Sir James Dyson, the man who made a fortune out of vacuum cleaners, has been buying up lots of land in England. He now owns more than the Queen. All arable crops I think, no beef

Bison burgers are good, lean.

Tasty ?
Dyson burgers would suck

Drinking first cup of coffee. 46° with light rain this morning. Heading to 70° with more rain all day. .9 rain overnight. Flooded freeway and roads around Metro Detroit. Glad I do not have to get out on those roads.
Did not get aerator and rotary cutter out. But did put them on to do list. Take dog in for her annual checkup this morning. Then wait for Comcast to come out and replace cable box. It has failed to restart after being off several time in the last couple of weeks. No other plans.

Buppies, hope the reports a good. 90°, welcome to May.

Mostly, is there a procedure on how to get a 2 1/2 hour nap.

Rich, glad the visit went well.

Lynn, weather has been unusual this year. Please so not send that white stuff my way.

Hawkeye, enjoyed out visits to Tillamook when we spent spring break with our son and his family. We rented a house in Lincoln. Some of the best Ice cream and cheese around. We did it 3 years in a row.

Good Morning All

The best around here is in Paige TX or Bastrop TX at the Roadhouse burgers (not to be confused with Texas Roadhouse) and it has a good black bean burger.
Good memories going there for a good meal.

Dyson burgers would suck

good one, 50 percent more sucking power too!!

another nice warm day on tap here, going to spray potatoes with foliar fish/kelp food, then I have a sweet persimmon tree to plant, then
will probably wash my truck.

Buppies, all negative reports. I think I have another bad guy growing on my jaw, near where they took one melanoma off years ago.
I can't imagine my third melanoma is going to be a charm... so all basal cells if we please.

Fun to still hear about snow.

Buckeye, my father spent every penny he had putting four of us through college and even my cousin, whose father took off and left, with their family
moving in on our farm. So my cousin went to college too.
You always want your kids to have the best opportunities.

I saw my last room/board/tuition bill. $3,250 That bought a nice car back then too.
I then had to earn a thousand more for books, and everything else.

speaking of college, wow this made me sad, not all that far from me.
UNC Charlotte shooting: An all-too-familiar scene plays out on the final day of classes. - CNN
hard to imagine getting your child through college and having them gunned down at the end.
Crazy people on the loose.

I don't think my local fast foods offer any form of veggie burger

72 degrees this morning, going for a high of 77. Yesterday evening, I guess starting around 6 p.m. we had the tornado warning sirens going, the TV regular broadcasts interrupted by continuous weather reporting, etc. Of course, as usual it turned out to be "severe" weather only in a few places. Supposedly even a tornado touched down briefly and took out some big trees in NE Denton. NWS shows Denton Airport only got .60" of rain, while my gauge got about 1.22"; just a moderately heavy rain, some wind, but nothing serious.

Now my yard (not good enough to call a "lawn" this year) has been a mess with more weeds and such than grass. So, just before the rain started, I applied a heavy dose of Scotts TB Weed & Feed, so it definitely got watered. I'm not sure how much good it'll do since you're supposed to apply it to wet grass on a windless day and I applied it to dry grass on a windy afternoon.

63 ...a cool ocean breeze blowing thick fog in all the way here. Should see mid 80s again today.

Can't believe I was so close to Tillamook a few years ago, and didn't know about it. If I get back, I look forward to trying it out.

Eric, I always thought Dyson was hype until I bought one a few months ago. Definitely worth its high price to me.

Wife back in NC. Packing up things...her parents move in one week. We went and tested a new bed (mattress) for them yesterday. She took my advice...let's move their existing bed, then let them go try out new ones here...rather than us picking it out. She wants everything complete and perfect when they move in to the new place, which is admirable, but not realistic is every detail. Anyone buy a mattress from Original Mattress Factory? I like their products, but the salesman says they do not negotiate or ever have sales...always offer their best price.

Turned over 40,000 miles on my truck yesterday...noticing a little wear on the tires already :). Seems like only yesterday I was driving it home for the first time. I've been real happy with it, so hoping it will go another 300,000 or 400,000 miles or so...in other words, maybe outlast me.

Good morning to all! Low of 43, going up to 70 today, sunny and "breezy" as the forcaster called it....Wind at 30-35, gusts to 40... I call that WINDY!

Buppies, prayers sent for good news.

Lynn, hopefully all the white stuff will melt off and just make everything green up faster!

Didn't get out to the shop yesterday to work on the quilt rack, got stopped in my tracks by the weed-wacker....that was an all day affair...hour on, hour off to rest the knee. The front yard is done, back yard / corrals another day!

Today requires a CostCo run, bathe the dog, then? ...probably will be enough.

Saw a news report last night talking about costs of college and student debt. Tuition at some of the big name colleges is as much as $75,000 per year...$300,000 for a BS....that is just BS. My daughter has student loan debt over $100K for her 2 Master's degrees. No wonder kids can't get ahead!

Have a great day, prayers sent.

Good Morning!!!! 56F @ 5:15AM. Sunny. High 79F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

As I recall, the Spruce Goose is at an air museum fairly close to the Tillamook Cheese Factory. Visited both on a motorcycle trip more than a few years ago, and enjoyed them.

Cloudy and cool yesterday, with dark clouds and sprinkles, just as I was about to start the awning installation on the van. It was only a brief shower, part of a larger cell that passed to the east. Had to cut, shorten, and weld all the awning brackets, so that turned into an all day affair. Used the forks on the tractor to lift the 12' awning into place, suspending it from a pair of ratchet straps. That was some very slow and careful tractoring.

This morning it's off to an outfit that said they do on-vehicle spin balancing, hopefully arriving before they open. Then a haircut, and some grocery shopping. Hope to be home by early afternoon to pack for tomorrows trip down to Holister for Syncrofest, a gathering of folks with vans like mine. Misery loves company I guess. I have some parts to sell/trade, and lots of questions for those more in the know.

Happy Hump Day, folks!
