Coffee is done brewing. 66° with fog this morning, Heading to 88° with scattered thunderstorms. Several thunderstorms passed passed my area throughout the day. Left 3/4" of rain. Got some outside projects started without getting wet. Not sure what I will do today. Going to be to hot and humid.

Drew, hope waterlines got repaired. If pump is under house. I assume you do not have a submersible pump.

David, looking forward to more pictures.

Eric, great picture.

Randy's last day to recover. Prayers sent.

Buckeye, hope meds are doing the job getting rid of the pneumonia.

Prayers for all healing.

Good Morning All.

thanks, no, I'm on city water, good pressure, t'd off main line for new line underground to garden.
Inline booster pump, stainless steel, made for irrigation and sprinklers. Would be interesting to put gauge on output side, see
how much pressure the pump is adding. What is interesting is that when pump is off, water flows through it just fine getting to garden.
I just turn it on when I'm running two sprinklers at once. And running it for three or four hours day before yesterday doing the whole garden might have overheated it,
cheesy pump if it did...And the pump is stainless, not some thermoplastic so just how much could it expand with the heat?

One thing for sure, with metal piping, I'm hoping this is the last episode with this pump, second time it has let loose and flooded the crawl space.
A crawl space I had professionally remediated for mold. Large commercial dehumidifier down there will be running a long time, but it will dry it out.

My plumber is a good guy, and embarrassed this thing fell apart again. I told him to replace as much of the piping with metal as he could.
Wondering if putting pump on rubber feet or pad would help reduce vibration. I have some old horse stall rubber floor padding, might stick that under pump, specifically under wooden board under pump.

78 degrees this morning, going for a high of 93. I got the lawn sprinklers going front and back this morning at 5 a.m. for the first time this year. We've had way more than our normal rainfall early this year, but none since the 23rd of last month. And just the last 2 days, I've been killing flies in the house; don't know how or where they get in, but I guess it's that time of year.

Tomorrow, I'll need to mow.

Hope everyone had a nice 4th of July!

We (Suzette and I) didn't do much... I watched about an hour of the celebration in Washington. I kind of wish I were there...and I'm glad no evil crap went on!

Anyway...
60 right now...high today in the high 80's.

Good morning! A warm dry morning, no dew, brisk wind from the SE 78˚F heading to the mid 90s. The neighborhood July 4th decorated golf cart parade came in front of the house yesterday but by the time I realized it the last cart was in front of the house so no pics. Several options on things to do today, i'll think about them, but none involve face mask and goggles while mowing and sweating.

Randy, hope you have recovered for your big day!

Bird hope you got good results for test.

Yeah, I forgot to mention the results. They did the tests one day, then I had to go back the next day for the results. But the doctor said it all looks "normal for my age" In other words, maybe a 10% blockage in one artery.:D Nothing to be concerned about.

Sounds like all had a happy 4th, wish the big DC celebration had been broadcast, maybe it was, but not locally?

Daughter that has vision problem is getting better every day, praying for complete recovery. She is still having headaches (starts in back where headrest hit the back of her head) nearly constant.. she is hoping to get her car back in the next week, wants to drive again (she hasn't driven since the accident due to vision and headaches).

Was planning a quiet lazy day at home yesterday, browsing FB marketplace, found a JD Gator powerwheels for $25 on marketplace 20+ miles away. Messaged we wanted it, loaded up wife and grand daughter in truck, off we went. Gator had major tire damage and was too small for grand daughter, but they also had a quad that she fit on and I got it for $30. I asked the wife if she felt up to driving some more, there was some scaffolding I was interested in an hour further... sure, so messaged that seller and off we went. Got the scaffolding (need it to paint house). We ended up driving about 210 miles, very tired when we got home.. Grand daughter had a blast riding the "new" powerwheels. Now we have 3 so when my other grand kids come next week, they won't fight over them so much..

70°F and no rain.
A great 4th celebration, tons of good food, 46 people.

Hope to get flail mounted on new LS and attempt some mowing today. Of course, I managed to quietly introduce my new tool to friends yesterday. They were impressed. One of my favorites was a neighbor who bought new comparable size orange about 2 years ago tried to summarize by telling me I didn’t get 0% 5 yr financing. I agreed, but I added that getting the quick attach loader, hydrostatic trans, telescoping 3point, adjustable stabilizers, etc and paying $5k less was an acceptable trade off for me. His facial expression was quite rewarding. We remain good friends 🤙

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Checking In-

We arrived home yesterday by way of the barbecue joint. There was very little road traffic on the highways and byways. Fireworks do not do much for me anymore; televised fireworks even less so; I was asleep before 9:00PM. I was happy to read that there was no wing nut violence in DC. It seems that everyone here had a decent July 4th.:D

A sunny 57ºF low this AM with today’s high a sunny 86ºF. After bailing Brogen from the gulag I spent today mowing, weeding, and mulching are garden with more of the same planned for tomorrow after the dump and fuel run. I have not mowed the upper “lawn” this year due to nesting tree swallows. The grass is +3’; I hope the JD D130 rider can handle the grass.

RonJH- Wifey, AKA CFO, was none too happy when BOA recently took 10 days to clear a rather sizable check from Morgan Stanley (Bank).. She talked her way up BOA’s “service” rep food chain and got a consistent answer- “It’s policy.” It’s policy to gouge the customer.

Farmer- I hope you and family have a great vacation.

BEF- I hope that you are able to enjoy Gettysburg and take care.

Hawkeye- I am happy to read that your Daughter’s vision continues to improve;. I hope the headaches diminish soon.

David- I am happy to read your July 4th celebration went well. I am the only drone and tractor owner within my immediate circle of friends.

Drew- I was wondering what those flowering trees we saw along our travels were thanks for the ID.:)

I hope Randy is ok.

My + thoughts, wishes, and pryers.

Im going to buy a iPad for my wife for her Spanish lesson apps. Her notebook gets to hot outside holding it. Any words of wisdom from experienced iPad owners on specifics to look for?

We have 3 iPads. A iPad mini 4 32gb, iPad 9.7 5th generation 128gb and a iPad 9.7 pro 2016 32gb. We do not use the mini. Prefer the 9.7 size.
If she is going to use the speakers the pro is best with 4 speaker. While the other 2 have have 2 speakers on one end. The pro will work with Apple Pencil and Keyboard.
Pro has 12mp camera
Others have 8mp camera.
Beyond that you can get WiFi and cellular. The mini and pro have both. Since we use our iPads at home and plus iPhone when away. We no longer use cellular on our iPads.
There are other models that are cheaper like the air models. I have no knowledge about them.
We have our iPads mounted on floor stands. That keep us from looking down at screen. Saves your neck.

tx-I use my iPad mini for just about everything possible. Just get the latest one available and you will be good for a long time. My mini is at least 3 years old and still runs great. We have an original ipad here that is many many years old and still works.

Didn't take long for the heat to get up today. Working on installing a new electrical service drop to pole barn. Need to put a hole in roof for drop. Roof was so hot at 10 o'clock this morning. That I burnt my finger when I pushed plumb bob string against roof from inside of barn. Will try to get out earlier tomorrow.

Got a turkey with a bunch of chicks using field on east side of house. A hawk tried to get one of the chicks. Female Turkey flew about 15' into the air attacking the hawk. Feathers flying all over the place. Never seen a turkey fly that high before. Hawk has been back. But has not tried to make a run at chicks again. No pictures or videos.

Truly wild turkeys are what they are = survivors. I wish I was so gifted as you with experiencing the hawk-turkey interaction. I can visualize it; it does not surprise me. For their size/shape they are incredibly maneuverable. They really should be our National Bird.

Slow day at work, glad it is Friday, I needed a slow day after the drive yesterday.. I might mow in the pasture when it is cool in the morning.

Ron & mpham, thanks for the info on the iPads? Costco has a sale on the 11" pro 64GB, kind of leaning that way because of the speakers.

Ron that bird fight ranks right up there with the coral snake eating the copperhead. Right time right place and you can see nature's survival of the meanest.

Good evening all. Yesterday got back late from watching the fireworks from the boat, so did not post hot dry partly cloudy, windy day. Stepdaughter's boyfriend smoked brisket and ribs with two different rubs and her neighbor brought green been and stepdaughter mad a salad.
Drew Crepe Myrtle are blooming here as well.
This morning, 77F for the start, light wind, overcast. Sky cleared to partly cloudy, moderate wind and gusty, and high temp of 92. Bike ride early, then finish parking the boat , fix the mailbox, and run to town for shopping and dinner.
Drew hope you get your plumbing squared away.
Don how were the non rib ribs?
prayers for all.

Don, you might consider a BT speaker, to link to your iPad or iPhone. We bought the Photive from Walmart and have been very happy with it. You get a solid 10-12 hours on a charge.

We use it for music on the patio or pool daily. It has really great sound.
