Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #102,711
Woke up early yesterday, then fell back asleep and overslept, so didn’t get much done.

County was working on the gravel road next to me, so took ranger to take a look. They had ditched it, graded, was tailgating gravel. Then rolled it with a roller. Has a real nice crown to the road now.

Went down to the creek, where I use the road and their culvert to get to the other side of my property, and couldn’t get in the other side due to a dead tree down across the opening. Will have to take tractor down and push it out. I really need that grapple.

I did use my pole saw (because it starts easier than my Stihl) to cut top out of a dead locust tree that fell into my yard from the ROW. Used that in the fire ring. The rest of the tree has vines and poison ivy, so I left that, will push the rest up into the treeline. I’m on a corner lot, I keep the treeline on the gravel road side overgrown to discourage people from parking and coming up to “borrow” things.

Almost PT time.

Heading to OH in the morning, not tonight in the crazy traffic. Son had to work today, so couldn’t leave early.

Wild snow out west.
I enjoy reading what everyone is up to.

Drew, safe travels up I95.

Randy, get well soon!!

Stomach bug! Ellen got up sick yesterday. I didn’t feel good all day, woke up vomiting at 3 this morning. Happy Thanksgiving! Round two just hit while I was typing this! Happy holidays. LOL
She seems better today so maybe it’s a short time bug.
Hope everybody has a good day, I’ll check in later. Prayers for all. P

Hope you did not eat bad lettuce.

Good Morning! It was 58° early this morning and still 58°. It's a sunny day now and should get to 64° by 2 p.m. then temperature will drop slowly back to the 50's.

I made 1 1/2 gallons of turkey brine last evening, let it cool, then in refrigerator over night. We have a 3 gallon Igloo drink cooler that's perfect for brining turkeys. I cleaned it well, first thing this morning, then put a 14# turkey and a 3# boneless turkey breast in the brine by 6 a.m.

IMG_1083.jpg

RNG ... glad you're getting some rain.

BEF ... you won't regret a grapple. We have an 84" HD Blue Diamond Grapple for the New Holland TL100A and an EA 73" Wicked Grapple for the LS XR4155HC. The grapples are mounted way more than the buckets.

Eric .. I use the same hardboard on my WW shop assembly table. Liking your workbench.

Randy ... hope you and your bride get better soon.

Mr. Bird ... a few years ago Patricia and I hit the road about 6 a.m. Thanksgiving Day headed to meet up with her sister and two brothers, in Branson. About 1 p.m. we stopped at a small family restaurant between Marshall and Texarkana that was open. We had a great Turkey dinner with all the sides. The owners were closing at 2 p.m. to hold a Thanksgiving Dinner with all their employees and their families. Nice memories.

Kyle ... now don't throw rocks at the Telsa truck ... they've already done that.
I like the music ... that group is new to me.

Hope everyone has a great day and excellent Thanksgiving.

Safe travels to all getting on the road. We're having our Thanksgiving at the Richmond house so ... I get to travel 65 miles.

Prayers to all.

45°F and cloudy and windy this morning, going up to 47° today. Wind is gusting up to 50mph, and one report this morning had it at 60mph. The drive into work was an adventure.

The company owner mentioned yesterday that we'd be leaving early today. I don't hate that idea.

Last night, The Wife started putting together a list of things for me to pick up on the way home today. I told her I'd rather do it right then, so I went to WallyWorld in Highland last night. Not interested in battling the last minute crowd today.

That fire pit looks like it worked as advertised, BEF. Nice.

Nice team work loading the genny, David.

Kyle, we hear owls around us pretty much every night. I'll see one every once in awhile. There's no doubt they've been checking over the last couple of years for an opportunity at a chicken dinner.
I've been busier at work as well, and for the same reason. Sometimes it's nice to be the "go-to guy," but most times it's just aggravating. We have a new supervisor in the shop on the tube bending side, and he simply can't handle it. My boss has been inserting me into it to get things done. The Quality Manager side of me keeps balking at getting too involved in the day-to-day production stuff, but the practical side realizes it has to get done somehow.
I have indeed heard of Triumvirat. They were fairly common on a local album-oriented-rock station here when I was growing up. Good stuff, if you're a prog fan (which, based on my screen name, it seems I am).

Nice bench, Eric. I need to build a new one in the barn, but that'll likely wait until Spring.

Had to check, but I do have an album by Triumvirat called Spartacus, and one cut is titled The Capital of Power. The album is a sort of rock opera about Spartacus and the revolt he led:

1 of 9 The Capital Of Power 3:13 Triumvirat Spartacus 1975 Rock
2 of 9 The School Of Instant Pain 6:22 Triumvirat Spartacus 1975 Rock
3 of 9 The Walls Of Doom 3:57 Triumvirat Spartacus 1975 Rock
4 of 9 The Deadly Dream Of Freedom 3:54 Triumvirat Spartacus 1975 Rock
5 of 9 The Hazy Shades Of Dawn 3:09 Triumvirat Spartacus 1975 Rock
6 of 9 The Burning Sword Of Capua 2:41 Triumvirat Spartacus 1975 Rock
7 of 9 The Sweetest Sound Of Liberty 2:35 Triumvirat Spartacus 1975 Rock
8 of 9 The March To The Eternal City 8:47 Triumvirat Spartacus 1975 Rock
9 of 9 Spartacus 7:38 Triumvirat Spartacus 1975 Rock

Thanks for the reminder, Kyle!

Ha ha, me too...Somewhere, I have an old apple crate with vinyl in it. Mostly old metal music. There should be a copy of Spartacus Triumvirat in it. Another favorite LP from back then was Nektar - Remember the future...

Stay out of that stormy weather.

Being sick sux. Hope y'all get better soon. When this happens, it makes me regret eating whatever I ate the last few days....and trying to remember what I ate.

Eric, Nice bench there. Looks heavy duty. Thanks for the compression socks report. Glad they helped you off of medicine.

Hawkeye, glad the grandaughter is getting better. Keep doing your PT for your back.

BEF, you too. Now I can stop worrying so much. :) Safe travels all!

Rich, let us know which turkey you like best. IMO, I like the fried, when served piping hot. But I love smoked turkey cold for lunch meat sandwiches. Hard to beat a home smoked turkey sandwich.

Ron, hope you figure out what your glasses are doing to you. Do you think it's the nose pad cushions? Wonder what they are made of? Some people are allergic to latex.

Couldn't hardly sleep last night. Off today. I'm sure I'll crash for a nap, but have many to do list items. Up early to make coffee, cook bacon (I only ate 1/3 of a strip), let out and feed the chickens....PJS, our chickens want to go into our barn whenever a door is open...They'll sneak in and hide. Maybe they like the calmness (out of the wind).

Brisk breeze out of the northwest and 52F here.

I have so many projects in the barn to do....deciding which to start on. Maybe I'll get out the spare oxy-acetylene torch set, clean it up and sell it.
