67 right now...high today about 80 or so.
Had our Labor Day weekend cookout yesterday...steaks for the girls (wife and stepdaughter) and I had my grilling favorite, Portobello mushrooms.
No plans today...just take it as it comes...maybe listen to some Guess Who!

I'm a big fan of Tommy James & the Shondells from Niles, Michigan. Plenty of hits.

Eric, I am a HUGE fan of the Who. Only saw them once in concert. So many great songs. Was really sad when John Entwistle passed away. One of the greatest bassist ever IMO.

91 out, just spent half an hour patrolling grounds with fire ant killer; rain last night
made them pop up like very unwanted guests. They all got dosed.
But the lawn has leaped up, only the fifth day since mowing and it looks overgrown.
Not very motivated to go outside, think a day of non entertaining rest is called for.
Thinking of a nap and then maybe some later afternoon mowing.

hope you are all enjoying some extra time off. Nothing like a long weekend
though the summer sure flew by.

Friends in Delaware got over five inches of rain in same system we had.

Good progress, but S L O W with bushhog yesterday. Aim for some more today.
Wife mentioned possibility of going to town for bunch. Will cut into today’s progress but she works hard and deserves it.

Got a shipping notice from Summit Racing that the ATF I ordered was coming via OnTrac, AKA LosTrac. Called 'em up this morning, couldn't get anywhere with the service agent so asked to speak with a manager. The manager issued another order to be shipped via UPS, and said he'd get the package back from OnTrac. Sure enough, few minutes later got another order confirmation for the same stuff, so fingers crossed I don't end up with two shipments at 20 quarts each.ullinghair:

I drained the oil in the truck Friday when I got back from town, so first thing yesterday I changed the filter and filled it back up. Always an anxious moment filling up the new filter with oil and crawling back under there without spilling any.


Assembled the complete exhaust system on the old bike yesterday, and drilled the last two holes needed to complete the muffler mount. It was too hot to start painting by then, so that's first thing on the agenda for today. Was gonna post a photo, but TBN is throwing permission errors this AM...

Since this is a three day weekend, does that make today Hump Day?:confused2:

Weæ±*e told that retail pricing for the Yamaha XTO 425 will start at $44,250 for the 25-inch shaft in right rotation and $45,185 in left rotation. The 30-inch shaft will retail for $45,000 (right) and $45,935 (left). The 35-inch model will be $46,120 (right) and $47,060 (left).
Ouch. About $100G for a pair.

Yup, and this boat had three of them....150 grand for motors is why a boat that doesn't seem very big costs 3/4 million smackeroos.

Standard issue now on the big center console boats is (5) 400 h.p. Outboards, but there are a few drug runners using up to (8) 350 or 400 Horse outboards. Of course those drug boats are a lot more than 8 beam. Google the pictures, some wild beasts!

88, dew point is 75, feels like 98. I’m ready for a break in this humidity.

Well, I’m being treated for temporal arteritis and a sinus infection, just in case, while waiting for the test results. Turns out I have shingles, one small area on the scalp and an eyelid and eyebrow. It became obvious yesterday. Can’t get up with doctor until Tuesday. Too late for the antivirals to do much at this point I suspect. So I guess I’ll ride it out. I have to finish the Z pack tomorrow and taper off the prednisone for the arteritis.

Mowed for two hours, couldn't stay inside on nice day, but that was all. Will finish tomorrow.
Showered and going to watch some movies and sip an iced coffee.

I was scheduled to start the two shot regimen next week, I’d had to wait because of the Prevnar 13 shot I got earlier. Doctor wanted me to take 6 weeks between them.

What a shame you couldn't get the shot sooner. My mom's surgery was delayed for a few weeks for her shingles.

It’s aggravating, but not as severe so far as a lot of people describe. Some pain and burning, not a real large area of rash, at least so far.

Good evening all. 77F this morning, partly cloudy, calm wind. Wind was maybe 10-18, sky was clouding up and high temp of 92F. Went to Chapel this morning, Wife asked for pancakes this morning due to 41 anniversary, delivered meals, put registration numbers on boat, and wife and I took in a part of a concert at the lodge tonight.

Randy sorry about your health issues, especially the shingles. When the wife got shingles, she had the vaccine, and doc said it was less intense and less duration. Hope yours follow suit.

We have some very gentle rain falling this morning. The swallows are lining up on the fence and chatting to one another, as if discussing if it's time to leave us and start their journey to South Africa. That must be an incredible first adventure for those born this year.
