Yesterday afternoon, it got cloudy, a little north breeze, and you could even smell the rain, but there was heavy rain both north and south of us, but not here. However, this morning I did find about .07" of rain in my gauge. And it was only 72 degrees, but going for 95 of course.

Roy, glad that Suzette is feeling better. Be patient while she shops...;)

Yeah, she's been doing pretty good, and will continue to do so as long as she takes the meds as per prescription.
Although I don't care to shop...I'm normally in and done in 10 minutes or so...this is Suzette's day out and I'll ensure she enjoys it

Good Morning!!!! 69F @ 7:15AM. Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. High near 90F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.

Rip, I don't think you can buy a vehicle these days without too much tech. And all those bells & whistles often kill the reliability rating and bewilder both owners and the dealers that have to fix 'em.

Hope things go well for the boat ride, Drew. Plenty of water around if sparks develop...:D

Had one more try at disassembling the jack shafts off the van yesterday, this time using a torch to heat up the parts before prying on them. Still no go, so I think I'll have to give up. That means giving 'em another bath in the parts washer, loading the bearings with Caterpillar grease, and reinstalling them and the front diff to see if the vibrations persist.

No question that JD tractors sell at a premium, but it also seems that, at least when it comes to the FEL, they're built heavier and won't suffer the same issues as the little Kubota I have now. One thing I've looked for and haven't seen are bushed pivots in the FELs. Those pivots to wear, and without an easy to replace bush, will need laborious and expensive machining to get the play out. Anybody ever seen an FEL on a compact tractor that uses bushes in the pivots?

But I think today I'll probably end up doing some paint prep on the house, as the Behr ten year guaranteed paint is badly peeling on the eves.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend...

Good Morning. It was 75°F this morning and humid. Forecast say 95°F here this afternoon and no serious rain chances for the next week.

Last of Independence Day guests left this morning and the quiet is welcome. Now back to a more regular schedule. .

Missed church getting everyone on the road so, tractor maintenance today and need to sharpen or replace the Kubota ZT blades. This sandy soil dulls them pretty quickly.

I had two wheel bearings fail on one of the rear finish mower back wheels. And after inspection, looks like the the one, on the other side is failing as well. They used sealed ball bearings with rubber seals instead of metal seals for some reason. I could find the bearing in town yesterday so ordered some online but won't get them till Thursday. Long term, I'm going to look for some replacement 3" x 8" wheels with greaseable bearings, at least for the two rear wheels. Someone mentioned some, on another thread, but now I can't remember which thread. . The wheels mentioned, were for 1/2" shafts and mine shafts are 3/4".

David .... sorry to hear about your tire issues. I doubt you'll ever be happy with the R1's. I've got R1's on the 100 hp New Holland and R4's on the 55 hp LS.

92/107 and I'm staying in for the afternoon.
had a really fun time out on the water, anchored out and floated around on some noodles in a quiet spot. Water was warm, had to be 80 at least.
But as always after boating, I'm ready for a nap.

Checking In-

A sunny 62ºF for today’s low temperature. 79ºF presently; probably today’s high temperature. With the lower humidity a beautiful day to putter about in the garden most of the day.

The USA Woman’s soccer team dominated the 2nd half of play against the Netherlands team. A pretty win for the USA.

Drew- I am happy to read that you had a decent day on the water. Thanks for the video. I was always very careful about sailing when there existed a potential for T-storms. I have a 22’ lightning rod on my sailboat. It looked like that sailboat blew out its chainplates with that lightning hit (or worse). For all the regional weather media hoopla yesterday we saw a couple of spits of rain that evaporated as soon as they hit the concrete deck.

I hope Randy is ok.

“Rip, I don't think you can buy a vehicle these days without too much tech. And all those bells & whistles often kill the reliability rating and bewilder both owners and the dealers that have to fix ‘em.”- RNG. I agree.

I hope that everyone had a decent weekend.

My +thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Got the lawn mowed, the shopping done and we brought home sandwiches for an afternoon "Lupper" (if they can refer to a late morning breakfast as "brunch", what's the term for a late afternoon lunch or an early supper? Gotta be Lupper, Linner, or Dunch...right?)

Home from camping. Was hot, humid, with severe thunderstorms.
The camper bed is ok for a couple nights, but after that my hips really hurt.
Yesterday started having weakness in my legs, like they didnt want to work. Today more of the same. Think ill see the doc again.

Backed camper into it's spot, and knocked over the fence behind it. Couple posts were rotted and leaning already. Tapped it with bumper and down it went.

The new griddle was great while camping. Did bacon, eggs, pancakes, hamburgers, and grilled peppers, onion, zucchini on it. The latter in the middle of a huge downpour last night.
Did have trouble with the gas regulator, would get low flame, would have to crack line open then close before regulator, then it worked fine.

Yesterday visited an old country store in kings gap pa, then visited the kings gap mansion. Interesting place up on a mountain.

RNG ..... I wonder if the fires reduced the life of your house paint?

I don't think so, as the peeling started last year before the fire. It was supposed to be one of those primerless paints, but that didn't work out so well in this case.:censored::banghead::pullinghair:

Saturday was mowing day.. mowed the lawn in the morning and decided to mow some pasture in the afternoon.. sure is nice to mow when only a foot high, instead of the 3-5 ft I usually let it get to.. the farmer renting our ground is not very good at weed control.. had to mow some thistle at the edge, took some crop too since it would not be harvested with the thick weeds.. Went well... got enough done, have some spraying to get done this week. Oldest daughter and 3 grand kids visiting next week, gonna be some fun..

Good evening all. 73F for the start, partly cloudy, light wind. Wind was on the light side, Sky mostly clear and high temp of 98F. Chapel to start day, made wife hot cereal, and went to help move stepdaughter's boyfriend. He had a 300-400 lbs gun safe, every thing else was no problem. Had to stop for lunch about mid-day then finished for the day about 3:15. Nap finished day off.
Drew, glad you had a good day boating, had a friend of mine hit by some lightning while pulling boat out of lake, enough power to burn under his wedding ring :thumbdown:
Buckeye, quite the video of the collapse. Nice camping pics.
Randy is on his honeymoon:cloud9:, do you really expect to hear from him?
Roy, I trust you showed your wife a good day today.
prayers for all

Good morning all. No rain expected, light cloud and not rising above 18C/64F. Great conditions for getting things done outside in comfort.

Spectacular video Drew !

Some of you keen weather watchers may already have heard about the place in France that recently recorded their "highest ever" temperature. It turns out that instead of being sited over grass away from other structures, the weather station had been positioned above concrete, next to a fence, not far from a busy road.
France’s new ‘hottest recorded temperature ever’ is in question – guess where it was measured? | Watts Up With That?
