Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #81,141
real downpour last night, almost two inches of rain.
I just knew if i ran the sprinkler in the garden this would happen...

up early, fresh fruit salad made, kitchen finished cleaning up from last night.
Oh my did we have a good dinner if I may say so myself. Garlic, butter and white wine cooked fresh ocean scallops and shrimp we bought
at the docks yesterday. My friends remarked, this shrimp has no smell at all. Yup...not what you get in the supermarket.
But the scallops were awesome, $14 a pound for large scallops, just delicious. We ate so much we couldn't do dessert.
Extra large shrimp between 5 and 6 dollars a pound.

I asked the fish lady why the shrimp was so cheap, same price as four years ago. (thinking about Farmer's chickens and the price of chicken never going up) and she sort of groaned and said competition from overseas. Didn't look like these fishermen were real flush, this is hard work for not much money. We brought home extra shrimp and froze it.

Made a take home goody bag for my friends, including leftover candy grapes. Had never heard of them until I saw them in the store. The most amazingly sweet grapes I've ever had, talk about bioengineering the "sweet gene". My buddy has a sweet tooth and better he eat grapes than something with white sugar in it. Also packed a bottle of Eastern Carolina barbecue sauce, the peppery vinegary stuff so prevalent here. And lastly, I gave them the two largest sweet potatoes that we dug up yesterday. Now that was fun, never done sweet potatoes, some were large and oddly twisted around, some looked like my red regular potatoes. But I bet all good. Now that the garden is soft from the rain, I'll start digging up more.

Hope you all have a nice Sunday. I'm definitely planning on a nap today.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 70° with rain this morning. Heading to 88° with rain most of the day. Still recovering from yesterday's project. It got a lot hotter than forecast yesterday. Should have postponed that part of job until a cooler day. Going to sons place for the day. BBQ ribs on the menu.

Finally found how to get Spell Check to work in Chrome. Google moved the setting from Settings to right click on the Text box for a PC.

Buppies, like your music choices. Mine is just as spread. Johnny Cash to Chicago. But when telling Alexa what to play it mostly 70's. I married a young girl that liked mostly the same music as I do. Something has gone wrong. She now likes Hip Hop. We play most of our music on Echo these days. But since she can no longer speak clear enough for Alexa to respond I have total control. Now I know why she likes to drive her car. Most of the stations are Hip Hop.

Don, we visited Salado a few years ago. I think those same items where on display then.

Prayers for those in need.

Good Morning All.

Drew, thanks for the tour.
How Much Does the New Yamaha 425 Cost?
We’re told that retail pricing for the Yamaha XTO 425 will start at $44,250 for the 25-inch shaft in right rotation and $45,185 in left rotation. The 30-inch shaft will retail for $45,000 (right) and $45,935 (left). The 35-inch model will be $46,120 (right) and $47,060 (left).
Ouch. About $100G for a pair.

Yup, and this boat had three of them....150 grand for motors is why a boat that doesn't seem very big costs 3/4 million smackeroos.
Monopoly money numbers for me...........

David, really like your new avatar.

Why do boat motors cost so much more than truck/auto motors?

I noticed a lot of trees this week changing colors already, especially the tuliptrees, tupelo, sassafras and sweetgum. Lots of leaves on the ground, too.

68 high of 88 today 1/4 in of rain yesterday at home nothing down south just heat and humidity

As far as music I’m still in the 60s and 70s mostly have not evolved from there too much. Nice to hear others choices. Although I do listen to a lot of jazz only not when driving long hair music I suppose from people most have never heard of like Stanley Jordan

Prayers for all

Wngsprd law of supply and demand I would guess and the demand for more power. Outboards easier on emissions and less maintaince although two 200s would be enough in my book and only $30000 for the pair

I'll tell you how much I listen to the car radio. Yesterday, I was sitting in the car waiting for my wife, and decided to turn the radio on. And then I had a devil of a time remembering how to turn it off.

Good morning. Low of 50°, going up to 72° with a good chance of t-storms. Nice that the temps have finally come down.

Nice to hear that the leaves are starting to change. It has always been a favorite time of the year for me when I lived back east. Used to admire all the fall colors. Only get a little bit of color here from the Aspen trees dotted in the tall pines. Only lasts a couple of weeks.

Outside in a little bit to finish trimming and get some mowing done. Then maybe some maintenance of the equipment.

Everyone have a great day. Prayers sent out.

74° here this morning and forecast shows high of 87°. Whuuu? This is first day, since back in June, that wasn’t expected to be 90’s or 100’s. The chance of no rain has been reduced to 20% today and 40% for early part of this week. Sure could use some nice soaking rains. Both tanks down by about 2’.

The hummingbirds finally showed up, in numbers, this morning. I’d seen the odd single a few times, since I put feeder up a bit over two weeks ago.

This morning about 6 showed up. They’d dog fight for a couple of minutes, feed for a minute, then back to their dog fight.

Planning to finish mowing around house this morning then tractor maintenance.

Prayers to all in need.

It takes me only a few minutes to change the clock radios in my vehicles. Open glove compartment, find the manual, look it up.

Need to get a backhoe for one. Now that is REAL fun.

never realised their was another rock group called The Guess Who and with the wonderful anything-anytime-you-want internet, have been listening to a few of their tracks while making breakfast.

I liked the Guess Who a lot...still do and have a number of their CD's. Got one in the truck right now (either "Best of" or "Rocking", I think). Burton Cummings, the lead singer, is still rockin'!

67 right now...high today about 80 or so.
Had our Labor Day weekend cookout yesterday...steaks for the girls (wife and stepdaughter) and I had my grilling favorite, Portobello mushrooms.
No plans today...just take it as it comes...maybe listen to some Guess Who!

It was 37° this morning, yesterday was in in the high 70's and sunny. Today is going to be about the same, they don't show any rain for a few days.

Not much planned for today.

Hope everyone has a nice Sunday.
CWB.

Yep, I do that twice a year. Both vehicles are very simple AFTER I look up the instructions in the manual.

Why do boat motors cost so much more than truck/auto motors?

Good question. Let me know if you find out. Maybe because the engines are "turned on their ear"??? $46,000 will buy you a pretty nice truck with a V8 engine similar to the marine motor.

The money men will spend to get away from their wives.....unless their wives like fishing!

Drew, that is cheap for shrimp. I won't eat foreign shrimp if I can help it. Too much pollution and who knows what, when farmed....

Good large shrimp like that at the supermarket here are about $8-9

Just finally killed one of the pecan thieves here. It's been raiding for days. We only have a few dozen pecans left on our 12 year old trees.

Might take the family swimming to a spring fed grotto/pool/creek today. The Texas gov't entity in charge, just released info about how most all the creeks around Austin have fecal coli-form in them. Dogs, alternative lifestyles, and homeless people is what the radio guys were guessing the cause.

Go time for church in a bit.
Have a blessed day all and prayers.
