Condolences to PJ and wife. 72 is just too young.
Bird, did NOT know you should lube air tools when done
In many cases, especially if you use the tool every day, if you have a dryer on your air lines, etc., it may not be a big deal at all. But as with many things, moisture, which leads to corrosion, is your enemy. So after use, if you put 2 drops of oil into the air intake, give it a very short blast of air to distribute the oil, and put it away, it'll last many, many years. My only impact wrench now is a very old Ingersoll-Rand (IR 231) which became one of my favorite models when I was working on them. Incidentally, you CAN NOT hurt anything by putting too much oil in the air intake, any surplus will just be blown out the exhaust. Of course it might be a little messy but it sure won't hurt the tool.
Good morning all,
50 and a clear blue sky right now. It rained some yesterday, fields are looking nice.
From reading this thread it sounds like there are a few with some health issues. There is something going around here too. Lots of respiratory issues, me included. I went to the doctor yesterday and got some meds. Sure hope it fixes me, tired of not being able to breath.
Short but very sad story here;
A neighbor has a 10 year old niece living in Afton Wyoming. She got a cut on her leg, mom cleans it up puts bandaid on it. Girl complains for days that it hurts, finally she takes a picture of it and sends to my neighbor. They see picture and said get her to the hospital asap. Local hospital takes a look, loads her on a plane flys her to SLC children's hospital they proceed to amputate her leg clear up to the hip joint. After a day or two she is still not doing well. Yesterday more surgery, the infection is still going up. They tell the family she might not live through this. I do not have more details than what I've said but it sounds like mom should have paid a little more attention to her daughters complaints of pain. I hope you'all would include this little girl in your prayers. She'll be in ours.
Prayers for all, have a nice day.
They are all good people, Kyle. As for the relationships, there is so much past drama sitting at that table that I'd almost be embarrassed to recount it all. It certainly wouldn't be a PG-13 story. I think the drummer and I are about the only ones in that group who didn't meet our wives/girlfriends while playing somewhere.
"Unplugged" acoustic stuff is all the rage right now, at least around here. The guy at the near end of the table, the guy on the right leaning back, and myself used to be an acoustic trio called Happy Little Trees. It was a fun group.

May as well give you introductions around the table clockwise.
Tom in the blue shirt is the guitar player for the Sammy Hagar tribute band, and I've played with him in several other bands as well, he's a human juke box, and is originally from Baton Rouge. He's an IT hardware guy at a major hospital.
Amy is a friend of the couple across from her.
Laurie used to own a popular club and restaurant in the area.
She is dating Todd next to her, who was the first person I met in Kindergarten, and is the finest guitar player I've ever met. He's always been a professional musician.
Dawna is my Wife, next to me.
Roberta is Bobby's wife.
Bobby is the drummer for the Hagar tribute band, and several other bands I've played in, and they are both originally from Troy OH, then Dallas, now St. Louis. He's a retired printing industry executive.
Derrick (hiding) is a guitar player currently playing bass in a local Queensrÿche tribute band. He's an aircraft mechanic and a licensed pilot.
Kelle (also hiding) is his girlfriend.
Virgil (known as "Spankey", and hiding as well) is a drummer in several rock and country bands. He runs his own transportation expediting company.
Meghan is his girlfriend.
Katrina is Deron's girlfriend.
Deron is the guitar player who convinced me to buy a bass guitar in 1982, and has been my best friend since we met in Jr High concert band in 1978. He's an IT software guy for a local hospital.
Yvette is Rob's wife.
Rob is the bass player for the world renown Conquest, a legendary St. Louis based band who are kind of a big deal in the heavy metal world. He owns a construction company that does period-correct restorations on historical buildings around the STL area.
Spent most of the day watching WW2 films.
66°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 86° today. Going to be cloudy all day, but they've removed any chance for rain.
We got a decent downpour late in the evening yesterday. Came with some lightning and thunder, but didn't last too long. Lost our satellite internet for most of the evening, though.
Wife's uncle had a problem a few years ago keeping weight on. VA doctors couldn't find anything wrong with him for a long time. Turned out to be cancer. They were able to beat it into remission last year, but apparently it came back with a vengance recently. He was back in the hospital earlier this week, and they determined there was nothing more they could do. He went back home on Tuesday, and died yesterday at 72.
My dad stepped off that boat a 19 year old farm boy, but he lost his youth and innocence that morning. But he was a heck of a man, worked hard, not much nonsense, loved his family, add that to saved the world, it makes a pretty strong resume!
It stayed damp and in low 60's most of the day. Did not get field cut. When it got nice enough to cut fields. Wife reminded me that I had a 3:30 Dr appointment.
Did get all 4 of my impact wrenches working. 3/8" had little to no lube in gear box. It is a Kobalt. Other failed impact is a 1/2" Kobalt. Similar problem. Lubed and put back together. Both work good now. The other two 1/2" impacts work. But are old.
