Record colds temperatures here in Vermont...for this early in the Winter season...it's 4 degrees right now...high today in the low teens.
The plan was to light up the grill and do the steak tips and veggies outside...too cold for that!
Nobody here is a big fan of turkey (although I'd like to try deep fried turkey sometime), so it's steak tips and veggies...beer, wine and an occasional shot of whiskey!

The coldest overnight temp so far this season, -10 and going to a high of 12F. Sunny. Wind NW 14 mph.

I just stuffed another stick in the stove.

I am wondering how the stray cat made out overnight. It looks to be about a year old and it is in good condition. I think it was somebodies pet and it either was abused or got fed up with existing where it was and looked for greener pastures. I fed it some warmed milk yesterday along with wet food, slurped it right up. There is a trail going into my lean to and I think it is sleeping in the bales of straw in there.

I got a town run today, right after I post this I will turn on the block heater and check the fire. There is a parcel at the Post Office for us.

Happy Thanksgiving. Next year will be the 400th anniversary of the first US Thanksgiving to the Almighty, at Berkeley Hundred on the James River, Virginia.

27 going to 34. Not the best day to sit outside with the turkey fryer. I tried it for the first time last year and everyone said it was the best turkey they've ever had...so they want an encore...hope I'm just as lucky keeping the peanut oil at the right temp. Just glad we don't have Looking4 temps or Roy temps here.

Buppies have a safe trip and light traffic.

Son and GF and dogs arrived last night after I went to bed. But I got up to say happy birthday, and to play with his Brittany puppy...sure grew since I dogsat her several weeks ago. Son doesn't like cake, so my wife had a chocolate chip cookie pie for him and one token candle.

We have so much Christmas music available, but I can't think of any Thanksgiving songs...but probably are. PJ...know any?

We're only going to have one daughter and her husband here for Thanksgiving today, so it'll be the fewest we've had in many years.

Good morning all, 32 going to 37 and mostly sunny. The boy is super excited, his diet is super restricted because of health reasons, but today he will get the works. Turkey, gravy, dressing, 3 kinds of pie........... Here it will be the three of us as always.

Poured first cup of coffee. 19° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 28° with mostly cloudy skies. Trip to Sams Club took a lot longer than I planned. Shelves were empty. Display on rotisserie oven said 45 minutes until they were done. So I toured whole store 3 times. Did meet one of my neighbors. That used up a few minutes. I thought Black Friday was tomorrow. Place was crowded. Gas was $2.18. Cars were lined up out onto main street. I am going to stay home today and tomorrow.

Got that beat. It is -20 right now up at the cottage (2.5 hrs. North of Toronto near Algonquin Park), with the windchill. But going up to about 38 by Saturday!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

We had Thanksgiving at Mom's last week when my brother came down. Mom was still able to cook a 12lb turkey for 3 even though we wanted to bring all the food. Our turkey was a new recipe slow cooked jackfruit with onions, celery and poultry seasoning. Today we have plans to find the Dam Trail for a scenic look at the lake. On the menu is lentil meatloaf, mash potatoes gravy and assorted veggies.

I wonder if people would feel mad if they were offered plant based food for Thanksgiving. Probably would be like the 1984 Wendy's commercial:

30 degrees in Markham VA, about to go for a walk and get some fresh air. Should be a nice day, very dry cold air has set in, and very cold tonight.
My job is peeling potatoes. I can do this.

Mrs. got phone call last evening asking her start work 4am min. 4 hours because 2 co workers decided not to work today and there work wasn't completed...she not a happy camper, so its the kittens and I ruling the house.

It can sure be frustrating when you know what you want, and find it's sold out before you got there. We had that happen with the pecan pies last year, so I bought a day earlier this year. And I went to Sam's Club early yesterday morning to pick up the new Turbo Tax 2018 that I had ordered online.

And I guess we've been doing our Christmas shopping earlier this year than we've ever done. With what txdon, and some others, have posted about the Instant Pots, we've bought them for both our daughters.

Spectrum sent me a letter that I should now have 200 Mbps Internet speed, but needed to change my modem (at no cost) for the faster speed. So I stopped by their office and got the new modem, finally got it installed and working yesterday. I know there are several places on the Internet that claim to tell you what your speed is. The first one I tried showed my speed had increased from 39.94 to 75.61. But this morning, Spectrum's own site showed my speed this morning to be 45.3. That's a bit short of that 200 they claimed.

It was 33° this morning, yesterday was nice no wind and in the high 50's and sunny. They are saying to today will be in the low 40's overcast and windy with a 20% chance of snow showers.They also show a winter storm warning for most of tomorrow into Saturday morning. With 5 to 7 inches of snow and wind gusting as high as 60 mph.

Going to work on the project I have going on and go up and feed the horses. I'm not that fond of turkey so we are having Cornish Hens for dinner today.

Bird, don’t forget about giving a good Instant pot recipe cook book along with the pressure cooker. This is a different way of cooking and some of our older friends couldn’t figure it out and did not know that there are recipe books just for the Instantpot.
