Good morning!!!!

Don't have any electric openers. Don't even have handles on the outside of the doors. Have to go in through the man door, and remove 2 slide bars on each door. Not taking any chances. As long as I can walk...they stay this way.

I certainly don't blame you for that. And if you look around my neighborhood, you'd find 10% or fewer people parking vehicles inside the garage. Most folks use their garage as a workshop/storage place. In my case, I have a 10' x 12' garden tool storage building in the corner of the back yard. And I have a workshop under the same roof as the house. I really like being able to get into and out of the cars without getting out in the heat/sun/cold/rain etc. To each, his own.

Low 20s in mornings, mid 50s in daytime, perhaps into 60s tomorrow. When we built our house in 1993 (started), we got it closed in during Oct, put shingles on first week of Nov. This time of year always reminds me of that time, coming home from work, having dinner and then working on house until midnight. Weekends, getting up and trying to get warmed up enough to work outside, long days...

I don't do it every time, but I'm trying to make a habit of flipping the little button on the garage door opener wall switches to disable them when I leave the house. What I'd really like to do is say something like "Hey Siri, I'm leaving the house" and have Siri turn off all the lights and HVAC, turn on the alarm system, and disable those doors. If I installed Homekit enabled AC wall switches on each of the opener power leads, I'd have everything but turning on the alarm system. Not sure I'm comfortable having that accessible over the Innernet.
While not everything works with SRI at our place. Alexa can lock and unlock our back door deadbolt. (August door lock) If I spent enough time I could hookup the Honeywell thermostat and Alarm system to work with some kind of voice command. I have not felt the need to have lights and wall plugs work with Alexa. But do have couple of remote switches to turn on lights in living room.

43°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 56° today. The expected rains for today have arrived, and look on radar like they may stick around awhile.

Lowe's contractor showed up yesterday morning and replaced the floor boards in about half the kitchen. He discovered that the offending boards weren't actually broken, but installed over uneven spots in the subfloor, causing them to droop at the joints in a few places. Their fix this time was to use felt to fill the low areas, then replace the boards. So far, so good. We ate pizza The Wife brought home at the "kitchen" table as it sat in the living room next to the piano, then moved the table and chairs, wine cabinet, and china cabinet back to their regular places. Even the boy helped.

I like your definition of "rural living," Don. I could drive the tractor into town for fuel, but the eight mile round trip would be a waste of time and fuel.

We still have the button remotes for our garage opener, and have one clipped to the visor in each vehicle ... even though we don't park the truck in there. We replaced the garage door recently, but kept the old Craftsman opener, as it still works just fine. We no longer have any access to the house from the garage, so that's not a worry for us.

I don't have anything as fancy as Ron has, but our 2017 Ford Escape Titanium has the button on the driver's sun visor to open the garage door, and when we got the car I was surprised at how easy it was to set it up with our Liftmaster door opener. Our 2012 Escape still has the old fashioned door opener clipped on the sun visor.

My Genie openers have been programmed to 6 different vehicles, HomeLink is the same regardless of vehicle.

42 and going to a high of 55F. Wind WSW 7 mph. A few showers is what they forecast.

I've got nothing planned for today, other than go back to the hardware store and get me a 1/2" drive extension.

I checked the engine filter on the Dodge yesterday and it is new. The cabin filter was a tad dirty, so that got changed. The engine filter is going for 40 bux + tax. In the future (next spring) I will get a K&N filter and just wash it once a year like I do for the Jeep.

Look what I saw yesterday at about 2:20 in the afternoon

I like those shelters. You mind saying again (if you already have) where you got them?

L4N - nice looking little fox. Send him to Texas Kyle has some chickens he might be interested in if the snakes and hawks don't eat them first.

Psssst, don't tell Don I put the grass snake near his door.

Careful with those K&N filters. Spend some time reading about filter efficiency and you'll learn that the K&N when freshly oiled lets in lots of particles large enough to prematurely wear out your engine. They actually filter better when dirty because the dirt blocks the big holes in 'em! And as far as the performance claims, the factory paper filter can pass far more air than the typical passenger car will ever need. I figure I can buy a LOT of factory air filters for what it costs for new valves and rings and bearings.

I've always told my friends that, "K&N air filters, if properly installed, will keep the gravel out."

Drew, hope your feeling better. I might go pay my idiot tax and buy 2 lottery tickets.....that way, I'll DOUBLE my odds of winning. :) If I win, I'll buy all my friends here in Good morning thread, an all expense paid trip/rendezvous to Waterloo Iowa, so we can all go tour the John Deere museum together.

Ron, glad you're better. I hope Betty has a good day too.

Eric, how much for one of the bigger homes in the new neighborhood? (I'm cringing.)

Everybody's staying busy it sounds. Hope you all have a blessed day.

Good Morning!!!! 58F @ 7:00AM. Sunny. High 84F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.

Hope all of you out there dealing with health issues make good progress back to wellness. With the cooling temps, everyone'll be spending more time cooped up together, and cold season will be in full swing. Time to get those flue shots, too, something I don't particularly look forward to...

The new Vehicle Speed Sensor from Canada showed up yesterday, and I installed it in time for my trip to town. The rev limiter still kicks in at 4000 RPM in 4th gear, which is right about 67 MPH. And no, PJ, that isn't fast enough around here to keep up with traffic, so I find a slow moving semi truck and tuck in behind him when I get to the freeway. So today I'm going to buy a OBD 2 code reader and find some software for the iPad and figure out what's going on. I suspect they sent me the wrong VSS, but without any way to measure what the EMU thinks is the vehicle speed, I'll never be able to proove it to the seller.:muttering:

Also need to learn how to adjust the transmission shift linkage, as it's difficult to get into first and second gear. Bad enough that it popped out of first a couple times yesterday, and I really hate the sound of grinding gears trying to get it back in...

But the bed liner sure looks nice on those bumpers!

TGIF gang!:drink:

RNG ..... What brand bed liner spray are you using?

I used a kit from Finishmaster, their SMART tintable bed liner. I like the fact that one kit could be used for both the white fiberglass pop top roof and the black bumpers. I even used some for undercoating. Used a Schutz gun to apply it, but it can also be put on with a brush or roller. Had I the bumpers to do over again, I'd add a little reducer to smooth out the texture a little, so that's another variable you can change to your liking.
