Drank both cup of coffee. 58° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 75° with 90% chance of rain. Lawn did not get cut yesterday. But I did get some seat time removing roots that have grown next to garage where I am going to put some rubber tiles to keep dirt from splashing on siding. Still have more roots to pull. Will see what I can get done. Betty is not feeling well today.

Good to hear that others are slowly recovering.

Prayers for all.
Prayers for you and Betty!!!!!

Update on daughter (that had accident in May): she is getting better physically, still going to PT and massage, still has some knots they are trying to work out. Her PIPP ran out and now she is using her health insurance and has to wait for referrals to get anything done. She is still waiting for referral to get injections for headaches. She still has intermittent vision issues, seems to be triggered by stress and she knows how to work through that, but the part that really bothers her is the vision issues at dusk or night when driving. She had an eye appt and the only thing they could suggest was to avoid fluorescent lighting and some other things. Her work area has the problem lighting so she got some "F41" glasses that are supposed to help.. She is generally in good spirits though and is staying busy.

We started the deck project Saturday by tearing out some of the old deck, got half done. Rested yesterday and will work on it a few hours each evening this week to get the rest out and then mark out the new deck structure, with hopes of digging holes next weekend (have PHD for tractor to do most of digging).

House painting (wife has been doing some wire brushing and primer, especially on bottom of lap boards) on hold until we get scaffolding back from daughter and SIL building their house, they have about half their roof trusses installed and the other half organized to speed their work.

I found a "job box" cheap on FB Marketplace so they can put the tools in that instead of hoping a tarp will keep them dry in case of rain. Since I want it when they finish, I bought it and loaned it to them.

Glad to hear folks improving that have health issues, growing old is not for sissies that is for sure.

Drew, I had PF back in 1999, almost ended my career in IT (I traveled full time 1999-2001 and was on my feet many hours per day in the data center installing and configuring enterprise storage arrays). My wife and I both got inserts from the "Good Feet Store", not cheap and after a couple months, no more pain. They have an aggressive insert and a relaxed one, we got both and I wore the aggressive one all day every day.. and until the last few months, continued to wear them. I have been going without inserts and no pain. Yes, they are the same inserts, still look as good as new 20 years later. Please note, you cannot start wearing them all day right away, you have to build up to it over a few weeks).

Prayers for those in need, stay safe.

80 degrees early this morning, going for a high of 101, so it looks like a good day to stay in. It's then supposed to cool off and even strong chances of rain the next couple of days. We both went to our doctor's office this morning at 9 a.m. before eating anything for the nurse to draw blood from each of us. We'll go see the doctor next week for the results. But of course it's just a routine physical checkup. I started some country style pork ribs in the crockpot with BBQ sauce this morning, and it got done much quicker than I expected. So it's going to be lazy day today.

We've been talking and thinking a bit about buying a new sofa and recliner for the living room, but trying to decide which ones and from where is a bit mind boggling. Last time we bought was from The Dump, and we have lot of Rooms to Go furniture stores in the area, and the Nebraska Furniture Mart is the biggest and newest in the area. So I don't know where to start.

You just don't know how painful Plantar Faciities can be until you have it. I'd never heard of it until I got it in the Fall of 2008, but fortunately once I got over it, I haven't had it since.

Checking In From Home:

We had an uneventful return home from vacation.

After two days of late PM ADK T-storm activity - impacted on the WIFI at the Inn. I/We found a new (for us) really nice lake to kayak. Lewey Lake and its outlet- Miami River. The 1.5 mile trip across the lake and return in wind ~5 - 10mph really stressed Wifeyç—´ wrists, but we did had a great paddle. An amazing amount of beaver dam engineering was apparent:cool:.. I have no clue as to how far we paddled through the meandering river ( as a crow flies it was >.5 miles). I/We will be back next year (and with a waterproof camera; maybe GPS). If we make it to next year in decent health We hope to have a kayaking itinerary for the area including this lake. We did 4 short streams, two lakes, and and island this year.

The weather was decent, and We had a great time with BIL and GF at the Inn and discovering the history of the Adirondacks. The Robber Barons and Railroad Tycoons invested heavily in the ADK in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Many "Great Houses" were built along the navigable lakes; railroads were built to connect the lakes and steamships were built for lake transport. Quite a few of these High $players ended up broke.

Drew- Nice RV:cool:

Kyle- A belated Happy Anniversary. I hope you both had a decent day celebrating.

"My late wife and I were married 42 years, when you get there you aren't looking for the pretty girl you met, you're just happy waking up with your best friend.? Randy Wifey and I have been together for 43 years, I do not remember how many years We have been married; but your description of "best friend" applies.

BEF and Randy- It reads like progress, albeit slowly, is being made with home based services. I hope you both continue to build strength and endurance and BEF your neuropathy ultimately subsides. I am way too familiar with neuropathic pain; restful sleep is a rarity.

RonJH & Betty- My continued + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for you both.

I hope that everyone has a decent start to the workweek. My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Sounds like a great trip, Jay. The Wife and I used to enjoy canoeing on the Black River through southeast Missouri, but we haven't done that in several years. Never been in a kayak. They look like a lot of fun.
