She's a runner! Got the old BMW motorcycle to fire up on the second button push yesterday, but not without some surprises along the way. Before I put fuel in the tank, I cranked the engine to make sure it had oil pressure, and lets just say you need oil to get pressure. And that led to other checks and adding oil to other areas that need it, too. Didn't notice the degree wheel on the timing light had shifted, so that was another mystery to be solved. But the new ignition had the correct amount of ****** for once, and once the carbs were somewhat balanced, the engine idled and revved freely. The double handful of insulation scraps that blew out the exhaust have me wondering if there might be more trapped in there, though. This morning I'll re-torque the cylinder heads and adjust the valves, then see if I can figure out why one of the valve covers is leaking. It'll be time for a short ride after that:cool2:

Congrats. When you give us updates on your projects, its like reading about a pregnant wife and just waiting for the kid to be born! Need a finished picture when you can.

Good evening all. 46F this morning, partly cloudy, calm wind. Wind stayed down all day, sky clouded up later in the day, and high temp of 65F. Choir practice to start and practice went well on the November songs, almost ready for prime time, starting work on December songs. The heavy dew messed with mowing plans, so went for bike ride instead. Nothing much else happened, trying tomake plans for wife's birthday that won't make her mad!!
RNG congrats on getting the old bike back together, going to sell the Zebra bike?

Somewhat frustrating morning.

Sun shining brightly shortly after posted this morning. Finished coffee and drove tractor up to the house for a quick pit stop and pouring by the time I got out. Put tractor back in shed.
Sun returned. Told wife if it stays out half hour i can still mow, just a different area. Back out to tractorshed at appropriate time. Opened door and about to climb on and rain starts again.
About 2 hours later, i turned to wife, sun shining and announce I can still get some done. Started raining before I finished conversation. I didnt try again. Tomorrow?

Sorry Randy and Buppies plan didn't work and the ladies are still under the weather.

Got a flu shot at Costco for BEF's birthday yesterday. Arm is sorer that usual. Put my wife and my names on the Shingrex waiting list. The pharmacist said about 150 people on the list and they get about 10 shots a week...so should be next year before we get called.

Ran around town doing other errands with my wife so didn't get my outdoor plans done. I did blow off the zero turn real well and put air in a front tire on the truck that seems to have a very slow leak....and much more frisbee and ball play with the dogs. Last day of dog sitting today.

Hawkeye, that's a great mower. I'd have better use for those "options" on my truck on I-95.

Good morning all, 50 going to 66 and sunny, Went grocery shopping and a few other errands, still need to mow just to make it look neat. Someone said I needed to dress yesterday, saw a man at the grocery in his PJ's, slippers and a big old coat. I would have been red faced going to the store like that.

Good morning. I am sat at home, waiting for a delivery of timber and unfortunately the wind is starting to rise. The 8' green oak sleepers that are coming won't be going anywhere however much it blows, but the thin 4' x 8' hardboard sheets on the same order will make a good sail if I'm not careful.

Kyle, I'm always fascinated by RNG's projects too - no matter how long or unpredictable the gestation period turns out to be :laughing:

a little warmer today, 42 going up to 71 in cloudy skies. I have a small field to bush hog, then need to start putting equipment away for the winter.
Headed to Massey dealer on Thursday to talk about a new 4707, see what I'd get on a trade for the larger Massey. I think if I put it out at the end of the lane, as shiny red as it is, it would sell quickly. Only question is whether to sell the five foot almost new Bush Hog with it; whatever I get will be a full size larger and I'd need a six or seven foot cutter. This is the enabler, a new style hitch adapter I hope will make this easier on me:

36F partly cloudy upper 40's for high shower later today.

Blow leaves for 1 1/2 hours last evening finally got one area clean,by the looks 4 BIG maples about ready give up their real soon.
After work if not raining cut clean up spruce tree...darkness arrives way to early now.
E muffin feed little critters slow roll to work.
