-9 here this morning. Just finished snow blowing the drifts out of the driveway. We have more snow in drifts then we did in yesterday’s storm. Time for another coffee then heading out to work. Love my cab more and more. Tractor started and ran fine. Hope everyone is warm and safe today.

Good morning all. The crystal clear skies last night worked a bit of wonderful magic, making most of the ice disappear from around the house, despite the temperature going down to -6C/21F. A literally sublime morning, although there is a slight hint of menace on the horizon. Looking to the south it is hard to say if the far off haze is orangy-yellow, or more of a yellowy-orange, either way the forecast of snow for some is looking more likely.

Decided to keep that color theme going for breakfast with 2 soft boiled eggs on a pair of toasted crumpets. :licking:



Don, thought RNG would win the horticulture competition, now the prize surely has to go to your wife.

-7F now wind chill -17F mid single numbers for high.

Shower showers left 1"+ last night and notice some drifting,while pickup warming up quick steps path feeding area clean up.
E muffin double helping feed for the little critters and slow roll to work.

5 outside this AM. Just came in from the morning checkup. Checked on all the animals around the barn. Watched a few planes come into their final landing pattern up on the horizon. Bet those coming into DC will be surprised by the warmer weather if they are from up north.

Not much planned today. Heard it is supposed to by 67 on Wednesday of next week. Time to break the sun tan lotions out.

Went to the gym yesterday for the first time since cutting my head (wore a cap so I wouldn't gross out anyone. Finally washed my hair last night, carefully, and so may go outside and get dirty today cutting wood since I know I can clean up afterwards.

Looking out the window at the moon directly between two planets as I type. Jay, what planets did you say they are?

-6 right now, no wind. The warm up is to start later today, supposed to be 41 by Saturday. Crazy swing in temperature. But hey, it is weather....

I have been outside a fair amount the last couple of days. Gotta say, it really has not felt that cold to me. Yea, it is cold, but for some reason, has not affected me that much.

Another day ahead, time for more coffee and get my head into the day.

Drinking first cup of hot coffee. -18° with 5 mph winds and clear skies. Heading to 4° with partly cloudy skies and SW winds. Stayed in house all day except PT and bring in garbage container. All the critters spent a lot of time at feeders. I bet the Cranes wish they had flown south. They have figured out how to eat out of deer feeder. Going to have to make a trip to Menards to restock feed for critters. Total for this winter so far is 250 lbs of bird seed and 250 lbs mix of split and whole corn. At the rate I am feeding this year may hit 1/2 ton by the time summer arrives. No plans for outside today except critter feed. Duct sealer guy is coming this morning for inspection and quote.

Don, your wife has a good sense of humor. I will add TX Bedwetter.

David, nice cement project. I would be on the cleanup crew. But no sandals or glare spots. I have a pair of Crocs that I put on one time. My feet did not like the open feeling. Back to deck shoes and work boots.

Amazing what happen when it gets cold in Michigan. No mail delivery, schools are closed, all state and local offices are closed, many business are closed and the governor wants us to turn our heat down to 65°. :shocked:

9 now headed to 25. Cold enough to keep me inside, and that is unusual.

I renamed my personal bathroom from John to Jim, and after I finish this I am gonna hit the ‘Jim’ for my morning workout.
