece that separates the upper 20 from the lower parcels. No interior fence separating properties. Makes me wonder how the farmer is intending to keep out the cattle unless he fences. Guessing he is just a tenant farmer as I don’t see the property as having been sold. I know Kelvin needs the space as he recently mentioned being interested in using ours again. Told him he was welcome to but needed to redo the fencing as I had no interest in redoing it myself.
No idea how or why the out of state owner made the switch from Kelvin’s cattle to a farmer, but he might be shocked when the county finds out and changes his tax valuation. Cattle pasture is the lowest value, cheapest tax.

Parts of Colorado is still open range. You have to fence to keep them out.

I was born and raised in Colorado cattle country and have family still there. That's where I learned about it. It wasn't un heard of that a steer would turn up missing, payment for feed.

Once the reality ... that he ain't getting a free TBN T-shirt ... or coffee cup sets in ... he'll calm down.

Well, my FIL has caved and decided to help pay for the fencing. Things still apprehensive due to the verbal scarring from the accusations, but they are certainly a turn better.

I guess my FIL decided to be the better person in the whole situation.

Drew - glad you're feeling better.

Randy you too.

Nice pics.

Not a big beach going guy myself. Salt and sand.....vs go to the fresh water clean lake. No sharks, jelly fish, etc.

You guys be careful in the snow. We are getting some much needed rain. Still have cracks in the yard...

I wonder exactly what this statement by enviroment Canada means; Significant snowfall amounts expected Saturday through Sunday morning.
I have seen flurries that amounted to 16" overnight. So what does significant equal in terms or accumulation?

Good evening all. 41F for the start, overcast, light wind. Rain started about 10:30, light to moderate rain, 1/4 in in rain gauge this after noon, low temp was 40F high temp was 45F. Started fire in insert first, then puttered. Went to town for lunch, supplies, changed out cable box. revived fire then napped. Had fishing club meeting tonight.
RNG nice job on the pic.
David love the truck cap and the pics.
Roy hope drive wasn't too bad.
Ron, ask Bird what he got when he became Epic :D
Thomas have fun plowing.
RNG, hate to hear about your insurance woes. Much more fun to read about van and solar progress.
Randy sorry to hear about your HOA experience. Have had one for last 35 years, had to make some personnel changes on first on first one and have been watching the candidates like a hawk. Most of the people here want to take care of the golf course and the lake, and the lake needs help.
Welcome back David/Moss.
Eric, I realize that your sheep don't live forever. Not sure ir is something you look forward to, either. I presume the baby she was carrying was lost too?
David hope you can get more time with all your daughters. Good luck with the house project.
Jay sounds like life is under control, thanks for the pinch info.
Ted, no google shopping here.
Drivesitfar that is a heck of a view.
Randy good to hear about improvement. BIL just had valve replacement, having UTI and nausea issues, still in hospital.
Kyle, wish I could have sent you some of last weeks rain!
prayers for all.
