I bought as 6qt IP to take with me, something to play with on the trip. And I actually figured out why I couldn't get the rv microwave to work, had to set clock first. Between the micro and the IP, I should be fine.

Between those and restaurants, you're sure not going to starve to death.

Don't forget the cookbook and instructions for the IP. They make it really easy to turn out a great meal.

And glad to hear you're feeling better.

Happy Trails, Drew!

Any big changes 'round here?

Hard to tell where to start.:laughing:

We're missing some old faces, but more new ones have come along, and with each one new challenges and victories. You're no exception, David, and I'm glad you're still rolling with the punches and still making progress.

Hope you have a great new year!

Never heard of google shopping.

Hope those trees live after all that digging. He better water them in good, looks awful dry.

The holes are very dry, especially below about 6 “ . I told him a couple of days ago, after I dug the first hole, that he should fill them with water and let it soak in before he plants them. They had a delay on digging them up, so he has not brought any down yet. Hopefully he will take my advice before he does.

As for the “ Google shopping “ , I never new of it before either. When I would type in a product for a search, using Google, the usual first line across the results showed pictures of that item, and where it was for sale typed in under the picture. When I saw “ Costco “ under the ash vac picture and the great price, I clicked on that picture. Apparently that is “ Google shopping “. They offered a 20% savings on the first order, so I figured ‘ why not try ‘ .... seemed to be a very easy process and check out....

Well, let it be known.... I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN! Just spent an hour with them, trying to get everything straight. Their customer service is BS ! They have no clue as to what happened. After numerous supervisors, they finally said “ oh, the vendor ( Costco) cancelled the order “ . Really? Why? Apparently, the item that Google shopping had listed, was from a sale that Costco had about 3 months ago.... they do not even carry the item anymore.

The worst part is that right on the Google shopping ‘ fine print ‘ and policies, it states that “ you will not be billed until the item ships “ . My account was debited 5 mins after placing the order ! The supervisor said: “ well, a tracking number was generated, so that meant it would ship “ . REALLY? , was my response.... the tracking number did not show up for four days after the order was placed, and then only stated ‘ awaiting item ‘. The supervisor did not know what to say other than she put in for a refund.... which will take 7-10 days! I did get an email stating about the refund.... and another reissuing the 20% off coupon.... I threw that in the trash.... NEVER will I use google shopping again!

So, just a heads up.... beware of anything from “ GOOGLE SHOPPING “ Thanks for letting me rant....

You friend should put water in a hole or two and do a percolation test to make sure they will drain. I’ve no idea on your soil but couldn’t hurt?

Whatever happened to Bill, from Michigan? Had cats, remodeled his porch/ deck, always joking about stuff.

So, after taking care of the Google shopping issue, mmmm.... I am in the mood.... let me try to contact the internet provider and get an answer to that issue.

I did get a live human to talk too.... they were not brain dead either.... seems they got hit with a virus that took down their server. Came in through a back door of one of their customers email account. They asked me to be a “ trial “ for the system just as they were bringing the system back on line. It is now up and working, but..... they were monitoring our network as we were talking. Seems the Internet speed was all over the place and some sites would still not recognize their server.... so still not totally fixed, but at least working.

Another good outcome to an issue. Now I am going to kick back, have a margarita ( I usually never drink), and try not to think about anything!

Oh, it will perc, but very slowly. The soils have about 4-6 “ of topsoil, then about 1-2 feet of sandy loam, 1-2 feet of clay, and at about 5-6 feet, a layer of caliche (gypsum for you northern guys) which barely drains at all.

Plants / trees here spread their roots horizontally once they hit that caliche.

I use google to find stuff on amazon.

FIL still same, they don’t know what’s going on.
Wife is upset.

   / Good morning!!!! #105,149
Google to me is for watching youtube and email. If I want something from amazon then I go to amazon to search there.

As for me using my left foot for the brakes, I have been doing it with automatics for 53 years and those are accident free years. I was using my left foot on the brake the day I finally passed the two Americans with Wisconson plates, dragging a boat and trailer down Hwy 622 just north of Aticokan, ON, they couldn't/wouldn't even do the speed limit. It seemed to me that they couldn't read. I followed these two for about 20 miles, then threw caution to the wind and passed them. I was driving a company pickup. (automatic)

Just read the 1000 posts you missed and you’ll be caught up on the news

I try not to use ANYTHING related to Google. It takes a lot of extra effort though....

David, the Ridgeline looks great, I am sure the pups appreciate it too! I have been trying to find the time to get into the big city and look at truck caps for the Nissan... just not a priority right now. Maybe by spring or summer things will quiet down and I will have free time to go shopping.... YOU DO NOT GO TO THE BEACH? Wow, you live in Hawaii.... I guess it becomes old ?....

....

Thanks. And I’m sure they do. Guess you could say getting the cap was a priority. There was no getting a new truck and not getting new cap. Actually I ordered it 3 days before delivery of the truck. Took 2 months for delivery.

Grew up in Maine, near the coast but never really a beach fanatic, as in salt water swimmer. Here we mostly go when we have visitors, more to see the turtles etc. The ocean is in my view probably 75% of time if not more due to our property (more than 180° view) and even whenever we drive somewhere, so very satisfying to me. If I sit out front with a coffee or a cold one I could also be pretentious and say I’m whale watching (but only Nov-Apr).

32 windy and cold looks like winter weather returning tomorrow with highs in the 20's.
Drew good to read your getting back up to speed, hope that first leg goes well and you have a great trip.
Mossflower good to see you back glad to see third time's a charm after my first my father said "didn't you learn the first time" but been lucky with number 2.
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed more posts from RNG since he became SUPERRNG
After a week of stomach issues finally broke down and went to the Doc, fortunately the pain started to let up yesterday and feel almost normal today when I saw Dr now instead of a CT scan I earned a colonoscopy in March unless pain returns.

Interesting discussion on fencing. Made me think, wonder about my own neighborhood.

One of the local neighbors, Kelvin, is a retired county cop, raises cattle on both sides of the road, switching pastures as appropriate. Used to pasture on our property and we enjoyed a property tax advantage, but he let the fences deteriorate. Has had the herd on properties just below our lower fence (mentioned in previous post). These are 2 adjoining 20 acre parcels and some smaller parcels. A couple weeks ago a farmer started cultivating the 20 acre piece that separates the upper 20 from the lower parcels. No interior fence separating properties. Makes me wonder how the farmer is intending to keep out the cattle unless he fences. Guessing he is just a tenant farmer as I don’t see the property as having been sold. I know Kelvin needs the space as he recently mentioned being interested in using ours again. Told him he was welcome to but needed to redo the fencing as I had no interest in redoing it myself.
No idea how or why the out of state owner made the switch from Kelvin’s cattle to a farmer, but he might be shocked when the county finds out and changes his tax valuation. Cattle pasture is the lowest value, cheapest tax.

Parts of Colorado is still open range. You have to fence to keep them out.

I was born and raised in Colorado cattle country and have family still there. That's where I learned about it. It wasn't un heard of that a steer would turn up missing, payment for feed.

Once the reality ... that he ain't getting a free TBN T-shirt ... or coffee cup sets in ... he'll calm down.

So ... the colonoscopy is 2nd prize?

Well, my FIL has caved and decided to help pay for the fencing. Things still apprehensive due to the verbal scarring from the accusations, but they are certainly a turn better.

I guess my FIL decided to be the better person in the whole situation.

Drew - glad you're feeling better.

Randy you too.

Nice pics.

Not a big beach going guy myself. Salt and sand.....vs go to the fresh water clean lake. No sharks, jelly fish, etc.

You guys be careful in the snow. We are getting some much needed rain. Still have cracks in the yard...

I wonder exactly what this statement by enviroment Canada means; Significant snowfall amounts expected Saturday through Sunday morning.
I have seen flurries that amounted to 16" overnight. So what does significant equal in terms or accumulation?

Good evening all. 41F for the start, overcast, light wind. Rain started about 10:30, light to moderate rain, 1/4 in in rain gauge this after noon, low temp was 40F high temp was 45F. Started fire in insert first, then puttered. Went to town for lunch, supplies, changed out cable box. revived fire then napped. Had fishing club meeting tonight.
RNG nice job on the pic.
David love the truck cap and the pics.
Roy hope drive wasn't too bad.
Ron, ask Bird what he got when he became Epic :D
Thomas have fun plowing.
RNG, hate to hear about your insurance woes. Much more fun to read about van and solar progress.
Randy sorry to hear about your HOA experience. Have had one for last 35 years, had to make some personnel changes on first on first one and have been watching the candidates like a hawk. Most of the people here want to take care of the golf course and the lake, and the lake needs help.
Welcome back David/Moss.
Eric, I realize that your sheep don't live forever. Not sure ir is something you look forward to, either. I presume the baby she was carrying was lost too?
David hope you can get more time with all your daughters. Good luck with the house project.
Jay sounds like life is under control, thanks for the pinch info.
Ted, no google shopping here.
Drivesitfar that is a heck of a view.
Randy good to hear about improvement. BIL just had valve replacement, having UTI and nausea issues, still in hospital.
Kyle, wish I could have sent you some of last weeks rain!
prayers for all.
