Good morning all and no April Fools. Today is who wins the tractor day, wonder when we will find out...

37 out now, going up to mid 50's, much cooler weather. I have volunteers coming in at 10am to help/learn how to pick collards, hope they dress warmer than the last batch, who I had to bring extra jackets and fleece out for, that field does get windy.

The rain we got totally fizzled out, but more rain due in tomorrow, this time at least enough to be helpful. There is so much pine tree pollen coming down now the rains are sure helpful. Yesterday I saw great clouds of grey-gold dust blowing out of one large pine tree. Not good for allergies.

Good morning, 6 above 0 and we are trying to reach 34 °F. Wind NW 13 mph. Sunny!

I scraped all the snow off the 4 driveways I do, so this morning will be a town run and get my new rims. The guy I got them from asked if it was going to be cash. I told him I could write him a check if he really wanted, but he would get lots of exercise chasing it. Ca$h is ALWAYS good.

That is all I have planned for today.

Happy April Fools Day all

Good morning. 22 now, supposed to get to 44 today. Yesterday was pretty raw after Saturday. About 25 degree difference in temperature......

Did not really do much all weekend. Though I did clean off the work bench and fixed a leak on the one BSA.

Internet is fixed. Between someone shooting a line and incompetent phone tech support having me change settings, it was out for over a week. The phone company wants you to call tech support but the tech support gives you wrong information which requires a physical visit. The tech who showed up said not to EVER make changes to settings when on the phone with their tech support. What am I missing here?

Last weeks trip went ok. Was supposed to have 8 people. Ended up with 3 who only wanted training on the mining machines, not all products. They got all. That is what happens when people who don稚 understand make arrangements for me to do training.

Off to Baltimore area for more training this week. Shorter session with low expectations of value. I know this group, can稚 make it basic enough........

I can稚 wait for better weather. Miss getting stuff done in the yard and garden.......

Everyone have a safe and good day

Poured first cup of coffee. 16ー with clear skies this morning. Heading to 44ー with lots of sun. Did not do anything yesterday. Felt good to just conserve energy. Plan for today is to stay out of duct sealer's way.

Drew, sorry for your friends condition. Like the Daffodil symbol. Prayers for her.

LS, nice truck.

Don, Good luck with winning tractor. I have my phone setup to forward any unknown callers to your number. That should double your chances of a win. :D:thumbsup:

Kyle, having your gallbladder removed while removing stone is what I had. Same for my wife. The side effects from not having a gallbladder to use has not caused any problems that we know of. Here is an article on the subject. I read a article on getting surgery done at a outpatient surgery centers. I no longer will have procedures done at one.

Rich, I am with you. Couple of warm days to do things outside. Then back to below freezing temperatures.

Riptides, tree looks like it is close to 5'. Years ago I cut a large maple down. I had a Homelite 42" chainsaw. Cut some slabs out of it. Then made wall decorations.

Roy. safe travels.

Good Morning All.

Good Morning!!!! 49F @ 4:15AM. Cloudy skies with a few showers this afternoon. High 69F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30%.

Wouldn't it be something if the tractor giveaway is an April Fool's joke?

Fired off a brush pile first thing yesterday morning. The wind was carrying the hot air right up into the branches of a good sized oak tree that had already survived one fire. Be interesting to see if there's any damage. Otherwise it was a good clean burn and there was nothing but ashes left by evening.

Managed to get the transaxle on the van refilled after the fire died down. It took a couple of hours to pump the five quarts in with the garden sprayer rig, but I only had to check on progress and pump up the air pressure a few times, otherwise it just did its own thing. While I was looking around under there, I noticed several places where the radiator hoses running to the front were rubbing on steel clamps and mouse holes in the frame. I replaced the clamps with padded ones, and used thick walled vacuum tubing to line the mouse holes. Still have a few more of those to do where the stainless steel part of those lines is rubbing. After lunch I dug out the aluminum moldings that hold down the lower end of the pop top roof tent, so that's ready to go on now. I also found all the parts for a new shift lever and got part of it assembled, then saw the new bearing for the side-by-side laying on the bench and got that installed. In the process I found that the rear u-joint spline was shot and needs replaced. If it's not one thing, it's another.:confused2:

Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start!

Mike, if you have a Dremel tool, or similar, these do great job sharpening your own chains.

https://www.amazon.com/Anytime-Tools-Diamond-Chainsaw-Sharpener/dp/B000P8VTO8

They're available in 5/32, 3/16, 7/32, etc., to match your chains.

thanks Ron and others. There were over 100 people in the parking lot with daffodils, must have been very
neat to see. I'm feeling a lot more positive today, yesterday brought back way too many memories I have tried to bury.
As we get older, so many of our friends pass, and it simply isn't easy dealing with it.

cold clear morning, blue sky, looks like a nice day. Off to foot doctor, then home to pick collards.

LS, congrat on the truck,.

Rich, where in baltimore?

Waiting by my phone for the Yanmar call, hope they aren't too late, need to get to work.

Nice sunny day, grass really getting green, will have to start mowing in a couple weeks.

Flip the calendars.

   / Good morning!!!! #91,535
This morning pre-sunrise hike sure felt cold at 29 after the past several warm days. Felt like freezing! :) Looking for 54 today.

When Yanmar called shortly after midnight, I told them, "go away and call TxDon."

Ron, that is a beautiful slice of tree. I like the idea of hanging, where it probably shows up better than as a table top.

Rip, your tree is HUGE. Hope it goes to good use.

LS, congrats on that handsome new truck.

Got some more firewood cutting/splitting/stacking planned today. Also need to pick up an oil filter and change oil on the Kubota and a few groceries. Wife should be coming home today from taking parents home. Her dad is a Dook fan, so had a bad night. :) My bracket only has UVA left in the final four...no winning a million dollars for me. Also need to think up a good April Fools joke to play on my wife.

Good morning! 42 ˚F a few high clouds that the sun can reflect on and color the sky is making a pretty morning to get "The Call". Still waiting . . . . . .

Good Morning Everyone andappy April's Fools' Day!!!!!

27ºF with sun, strato-cumulus clouds, and snow showers for today's low temperature at this time. I expect more sun and temps in the low 30ºF's later today. More evidence of Spring- yesterday, cowbirds were at the feeders, a Sharp Shinned Hawk unsuccessfully tried to pick off some "tweety birds," our resident 3 juncoes have been joined by 18 more, and today I saw some 2 Turkey Vultures were seen soaring overhead. Today the tree work begins around here, I really need to get a haircut, and PT later. Wifey is still driving me around; hopefully not much longer.

"... As we get older, so many of our friends pass, and it simply isn't easy dealing with it."- Drew. It does not get easier; makes me more appreciate my friendships and each experienced day good or bad. One nice thing here is we can all still share the pains and the joys of life.

My + thoughts, wishes, condolensces, and prayers. I hope everyone has a decent Monday; does not get overly fooled; and Don gets his new tractor.

Riptides that is one big tree are you cutting in log length to sell?
I wish. Unfortunately it has some decay in each of the five "branches" that were felled. Most of it has made its way to the firewood shed. What remains outclasses my chainsaw and back at the moment.

   / Good morning!!!! #91,539
38°F this morning with 4 mph winds out of the north. Forecast says 60°F this afternoon and sunny. Humidity is 84% so it's a damp cold. All the rain, that was forecast for yesterday, went south of us.

Need to find some tractor work today so, I can stay in warm cab.

In regards to the Tractor Giveaway, if we all follow Ron's lead and forward all "unknown" calls to Don ........ he'll surely win the tractor and we'll have no more robo-calls. Seems like a win-win?

Hope everyone has an excellent week.

Prayers to all.
