It was 24° this morning and partly cloudy. Yesterday was in the mid 50's and sunny for the most part. Today is going to be sunny this morning and increasing clouds this afternoon and windy 20-30 mph. They are saying a dry cold front is coming through and tomorrow's high will be 26°.

Helped the neighbor yesterday and got him on his way. Had to put a new 12 volt heated set in the side by side, they work pretty good for the cold mornings. Just wish they lasted longer then six months.

I don't have any plans for today. I'll see how it goes.

We got our first snow here in Central Illinois yesterday. I'm not ready. The chains aren't on the tractor and my wife said she isn't going to put them on! I don't think my six year old can do it so I guess it's up to me.

David, first thing I thought of, after the fact that you are already utilizing all that water that falls on your home,
was a great tractor project for you. Dig a pond to catch all that water, create a raceway, and then put in a micro
electric water turbine to charge your existing batteries and generate extra power during heavy rains.
Wouldn't that be a nice thought...when it's pouring cats and dogs, you can yell Honey look at all the money we are making!
That's what it says on the brochure.

spent a lovely few minutes in the hot tub giving it a wipe down after I had shock treated it.
skin started to itch so time to get out. No bugs on me! Bromine but I still smell like a swimming pool faintly.

Hot tub needed due to raking sticks and hauling all the garden hoses, sprinklers, etc down to barn for
cleaning and storage. About three hours of lugging heavy stuff, at least it was super nice out.

Not doing well with powerwashers. Loaned my electric one to friend after the recent flood.
And the handle pulled off the good gas one, with a Honda 390 engine. So no powerwashing until the new Honda
part comes in. Three price points. 15 bucks, 35 and 70. I took the middle one, figured that was likely the wholesale price for the
identical list price part, which is shown in Northern Tools catalog for 70. So I ordered the 35 dollar handle assembly. I must be catching an edge
of something when I pull, the cord looked new and not all that frayed.

Lovely day outside. All that good Canadian air.

NWS shows that one half to three quarters of an inch of rain is possible today. My gauge just passed the 2" mark and it's still raining.:laughing: And since the ground was already saturated, my yard looks like a swamp.

59° at 2:20, on a sunny day. Been a long time since it was this cool. The 8+ inches of rain from yesterday has soaked in nicely, still a lot in the streams and swamps though.

About to go watch the football game at my FIL's house. The "girls" have gone on a mall trip. I told them, "Don't get mauled."

Went to high school game last night. Our team won, but looked lethargic. Not sure where their spark has gone.

We have a severe weather alert and tornado watch going on in the counties just north of us until 6pm. Then it hits us. I pray the storms calm down a bunch.

Good morning all. Rain helped by strong gusts of wind has done it best to soak our firewood over night. No need to go lighting fires in woodburners though this morning, it was 18C/64F outside at 8am.

I have lots of hedge laying coming up this winter. Enjoyed doing it last year, but my right arm wasn't too impressed with all the pull starts on my Stihl chainsaw and I'm getting too old to do it all by hand tools, so thought I would give battery power a try and maybe apply to join the TBN EGO appreciation society. Sounds at first like a toy, but cut down these alder just the same as my 2 stroke.

I have the same saw...can't beat it for those smaller clearing jobs, limb trimming (annual requirement before mowing season) and such. Since I have other EGO products (string trimmer and leaf blower) I have three batteries but only one charger. I've been pretty impressed with the saw and trimmer...not so impressed with the leaf blower
