Good Morning Everyone!!!!!
My name is Jay and I am a tractor addict.
A mostly clear and sunny 32ºF for today’s low temperature and there were actually some frosty slick spots on the newly mowed field debris during Walk#1; a clear and sunny 45ºF presently; and I anticipate a clear and sunny afternoon high in the mid 50ºF’s. The hot coffee and wood stove taste and feel pretty good at the moment. Despite the lack of available information as to how; I was able to replace the ink cartridges on our printer w/o breaking anything during this morning’s “quiet time” activities. After things dry out more tractor seat time is in today’s plan.
I appreciate all the recommendations given.
Lou- I saw some not so scantily clad models here on TBN popups. I guess that my definition of “scantily clad” vixens is much more liberal.
“… minimize dirt and water once you get it working.”- Just remember it gets older as you get older and rust is working on PTO joints like arthritis is on yours.”- Bruce Thanks for the recommendation and observation. I do not think that neither of my two sprays do much to prevent rust from redeveloping. The PTO shaft and U-joints will be heavily greased for storage and better protected from ice and snow.
Farmer- I am happy to read that your youngest son is + responding to his meds. I hope the pulmonologist figures out what’s driving your son’s illness. I never heard nor read anything about a “sweat test.” I am sorry to read about your other son’s increased moodiness and decreased self-regulation. My + thoughts and prayers for your sons, you, and the rest of your family. I have two sizes of strap wrenches, but neither could get a grip on the ring casing due to all the spray. I almost regressed to expressed profanity trying to use those strap wrenches.
Eric- Thanks for the fungus pics and a good question that I am still pondering. There was an interesting early childhood research experiment once that matched similarly aged boy and girl infants by gender as well as by pupillary response to light stimuli (a test for base IQ). The researchers set up two separate simultaneous choice situations- black boxes with blinking lights and facial pictures of people. There was a statistically significant difference between boys and girls: The boys tended to choose the black boxes with blinking lights and the girls tended to focus on the facial pictures. So it appears that there is some male genetic predisposition towards all things mechanical.
“… normally sane people will drag themselves onto their machinery just to get another high, while others risk heat exhaustion and some take to the slopes in less than perfect conditions.”- The instinctual driving force is strong in this group. It appears that in our own ways were are stimulus junkies.
BEF- Happy birthday wishes for your eldest son and thanks for the laugh.
Drew- Thanks for the link.

When an exhausted 190# dog does not want to move they do not move. That dog did look exhausted. Our St. B’s have gone on sit-down protests on occasion, but never due to exhaustion. St. B’s may be incredibly strong, but I do not think that they have that much endurance.
Check- Thanks for the picture.
Don- I hope that Whipper’s “snake aversion” training works.
I hope that everyone is having a decent day today.
My + thoughts and prayers.
