Good morning!!!!

43° here this morning with high of 60° forecast. Should be lots of sunshine today too. It never got out of the 40's yesterday and was cloudy, overcast, and damp all day. Overall we got a bit over 1" of rain Sunday and Monday, from this front. Another front is arriving tomorrow.

Will have to head into town for feed this morning then some pressure washing of patios and side walks, around the house, after it warms up a bit.

RNG ... I bought an 1880's house to restore, back in the early 1970's, after I got out of the USAF. It had been a "rent house" for 40+ years and seemed most of the tenants smoked inside. I got a great deal on it because it reeked of smoke. The first thing I did was rip out the very old, poorly installed carpeting. About 10 days after I got carpet out and thoroughly aired the house out, there was virtually no remaining smoke smell. Oh, the crappy carpeting perfectly protected the original oak floors. Bonus! The only flooring I had to refinish was in the kitchen area, where linoleum flooring had been installed decades before, probably in the 1950's.

The lesson is the soft surfaces will absorb the smoke smell, if it got into your home. If your home was well sealed up, you may be ok. Best of luck and hope you're home soon!

Hoping for a great day for everybody.

Prayers to all.

P.S. nope .... never got cap, cup, T-shirt, etc.

It was 17° for the low this morning. Today is going to be back in the mid 40's and sunny. It looks like a chance of snow for thanksgiving.

One of the neighbors asked me to feed her horses for the rest of the week. I'll get that done and make trip into town this morning. And see how the rest of the day goes.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

33°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 39° today. Looking like sunny and 50s for tomorrow and Thursday, then rain the rest of the weekend.

Fell down the YouTube rabbit hole yesterday evening and got a whole lot of nothing done.

For a right-handed guy, I can swing a hatchet kind of OK left-handed. I wouldn't trust my accuracy near any fingers, though. I suppose being a musician may help a bit with ambidexterity. Maybe.

TBN definitely needs a swag outlet. I suspect Muhammad could sell quite a few shirts, hats, and mugs.

64°F and .38 inches rain
Not awake enough to plan the day.
Haircut later this morning.
Need to get moving on my project that started as a few bags of Quikcrete for my diesel tanks. By yesterday morning it had grown to a bit over 8 cuyds. By the time I’d finished walking it off with wife it was 15.4 cuyds.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

I have done some pretty delicate work, but I am far from ambidextrous, I wouldn’t try to use a axe left handed. Kinda like my right hand as it is.

   / Good morning!!!! #84,646
Somewhat ambidextrous. Mostly lefthanded, write, throw a ball, most hand tools but some things I do righthanded, like swing a bat, eat, swing a sledge hammer, even an axe. But I would tend to favor my left for a hatchet.

Got my goodies at post office, wife decided to accompany me to haircut and got hers cut as well. Impromptu trip from there to Waimea for lunch. Purely by chance run into my concrete guy who happened to be in town to visit his niece scheduled for surgery. Gave us a chance to discuss project a bit. Made for a good day.

How many of the old gang still has their TBN t-shirts and hats?

I forgot about the t-shirts but while going through the container looking for a welding jacket we found them. That takes us back a day or three.......

No hat, no t shirt, no coat....But I did have a bumper sticker. It left the property when I sold my old suburban. I believe I got it at Bird's birthday party years back.

Only had to put in 20 hours this week. So I worked 10 yesterday and today. Off until Monday.

Work was good today. I had a carbide endmill break while cutting an o-ring groove, but it was during the roughing operation and the finish operation cleaned it up. Whew. Started up a 3D print for an motor mount.

Not so ambidextrous myself. write right, shoot right, lean right. :)

Kids are out of school all week. The weather has been crappy, they are stir crazy.

We believe another chicken/hen got taken out. My daughter believes she saw a large owl flying away in the dark field behind the house. This will leave us down to just 2. Need to get a few more maybe.

Good evening all. 35F for the start, clear sky, calm wind. Just enough wind to start dropping more leaves, clear sky all day, and high temp of 55F. Worked on removing the rebar that was not easy to remove yesterday, had a jack and chain, still had to remove two of the railroad tie base to remove rebar rods. Let plumber in to work on leaking kitchen faucet, the napped. got up too late for ride.
RNG nice tandem, hope you get back to your house soon!
No TBN gear here.
Right handed, not ambidextrous.
prayers for all.

Be careful. I did know there was a piece of property in Toronto large enough to have a ATV and a tractor. :D

Sure there is!

I was 8 hrs over last week, so I'm done with work for this week.

Got my new synology NAS working tonight. Disappointed in the security cam app. Only allows 2 without further license. Maybe there is another app, got a lot to learn.

Will get cold for a couple days.

Got my TBN hat and mug that i won last yr.

11 now and going down to 7F. Wind NNW 10 mph. 40% chance of snow. It is snowing now, has accumulated 3" so far.

The furniture van got in and out, no problem. The new couch is real comfortable. I should get many naps on it, IF I can find space with the cats.

The DIL bought new Laz-y-boy chairs for the front room and she didn't like them, so that is when I proposed a new couch. I got one of the chairs and the other one is going into storage for right now. My glider/rocker is going to charity.

As of yesterday the price of regular gas was $1.159/L or $4.38/US gallon in CDN money. It is coming down slowly. A lot slower than it goes up.

I ditched my Suncor stock last month. It didn't make me the profit it had the potential to, but I did not lose on it either.

Other than plowing snow, I have nothing to do today, so I will conserve energy.

Have a good day all

Good morning all, 32 going to 49 and sunny. Was a busy day yesterday, after breakfast we cut the boy's toenails, and that was a huge stress for him. Then after lunch we cut the boys hair and gave him a shower, another huge stress. For both I fed him Fritos and watched for the times we needed to stop and give him a break. For the bath my job is to sing and dance so well that he forgets he is getting a bath. PJ should have been here. :) Then after our lunch I got a hair cut and bath. Later the guy came to inspect the heat systems, needed once a year for our agency. Hope to get to the grocery today.

No TBN stuff here, just a to new.

I often use a hatchet with both hands and have no problem. In shaping handles and the like a hatchet will take off a lot of wood fast and to get a good job I often swap hands.

RNG, go home and find your house not smelling of smoke and that is an order. Hope they lift the ban soon.

Prayers for shoulders and all else that is needed, have a great day. Ed

I thought yesterday was a dull day, but this has it beaten. We are enclosed in mist, which is acting as a barrier to everything except the sound of a crusher munching it's way through a mountain of broken concrete.

Talking of concrete ...

15.4 cuyds ! Can't imagine what sort of tank base are you making - unless it's ...

good morning all. Very quiet on this property in VA countryside. Got a ride yesterday in a 1931 Model A rumbleseat, that was a first. Took pics of barn finds, two Jag 140s in awful shape, one Vega Cosworth twin cam with Summit Racing stickers all over it. Funny thing is I might have seen this old Chevy race, used to go to Summit Raceway and watch showroom stock cars squeal around the track, way more fun that real sports car.

I was worried about my friend not keeping his house warm enough but zero problems with that, giant old water radiators throughout the house have kept it warm. Best part is he doesn't pay for heat/LNG; Texas Eastern has a big pipeline nearby and the deal for running across part of this property was free LNG for life.
Of course the owner of this place is so rich, six or seven houses all over the world, that free gas is almost humorous. Apparently this property is the last remaining estate still owned by the family of one of our first five Presidents, still at original 2000 acres. I was told that once Monroe was elected President, Jefferson came out here, looked at the place, said you need a new home, and designed this place. The gardens went on and on and on. Five full time people working the place.
Don't have the patch cord to load pics from Apple phone, will wait until I get home.

Headed downtown to little Aldie this morning to check out the car garages of my step brother, he has an Amilcar (French)stored there, among other things. Won't sit in that, I could barely fit into the Model A, not much room inside. Old cars are neat but not all that comfortable.

Then off to my brother's later this morning. They say this Thanksgiving will be the coldest on record for many.
