Great pics LS!

Kubota will average 40-60 % of retail at 2000 hours, depending on model and options.

37 and blustery with a high of 45 and strong NW wind. Pseudo Winter came early this year, which often is followed by a mild real winter. Like 2011/12.

Gotta put up more decorations today now that the downpour is over. Have a good day all and God bless.

Toppop hope you are doing well in this busy season

Question your statement above concerning weather do you think that’s what our winter will be like?

Having spent 71 winters (spent 1 in Florida) in this neck of the woods, I can tell you right now that there will be NO bugs and lots of NO bug days. Oh, there WILL be plenty of snow, but there will be NO bugs.
Snow I can deal with, cold I can deal with, but the dam bugs I can't deal with. The DIL belly aches all day every day about the bugs in summer. She knew before she came to this country from Sheffield, UK that we had lots of bugs, but she came anyway.
She did not know that we had as much snow as we do, though.

We have some bugs here in SE Michigan. But not big nasty ones that take big bites like are bred in northern Michigan & Ontario.

Thanks Randy, I hope you are feeling better as well.
Strictly based on past years that I remember, several times we had cold weather and snow before Christmas, often turned mild in January and February, but also cool March and April weather. No idea if there is any connection, just some personal experience.

Question for you guys. At how many hours would you stop looking at a used tractor?
Kubota is coming up on 3 years old and 1,100 hours. 3,000 hour dpf. I really don稚 want to go past that filter life. Do I look at trading in next year before 1,500 hours or keep it to 2,000-2,500 or see how many hours a kubota will run?

Farmer, someone will always buy your used tractor, whatever the hours or age, it's only a question of how many chickens you need to raise to pay for the replacement. How are your tires doing, they are often the big expense item ? Some would say sell while there is still enough tread left for a light user not to worry about, or change tires and keep the tractor for a few more years - your engine should be nowhere near the end of life.

I've recently sold my Iseki (I've been waiting for Drew's new tractor to arrive before announcing this, but he keeps coming up with excuses to delay delivery until his comes gift wrapped for Christmas :D).

Business wise, it was a stupid thing to do, if profit was the only consideration I should have kept it for several more years. It was built in 2012 and when I bought it 2 years later it was immaculate, having done only a few demonstrations. Another 4 years on and by some amazing strokes of luck, there was still not a scratch on it and the tires looked good (at least, they did when not covered in sheep poop:)). I had intended to retro fit an air suspension seat, then realised they were less than half the price if bought at the same time as a new tractor and that's when I thought if I was ever going to sell my much loved Iseki, this would be the ideal time. Still couldn't justify it on cost, then reasoned to myself, I have been very fortunate in life - why spoil it and risk having death bed regrets about not buying a new tractor ?

Good afternoon. Nothing quite like a forecast of a belt of rain coming over fast, confirmed by a blue, yellow and red radar map, to give encouragement to get out while it's still dry and have a late breakfast. 3 hours later and a simple bowl of cereals has never tasted better - and lunch is only 5 minutes away too.

Don, I have the 14" Ego chainsaw, my reasoning being shorter bars are slightly easier to handle. If I want to cut anything larger in diameter, I use a 2 stroke Husky. The 16" EGO datasheet says the chain runs at 13.5 m/s compared to 12 m/s on the 14", but I have no complaints at all with the way the 14" cuts softwood, elm, ash, or oak.

Both have the same capacity oil tank. I reckon the optimum battery size would be 2.5 Ah. With a bigger battery you will just need to remember to stop before the battery is flat to refill the oil tank.

Here's the inside pics....again you guys have to decide the results of the competition....

Competition with the Wife, OH NO. You will always loose. It is the gentleman thing to do.

If kept inside - A 3 year old tractor with 1100 hours is practically new. A 6-10 year old tractor with 2500 hours is an average used tractor, in my opinion. A tractor with over 5,000 hours and over 10 years old I would tend to compare with new for the real value.

Good morning! Colder than most this morning at 30˚ heavy frost light cloud cover.
bah humbug broke a tooth last night so today need to find a dentist locally or a 2 1/2 hour drive to my old dentist.
