How many of the old gang still has their TBN t-shirts and hats?

I forgot about the t-shirts but while going through the container looking for a welding jacket we found them. That takes us back a day or three.......

Good evening all. 32F for the start, mostly clear sky, calm wind. Wind stayed very light, sky stayed clear, and high temp was 54F. Choir practice to start the day, leaf pick up next on the agenda, followed by nap time. Too late after nap to start anything.
Rick, nice truck, hope it works well for you.
Don sounds like you are finding your way around the community, I did not see your old driveway in the video! :ashamed: ;)
Prayers for all.

29 right now...high in the mid-30's and a few inches of snow in the forecast. Looking at the 10 day forecast, we have a lot of nuisance snows (1-2 inches) over the next week or so...

Just finished figuring out where I was going, my step brother has a rental cottage on a farm estate in Aldie,VA and I finally tracked it
down on Google Maps. wow...nice gardens, hope to walk through those tomorrow.
former President Monroe's home, 1200 acres total.

The place with the pool in the clearing ? Looks a great spot to go swimming, guess it could be a little cool though this time of the year.

Good morning. It's dark inside this morning and in an hours time it will be even darker as we have been told that power is being turned off at 10 for some work to be done further up the line. Should hopefully be back on tonight. I best get my chainsaw battery on charge now, that little EGO is proving itself to be almost perfect for lots of stop start cutting like I was doing yesterday.

Only difficulty was my arm found it hard going when it came to cleaning off the soil where some of the timber had been in contact with the ground. It's usually simple to keep the saw blade sharp by first skimming off a strip of bark with an axe. Not yesterday though, my right arm just didn't want to swing. I am ambidextrous with some tools (as bad with either hand :)), but not with an axe in my left hand. That is going to take some practise, it just didn't feel "right". Can anyone here use a hatchet with either hand ?

I can!
Mr Three Fingers

having my coffee, showered and packed, turning down all the thermostats, wow is Thanksgiving going to be cold up North.
I rarely wear a tshirt under my shirt, which this trip will be my faithful LL Bean chamois shirts, but this time, you bet.
Little jars of Bertie Peanuts all packed for house presents. Bertie County is not too far from me, though I've never seen a peanut plant in my life.

Working back local today but did see fully automated motor grader yesterday

51 now and that’s about it

Prayers for those in need

RNG hope you get to go home very soon

Good morning all, 49 going to a high of 48 and partly sunny. Neighbor borrowed a tool that is used to seat the anchors for the pool cover in the concrete. Just a piece of alum. with a step in size so I turned one for me so he can keep it and use it later. Need to go to the grocery today, will see what else.

Drew, You should plant a few peanuts this spring. I did one year and it turned off dry, very dry and we never got the first one.

Don, you were in the booth next to the wooden indian head. At least that is what you said earlier. :)

Have a great day, prayers sent. Ed

RNG hope you get to go home very soon

how about a thousand thumbs up for RNG to get back into his own home.

Hope smell isn't an issue; bet Servicemaster is awfully busy. Saw a lot of house fires in my time in insurance
and the cleanup can be complicated. yes to being extra careful to check for hidden damage from radiant heat.
For example, plastic siding, which no one would have there, could be cooked but not fully baked. All the life baked out of it.
Window mouldings, basically anything not wood, brick or stone. And if it's bad, even the mortar in the stone. Had a lot of that
in stone houses in PA. In RNG's case, it's all exterior heat which is very different.

RNG was prepared, had landscaped his land and his home was saved. Nice work friend.

6 and searching for a high of 14F. Wind NNE 11 gusting to 23 mph. 40% chance of flurries.

I gotta plow the driveway again. I have a furniture truck coming with the new couch today.

There is a stray silver and black tabby cat hanging around, it is very wary of people. It sure doesn't mind eating the cat food we put out for it. My cats, sitting in a nice warm house with endless food are not very inviting though.
I also saw the tracks from the resident fox in the new fallen snow and now I wonder if the stray is still around, or did it become lunch. Time will tell. It is usually here by about 2 in the afternoon.

The local grocery store has 1 lb Christmas cakes on sale, buy two and get one free. I got 3 not iced and three with marzipan icing on them Friday. They were fresh so I went in yesterday and got 3 more iced and 6 not. Stepson and DIL like the non iced where I prefer iced. I think I have enough Christmas cake to do me until New Years. Those cakes are the end of my Christmas shopping. All done, YES! A month early, perfect.

After I plow today I think I will be in the conserve energy mode.

Have a good day all

45 going to 58.

I climbed up and down ladders doing caulk removal and replacement yesterday for 6.5 hours until after dark...I'm a little stiff this morning. I think I got 95% done, but still have some trim wood replacement to do. I used a Dremel oscillating tool with a flexible blade for some removal, but most was by hand with a cheap caulking tool. I need to do some touch up painting.

But today, I'm going to pick up my wife's parents to bring to our house for Thanksgiving...7 hours driving time. Heading out soon.

Drinking second cup of coffee. 27° with light snow this morning. Heading to 31° with cloudy skies. Dentist visit was for cleaning. Get to go back next Monday for a filling and crown. Need to clean walkways today without falling. Sure wish I had got snowblower on front mower. Maybe next month. My get Christmas tree out of storage in barn.

RNG, hope you are headed home soon.

Drew, safe travels. I wear t-shirts most of the time. But I cannot get one on or off until my arm heals more. I am wearing old button flannel shirts until then.

Eric, right handed. Learning how to use left hand/arm. But not making much progress. :confused3:

Buppies, how is your arm doing? Hope it is getting better.

Thomas, I no the feeling not having E-muffins. My morning treat is mini cinnamon rolls without icing. When we runout. I get sent to grocery store to restock.

Prayers for all.

Good Morning All.

It is 50 now and that is about the high today. Thanksgiving is going to be around 30 with 15-25 mph NW winds. Low of 18 that night. Winter is a bit early.

Going to breakfast with the guys today, then taking daughter and grandson to visit mom.

Got my dressing made yesterday just needs an hour in the oven, sliced the ham and did a few other things.

Good day all and God bless us all.

How many of the old gang still has their TBN t-shirts and hats?

I have the t-shirt, still like new since I don't wear it. I don't often wear a cap or hat of any kind unless it's cold outside and then I wear the TBN cap. The TBN coat was a fine coat, but it was just so seldom that we have cold enough weather to wear it, that I finally gave it to my grandson because he was working out in the cold. And I still use my TBN coffee mug every morning, as I'm doing right now.

34 degrees this morning, going for a high of 57, clear and sunny.

Good Morning!!!! 39F @ 4:15AM here in Chico, CA. A good deal of sunshine. Expect widespread areas of smoke and haze, reducing visibility at times. High 63F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.

Guess I'm still a TBN newby; no shirts, hats, or coffee cup, yet...

More evacuation orders were lifted yesterday, but not the ones covering Yankee Hill. Lots of homes were lost in the area, and I suspect the evacuations won't lift until search and rescue teams have cleared the human remains. There are still almost 700 people unaccounted for. This is the map that matters most now:

My hosts got a wild hair for a tandem bicycle, so yesterday we rode down to Davis in my truck to pick up a new-to-them Schwinn Twin in bright yellow. The thing was made in 1971 and looks brand new. Lots of smoke in the air all the way down there, but it was definitely thicker the closer we got back to home. Hopefully the coming rains will clear the air considerably, as well as helping to dampen down the fires. Fingers crossed...

Finally got through to an electrical contractor about installing a transfer switch for my generator. He sez that Butte County is taking six to eight weeks to approve permits, but he's working with them on an expedited process. So it looks like I'll end up pulling the meter out of the service panel and wiring in the generator myself when I get home. Probably be a good idea to change the oil in it, too, so I've got some shopping to do today. Also need to pick up the ham for our Thanksgiving dinner.

Don, you were in the booth next to the wooden indian head. At least that is what you said earlier. :)

Ed, Yep, thats where we were.

Harvey still have the t-shirt.

Eric I type with both hands.

RNG - good tandem find as long as the person up front doesn't eat broccoli the day before riding.

Good morning 36˚ light frost clear skies heading to the 60s.

Haven't started my Christmas shopping.

Drew, leave a row for peanuts, they love sand and deer love them so they will have to be in your fenced area.
