temp today is 28°F. Wind WSW 8 mph. 60% chance of flurries.

I am looking forward to the ham dinner tonight. Yummy! Ham with maple syrup drizzled over it and a yam given the same treatment.

We got 3" of fresh snow, I don't think I will do anything with it until after noon.

I don't care how old we get, or how sophisticated we get, I am continuously reminded that this world runs on please's and thank yous.
Was nice to wake up to such a nice note from my Hispanic helper. He has to run everything through translator software, my gift last xmas of Rosetta Stone English language has accomplished nothing. I have gently mentioned to him over the last few years and if he learns to speak English fluently, with his smarts, he could earn much more than he does on the pig farm

Coffee is done brewing. 28° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 36° with cloudy skies. About all I got done yesterday way clean walkways. Fired up snowblower to get that done. Did not make it to 9 before falling asleep. Light snow kept falling all day yesterday. Used shovel to clear that and all windblown snow this morning. Still need to make a run to Menards. This morning may be a good time to go. No other plans.

Don, nice raised garden beds are done. Now on to planting seeds. I put the E-Muffins on my shopping list for this week.

Coco woke me up at 4am again to go out to the "bathroom." Since I'm still hunting one last skunk, I took her and enjoyed the stars. Then back in for a nap. Had to go by the vet and get her some thyroid pills...had her tested this week and it looks low. But a second, different test done by the state lab wasn't conclusive...all things considered, the thyroid tabs seem the best approach since she has started losing some hair in the "low thyroid" pattern of a middle aged dog. The trip into town left me no excuse but to stop by the gym and get in a good last workout of 2019.

Today I will split my remaining rounds, stack on a pallet, and get things secured for the coming rain Thursday night, since may not have time tomorrow. Son gave my wife a waffle maker for Christmas, so will get that out and season it...maybe even use it in a little while...it can make two round waffles at the same time...one on top and rotate to make one on the bottom (although for those technical about it, the bottom is now the top).

Buppies, sorry about the Hokies...they looked like they might win until the end.

Turn the page start new chapter...2020,around 9:30pm Mrs. I shut off all the lights put sofa in front of picture window watch wildlife coming and going from feeding with our favor spirits and I enjoy smooth cigar and both kitten had good time...we didn't make to midnight.
Plans for today....Wheel barrow load wood in basement,take plow off pickup,check out couple bowl games,just goof off

29 right now...light snow outside...high today in the mid-30's.

Happy New Year to all my tractor friends! Happy Birthday also.
27 here going to around 33. Had some more light snow overnight, not enough to clean up. Still trying to scrape some of the ice off the driveway at the apartment house.
Will be visiting relatives most of the day to enjoy holiday festivities.(really good food too!) Hopefully won't eat to much and get sick.
Up early this morning with more gout joint pain. Rheumatoid doc wants me to try steroids for six weeks to see if it will go away. Not sure what the next step is if it doesn't work. I don't eat or drink most of the trigger foods for gout.
I will now start my countdown to my Thomas day in October as it is now under 200 work days left to go.(Can't wait. The days are dragging now!)

Morning all!! 38° going to mid 40s.

I’ve found Spanish speaking people (not just Mexicans) to be very warm and friendly. Most are hard workers. Nice note Drew

Gotta fix my French door lock today. The square piece that goes thru lock mechanism between the handles broke. Ordered new piece last week. Should be quick fix, or did I just jinx myself.
Edit, already fixed. That was easy.

Still debating a trip to see dad this weekend. Weather should be ok. Will have to see if I’m up to it.

Time to get moving.

Think I splurge and get an Aunt Annie's jalapeño pretzel. They make fresh ones with no butter at the outlet mall for me.

I still need to transport mulch to the walkways between the new gardens with the FEL, but at least the gardeners can start on soil preparations. It's a little late for greens but potatoes should be planted next month. Cabbage and beets and radishes and carrots and broccoli are being harvested at the gardens at this time and for the next few weeks. My kale is still producing faster than we can cook it. I also planted my carrots, cabbage, broccoli, and beets with the kale but you have to dig though the kale to find them. (the new gardens are behind the person with the red cap)
