Good morning!!!!

good morning all.

Rick, your place looks great, lot of work to keep it that nice.

headed downtown this morning to drug store, need to get antibiotics for tick bite, the very last thing I need
is Lymes disease. Spent some time organizing tomatoes on the counter, taking a big bag of veggies to garden club meeting
for lunch, last meeting for summer. Last year the potatoes were up by this time and I brought in baby red potatoes, they sure went over well.
I have one beautiful eggplant to bring in. Would love to see expressions on faces of ladies to see if they want to be the one to snag it.

wow has the weather changed. We go from almost a month of no rain, to a week of constant rain and thunderstorms, weather looks wet every day until middle of next week. Potato field harvest is on the 15th, and we can't harvest if soil is wet. But at least until then, the moisture will sure help the taters grow.
Lot of bugs in the white potatoes, some areas looked pretty nasty. Red potatoes seem more immune, probably why locals who plant potatoes often plant
Red Pontiac. They are the largest in my field. Digging up the $2.89 per pound red new potatoes now. Two weeks later, the larger taters go for .69 a pound.
Ah youth.....

Not going to get much done, need to stay clean this morning, then it will rain this afternoon. I need to clean out the garden shed, still have the "dinner dirty dishes" from the last batch of seedlings, need to organize and put all the trays away. No garden fairies showed up to do it...

Ron, glad to you got those tools to working.

66 degrees going for 84 today with a 20% chance of a shower this afternoon. The 50% chance each of the last 2 days didn't happen.

Gotta take the wife to the younger daughter's this morning and leave her overnight; supposedly to help with some packing for a hoped for move next week.

Poured first cup of coffee. 51° with light fog this morning. Heading to 79° with lots of sun. Did get a few weeds pulled yesterday. A few more today. I may be losing the battle. Hope to get fields and lawn cut today.

Drew, glad Dr found the tick and other spot was not a problem. I have found more ticks this year than other years. About 5 so far. Check the dogs every time they go out. Have not found one on them yet.

Rick, great pictures of your park. It started using Super Lube for my boat out-drive grease. Always have one of those 4 oz bottles or tube of grease handy for lubing things. Lucas is good also.

Eric, pictures are worth many words.

Randy and Buckeye, get well soon. Special Prayers sent.

Good Morning All.

Late start.....dozed off by the pool as the sun came up. Working too hard.
71 outside this AM heading to lower 80's.
Not much on the agenda today. Will attempt to trap another stray cat that showed up.
TGIF

Have a great day all. Be safe.

you need rest....and some prayers.

Thanks for the gravel tip my friend.
Getting off the couch and walking to the barn is the only thing i did yesterday. My son put the mower away no problem. I put a chair by the bay window and watched him mow from inside. His first time mowing with the ZT, he did great. Some wasted running around, but i wasnt going to criticize, he's just getting used to it.

Spent more time watching WW2 videos. Rewatched the overlord segment.

65° and overcast.

Out here they have what they call three quarter minus road base. It's crushed rock, all of which must pass through 3/4" mesh. Lots of fines to help lock it down, but it does tend to get dusty in the summer when it dries out. Beware of round pebbles in the mix, as they never seem to stay in place, floating to the top and acting like little ball bearings. If possible, go to the quarry or yard and look at the material before you order it so you know what you'll be getting.
I need to order a load of that myself. Going to put a gravel pad behind the barn to set the trailer on.

72°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 81°. Expecting some rain later today.

Watched a great hockey game last night. One more win and the Stanley Cup goes to STL for the first time ever. Fun times around here.

Nice pictures, Rick.

Good morning! 68˚F heading to the 90s.
Thought of you Drew yesterday while watching the SC Garden's drew load up his SUV with boxes and boxes of carrots and tomatoes and onions to take to the food pantry. Also when I arrived at my garden they were hauling off a fresh kill 4' rattle snake that was in the pocket park 20 ft. from my garden. My lizard is gone.:grumpy: Since the ground was muddy from the shower the night before I just used the wheel barrow to help the widow next door to my garden get some mulch. I did not want the garden tractor to look like Ricks for 10 minutes of seat time.

I went through the filing cabinet and got all the tractor manuals and service records organized and made a nice little notebook for the Horticulture Club. Now I feel organized. The SIG leader had all the other machines in his books but everyone I talked to thought someone else was taking care of the tractor records. So I adopted the job.

A little attic floor work early and window cleaning today.

I signed up for the new laser wood working class, but there were 23 people ahead of me for the 6 person class. they promise to have several classes very quickly to take care of the overload of people wanting to learn the new machine.

I think it's the warmest morning of the year so far 47°. Yesterday was mostly sunny tell the afternoon. End up getting a pretty good shower just after dark. Today is going to be partly cloudy in the 70's with the wind increasing to 20-30 mph by the afternoon.

I did get a few things done yesterday afternoon. Talked to a neighbor and he asked if I could help him work on his deck. Not sure what he plans on doing but told him to call when he gets started. I'm not sure about the rest of the day.

Hope everyone has a good start to the weekend.
CWB.

71 and been raining since 3:30am...Not complaining/need it...got good and wet out feeding the birds and emptying the rain gauge and giving Coco her morning dose of frisbee throws. Should get to 81.

Toppop, I'm thankful to your dad and the thousands of other heroes 75 years ago. Hope you continue to recover.

Paul, sorry to hear about your wife's uncle.

BEF, go slow. Nice that you have your son to break in that new Z...I bet he is liking it, like a go-kart.

Thomas, sounds like a productive day and enjoyable evening seeing those bears.

Rick, beautiful pix. I have that same 1/2 inch Earthquake from HF and like it...thinking of getting their air gun stapler to redo our screened porch...$20 after discount is worth it to me rather than using my old manual staple gun with my bad thumbs. I've never used an air nailer or stapler...always went the old fashioned way.

Found a pin hole leak in one of the copper water supply lines under the house...decided to get a plumber...fairly quick fix, but he found a crack in a gray water iron pipe (washing machine) that feeds to a different drain field than the septic field. Didn't have time left to replace it, and he's heading to Alaska today, so will find alternate plan.

Good morning. It was 72°F this morning with clear sky and headed to 92°F this afternoon. Humidity is at 93% this morning so heat index will probably get to 100°F by mid afternoon.

Drew .... the story on Mr. Higgins is very interesting. I'd seen pictures of some of his ideas but, your story is more complete on all he did. Early oil / gas exploration, on the Gulf Coast, created lots of entrepreneurs, developing some very interesting machines for transport. Sorry about your tick but, still better than what you were envisioning.

BEF .... glad you're continuing to feel better. I'm thinking that watching someone else mow ..... might not be such a bad thing? As it gets hotter, I do more of our 9 acre yard around the house with the 55 HP tractor and RFM. The new Kubota ZT's A/C is pathetic.

Randy ... I hope your rehab is going well.

Don .... Rattle snakes hiding in gardens .....not good. I did chase down a copperhead with the ZT last week. He stuck his head up at just the wrong time, as my blades ..... went thru his mind.

WNG .... pneumatic stapler is a good idea. Just make sure that the HF stapler uses standard staples. I've got a Porter Cable and easy to get various length staples for it. I agree with your take on manual staplers. https://www.amazon.com/PORTER-CABLE-NS150C-2-Inch-Narrow-Stapler/dp/B008YOENNY

With our recent rains, it's still too wet to mow the "Park" yet, the grass keeps growing.

I think I'll take Ron's lead and lube my old Kobalt air impact wrench. I rarely use it since we got the HF Earthquake wrench. I've got a 10 year old Dewalt angle grinder that starting to make noise so, I might take it apart and put new grease in its gearbox.

A visit to feed store and a haircut should finish my day.

Everyone have a great Friday and weekend.

Prayers to all.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Had my son drive me down to a local italian place to pick up my favorite chicken cheesesteak sub. Sure beats the peanut butter sandwiches I've been having for lunch.

AC on a ZT, just go faster, lol.

I have an electric stapler i really like.

The new Kubota ZT's A/C is pathetic.
C'mon just go a little faster...:D

I have to go out and do a little mowing now, before the rains come and it's pretty sticky out there.
Nice garden club lunch, they really liked my veggies, one lady scarfed up that egg plant within the first minute.
I got to my seat and mentioned to my next seatmate I was curious who got my first and sole eggplant. She turned red, and
happily admitted she got it! She adores eggplant and said it was the perfect size and she couldn't resist.
All good. Those ladies there for awhile truly know you snooze you lose, they are not shy at all taking things from giveaway table.

Ear started acting up half way through and had to leave early but well fed and content.

Don, I think my neighbor has the same tractor, or his uncle across the road does.

got my doxycyclin or however it's spelled, lymes disease antibiotics. My body does not need more prescription medicine in it, now back on steroids, and what
a whopper dose they gave me. 4 pills a day? Plus the Niacin was doubled. I'm going to be red as a tomato...back sure will feel good though.
Have to look on the brighter side, assuming there is one.

I am thankful I have a good friend, a retired doc, who I run things by. I'll ask him about the dosage, he knows more about the rest of my body than the ENT
guy does, who seemed to just wave off my issued concern over contraindications with all those steroids going in. Same thing with the antibiotics.
The same way I put my investments into Morningstar to track them, I wish someone had an online drug interaction site where you could load all your meds and see if the
software squawks. I already cut my primary arthritis med, Celebrex, back to one pill a day. Stuff is hard on the heart. And I have no idea what the other meds
are hard on. Very important to look at forest here and not the trees. Not sure specialists do that...

going to work on Craig's List ad for 1968 Cub Cadet tonight. Need to keep decluttering.

big thunderstorms moving across VA and NC. We just got 1 1/2 inches in less than an hour.
Chased in by black clouds, got my mowing done. Made a pot of fresh coffee and going to do some office work.
Power was off for over an hour, must have been the storm messing up something West of me.
