great pic Ron and thanks for info. LP quick hitch is likely strong enough, but definitely would need some fabrication work.
Here is a pic of the mower issue.

Seems like a longer version of this lower link pin from Tractor Supply would work, Drew.

Probably want to put a sleeve between the two ends of the "C" on the mower end to keep it from collapsing, and it might need extra length welded on to reach the 3PH arms, but I seem to recall them being available in several diameters and lengths. At four bux a pop, they aren't expensive and could save some time int he workshop even if they require modification to work.

Good Morning All.

Nice pic and bird.

Can you adjust your 3 point arms inwards?
Your other option may be to get new brackets welded on the mower.

Great photo, Ron. Thanks for sharing!

Checked my game camera yesterday, hoping to catch the BBQ being blown across the patio. Nope, not even a still image, and now I wonder if the motion sensor only works off a heat signature. But then it was triggered by the safety wire hanger for one of the hummingbird feeders, a much smaller object. Maybe the darn thing just isn't reliable. It sure is good showing me using the BBQ, and the main reason for having it there is to photograph people, for for that purpose at least it's OK...:confused2: Maybe I should move the camera so it looks out at the hummingbird feeder. It would see most of the patio, and I bet there would be some fun shots of the birds sparring!

Good Morning!!!! 54F @ 5:15AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 76F. Winds light and variable.

Gonna be bordering on hot outside today, unusually warm for this time of year. Where do you find your long range weather forecasts, Buppies? I'm curious if we're in for another hot, dry summer out here.

There's another big pile of sticks and brush to burn today, and switching to the smaller limbing saw had my back feeling not so sore yesterday. Kinda strange having two saws to work with, but both are starting pretty easily so it's not really a problem. Seems like the pile of odd sizes and cast off wood bits and that brush pile are growing much faster than the bucked to size firewood pile, though. At least there'll be plenty of wood to keep the campfire fed next year after it all dries out.:)

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

Good morning all. 30F and cloudy for the low this am. Headed for 45F. Yesterday was a good day pulling some red oak from the woods for firewood. Hope the start to everyone’s week is going well. Frank

It looks like 13° for the low this morning. It was sunny and the high was in the upper 30's yesterday. Today is going to be partly cloudy and back in the upper 30's.

Don't have any plans for today.

Hope everyone has a good start to the week.

WAIT! Turn around! You forgot the $2/apiece cookies....
Im going to forget where they are from now on!

Fancy antique there. Looks like it's been recovered multiple times. I wish I had a thimbleful of your upholstery knowledge.

I知 often envious of you and others here, who have abilities I can only dream of. Tell your young one happy birthday.

29 early, 49 now and probably about the high for the day, showers later. I sure miss last week’s 75.
Nice trip to Manassas yesterday, lunch with the kids and grandkids and some friends I hadn’t seen in several years.

Happy birthday to all the celebrators.

Have a good day guys.

LS hows the knee any improvement

Thanks for asking. Unfortunately it is in a state of "limbo". Still swollen, usually gets worse throughout the day. Still having pain. It also gets worse during the day, keeps me up at night. The last visit with the ortho doc resulted in ???. He doesn't know what is causing the issues. He referred me to a rheumatologist back in late January. Took until the beginning of March to get the "insurance approval". Then came the next problem.... I can't find a rheumatologist that accepts the WC insurance. A vicious circle at best....At this point, I 'm waiting for my next appt. in April to see what's next.

Good morning to all! Low went to 36, warming up already, should see a high of near 56. Sunny today and tomorrow, then a chance of showers on Wednesday when a cold front comes across. Will drop the temps 15-20 degrees.

Ron, nice shot of the sparrow!

Haven't seen any wildflower blooms yet, our honeysuckle just popped some leaves this past weekend. Lilac bushes have swollen buds and should pop this week.

Not even thinking about a garden yet. We might not attempt one this year. A lot of work and the knee isn't cooperating already. Wifey might do some 'container gardening' on the deck.

Everyone have a great day! Prayers sent for those needing.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

13ºF to start the morning; 30ºF presently; mid 30ºF anticipated on another sunny, beautiful late NE Winter. Loaded up the wood stove ~8:30AM, no more feedings today with all the anticipated sunshine. It looks like a mostly dry week ahead until Thursday’s predominantly rain event.

I start PT next week and have 2 sessions scheduled.

Eric- For some products advertised as “safe for the environment” = may not work as anticipated.

Kyle- Belated birthday wishes for your son and I am happy you made it home safely with the bad tire. It must feel great to have quality time with your kids and have helper(s) at the same time. Please take care of Mr. Back today.

"…. Part of the charm of retirement, most of the timeI can choose not to work outside if I don’t need to."- David. My problem is defining “need to.” The older I get the more wussy I have become preferring to watch bad weather through the window or monitor rather than experience it directly. The only gardening that I can do this time of year is indoors.

Buppies- I am glad that you had a safe trip and great time with the family.

"…. Starting to feel a bit like Sisyphus, or maybe Bill Murray in Groundhog Day"- RNG. It’s probably easier for me to see all your project achievements than you. You are certainly no couch slug.

Drew- Good luck with the 3PH conversions and with the ENT appointment.

Buppies- Thanks. Mr. Knee is functional enough to get myself in trouble. I really do not have the pain and swelling challenges like Ted. My biggest challenge is bending the knee. My knee’s ROM is very limited at this point. I agree about the 3 H’s this summer.

Billy- Thanks. Living in the moment can get frustrating, but if I take a longer view of where I was and where I am now physically I can see major improvements like the ability to now touch my toes again. A skill I thought I lost a long time ago. For all the “quality” coffee that I drink I should seriously consider roasting my own beans.

RonJH- Thanks for sharing your English Sparrow/House finch picture. We do not see them here probably due to habitat, nor starlings due to food resources. Actually this year we have seen no finches during our bird counts. Some thing upset the turkeys here this AM. I could see them flying/gliding overhead. They looked almost like the flying ape creatures in the “Wizard of Oz.”

Ted- I get very frustrated/angry when I read about your ongoing pain and swelling and the WC craziness makes it worse. Hang in there.

I hope everyone is having a decent start to th week.

M + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Coyotes = chicken control and rabies

Wildlife that is not susceptible to rabies and wildlife that does not harm chickens. There goes half the country wildlife, might as well move to the city and get KFC.:D

Goooood morning! Starting off in the 40s now 50s soon 60s trail blazing this afternoon. Hauled two pickup beds of mulch and rocks and gravel on the mule on the trail yesterday to define a questionable area on which way the trail went. There is no question now.

Rain is expected for our no rain date plant sale this weekend, I might need to go looking for a rain coat.

Lots of birthday celebrations, Happy Birthday to the March Birthdays.

great pic Ron and thanks for info. LP quick hitch is likely strong enough, but definitely would need some fabrication work.

Drew, does your MF have telescoping stabilizers with multiple holes for width adjustment of your lower arms? Similar to below? (Yes, I know that's a European configuration).

IMG_4021.jpg

If you adjust them for minimum width, of your lower arms, what is limiting you. Length of stabilizers?

IMG_4022.jpg

My small tractor, LS XR4155HC has CAT 2 hitch and I still easily hookup to both CAT 1 and CAT 2 implements. Tractor Supply sell CAT 1 to CAT 2 bushing for both upper and lower pins.

My telescoping lower stabilizers offer plenty of width adjustment to accommodate both CAT 1 and CAT 2.

It sounds like you need additional length for your stabilizer bars?

Can you take a picture of your 3 point stabilizers?

It was 43°F this morning and expected to get to 71°F this afternoon. We're having a string of rainless days so, I've been taking advantage of pastures firming up.

I spent most of yesterday on the Kubota ZT, cleaning under big trees, in the horse pasture. There's a few old dead trees out there that have dropped a few dead limbs so, working on cleaning that up today. Whenever it's gets a bit drier, I'll push dead trees over with the big tractor.

Hope everyone has an excellent week.

Prayers to all.

Be safe
Have a great day

Afternoon;
I can see two fairly easy ways to take care of that problem.
Any halfway decent welder/fabricator shouldn't need two hours to do either one;
1) modify your existing mower hitch arms,
cut the ears off, weld on a sideways extension and two new mounting ears, with cat 2 holes (1 1/8")
hitch nod.jpg

2) buy a cat 1 quick hitch and 2 6" pieces of 1/2" thick 4" x 4" angle iron with an appropriate hole bored in it and weld it to the quick hitch
quick hitch mod.jpg
I would bore out the quick hitch to 1 1/8" holes and use a long cat 2 pin, but a cat 1 pin and a bushing in your lift arm would work also.

I am surprised that your lift arms don't have bit of a bend to be more square with your implements.

Just have a better job done then my photo editing is.

You may need to remove that top strap off your drawbar it may get too close to your pto shaft,
If it was me I would make new arms for the mower, but a modified quick hitch would work on other cat 1 implements.
I don't like the quick hitches as they get in my way reaching in to connect the pto's.

Good luck
