72°F and no rain last 24 hours. Much of the state slammed but avoided us.

Windy and sunny enough yesterday that I was able to get another couple hours knocking down the guinea grass. More of the same today hopefully. More stressful than normal mowing.

Thanks Buckeyefarmer, they celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary recently and their kids and grandkids are all local and spend time with them. They have 10s of thousands of photos, over a 100 large albums, with dates/people/places written on the back of each photo along with index summary. Wife's aunt has been taking pictures that everyone expects to have their photo taken when gathering with them.. I sat for quite awhile going through an album from 1992, amazed at how well uncle remembered and chuckled often as we turned the pages.

If you look at the reasons the roman empire fell, and you look at world events today, it gets scary. Influx of invaders, over taxation, over expansion, failing infrastructure, political infighting, division of power, lack of central leadership, political corruption, mass migration and loss of traditional values.
The eastern empire maintained a good while after the west fell, but eventually fell also.

We haven’t had trick or treaters in about 25 years, save a few invited for special bags of goodies. The old neighborhood was full of kids, all about the age of ours, so they all grew up and were not replaced, here in the country nobody bothers, faster to fill the bags in the crowded neighborhoods.

No trick or treaters here either, too country. We used to take ours into town, hit the developments. When we lived in a development over 20 yrs ago, we used to get around 100 kids. I would play scary music, and have the lights blink on and off. I also had a motion activated ghost, runs on a wire running down my porch.

Tonight I taught the bible class.

I did. The tornado warning was in her area and the circulation was where we used to live. The cold front passed here at 4:30 - just a few sprinkles here.

Good evening all. 60F for the start cloudy and moderate north wind. Rain began about 11:30AM and is likely done with about 1.2 inch in the rain gauge. Temps have been dropping all day and low is the current 51F. Today was another conservation of energy day. No trick or treaters, the subdivision had a trunk or treat last weekend.
