A cool thing is that studies have found that gout suffers are a good bit smarter than average, at least there is a bright side but I doubt that will make you feel better. Ed

That's a good looking car, Randy. But the only Thunderbird I'd want would be the 1957 model. I've always thought that was the best looking thunderbird ever made. And the last Thunderbirds made (2002-2005) were the ugliest ever made.

I agree with you Bird, I owned a 58 and a 64 convertible, both were cool cars, but not my favorites by any means.

My younger brother has had gout for many years. But his diet is terrible. When he remodeled his kitchen, I asked him why bother? You can put pizza boxes on anything....

Good evening all. 54F for the start, overcast, windy. Cold front had already passed, temps dropped all day, overcast most of the day, windy all day, and low temp of 36F at midnight. Chapel this morning, made wife breakfast, and worked on conserving energy the rest of the day, mixed in with some football.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MR AND MRS WNGSPRD!

The weather guessers were right. This morning the temps were in the mid teens, barely got up to 40. I was outside putting up Christmas lights and got deeply chilled. Took a break and did a dump run. That got me warmed up briefly. Came home and did some more decorations and some more chilling. Called it quits around 4 pm. I'll finish up tomorrow.

I got the call confirming the time for the knee surgery on Tuesday. At least I'll have all the decorations up by then... I'm still hopeful that it will be an easy surgery and the problem will be fixed this time.

Everyone have a great start to the week. Prayers sent out for all.

Good morning. A couple of early showers have given me sufficient excuse to not go firewood collecting today, my back has had more than enough fun picking up and stacking logs these last few days (Ed, I've now got about 3 years supply in, which ought to comforting - except now I'm reluctant to light the fire as that will take me back down to only 2 years and 364 days )

Wng, congrats on your 40th anniversary. You must be another who wakes up each day, never quite believing their luck.

Randy, your old Thunderbird is going to be a pretty rare sight in this country. Not quite as rare as I expected though, 20 to 30 have been registered for road use each year since 2014, no doubt helped by a thriving owners club.

30 and going to a high of 3F. Wind SSW 5 mph. The weather guy says 5-10 cm, but I think he gets his metric and imperial measurement all mixed up. He forecasts 10 cm, I plow 10 inches. Whats the diff you ask? Centimeters are smaller than inches. 2.54cm=1inch
I have been following this storm on NEXRAD, and we are going to get it. How much is anybodies guess.

Don yes the plant based diet worked well on getting rid of gout, however you said one time about it being very hard if your wife does not support you in your diet. Mine does not, and hates the diet. She does not feel well eating starch, and we are already making a special diet for the boy so my diet was a constant source of little stresses between us. Because of this I was never able to do the diet as well as I should and am now off of the diet for some time.
The study was done by a major medical school and said that gout was more likely in people of higher IQ. Don't remember much more as it has been over 20 years. My Dr told me about it an I think looked it up. O and fasting is not a good thing for people with gout, it often brings on an attack. Ed

Snow storm arriving later today 4-6 inches...heavy wet snow.
After work mad dash to mower shop for fuel shut off valve than put plow on pickup before darkness arrives.
E muffin feed little critters slow roll to work.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 33° with snow and NE wind. Heading to 35° with more snow and wind. Will not be enough snow to plow. Visited Son and his family yesterday. Did not do Thanksgiving with them this year. Son had surgery last Tuesday and spent the holiday recovering. Dentist appointment this morning. Then back home to recover. No other plans.

Ed, That gout study sounds interesting, if you ever remember any key information and can locate it send it my way. Sometime you wonder why they do a particular study????

Ed, your wife does not know to how lucky she is to be married to a heart patient that agrees to be on a plant based diet. There are so many wives and kids that wish their loved one would recognize the cure to heart disease. I know my sister-in-law and nephew and I think of it every day when it comes to my deceased younger brother. There are improvements every day and I see now that California hospitals have to offer a plant based option on their menu. Also, in the works, is that medical schools will have to teach their doctors about nutrition and the role food plays in diseases. Many doctors are clueless and it's because they have never been taught and have not seen the research and it is not finically beneficial for the pharmaceutical companies. Another thing is their patients would probably change doctors before changing their diet at this point in history. You have to remember the research on cigarettes was out 50 years before the surgeon general and general public accepted that cigarettes were harmful. Just in our lifetime it has gone from ash trays in every house to only smoking outside.
