Good Morning!!!! 45F @ 7:15AM. Overcast. High 51F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.
Today and tomorrow will be cloudy but dry, a pleasant change. But then the rain comes back for another week.
It's always a delight to see an owl around here as well, so thanks for sharing, Jay. I've only seen them at night, usually while laying on my back trying to count meteors. The last one flew over me quite low, and gave me something of a start!
Hope they get to the bottom of that bum ear with the CT scan, Drew. And that it's nothing serious...
Good trip to town, and was even able to get an 18" bar and chain for the little saw at the Stihl dealer. Had to go up one width on the chain size, though, so it'll be interesting if the engine can keep up on larger diameter cuts. It would be OK if it can't, as it's supposed to be a limbing saw, but it's one that I'm used to seeing fight well above its weight class.
Before I left, I went out to the garage to see if I could figure which part of the winch control was bad, and in flipping the manual switch back and forth a couple of times, got it to work again. I kept at it, and got it working normally. I'd shot the switch full of DeOxIt a few weeks ago, so maybe that helped, or maybe it was a fluke and today it'll be back to being broken?:confused2: Regardless, I better get the big touring bike off the lift and turned round before that winch decides to go back into hibernation.
I also found more water in the van yesterday, so I'm going to have to fiddle with the skylight some more today. My guess is that the hinges are not allowing the plastic lid to seat fully on the gasket, and hope that either slotting the mounting holes and/or bending them will set things right.
I should also be able to get the shift linkage put back together, hopefully without breaking off the new plastic tabs...
