Good morning!!!!

Another hot day here too.
Busy morning, dentist first, then breakfast with friends, then drop off some freshly pulled carrots (atomic red) to the food pantry, carrots a little woodier and dry than I would like but still good. Also three packages of mixed okra, not a big week but after all those potatoes, I can slow down a bit...

okra is fun to pick. I'll think something isn't quite long enough in the morning and by evening it will be fully grown. Amazing growth rates. I have two varieties of green and two varieties of red so this is very colorful. Must be picked every day, everyone lectures me to cut it small.

72 going to 97 with Feds issuing Heat Advisory.

Early dentist appointment for me, too.

Drew, are those red carrots in that photo?

yes, Atomic Red

Okay, thanks...somehow I missed reading that in your first paragraph...too busy thinking about okra, I guess. And to answer your question yesterday, I usually play Frisbee with Coco every morning before or at sunrise.

Good morning! Hitting 102˚ today, yesterday was 101˚. Comparing highs it looks like I have moved to a hotter location. The gulf breeze keeps Galveston in the low 90s but by the time the breeze gets here the land heats it up 10˚, but the humidity is less so it actually feels better.
Shelves to add in the utility room and caulking outside are on the list today/this week. For fun spinning classes start, first Horticulture meeting today (the club that has a tractor) and I need to make a decision on repairing my "vintage" bike or getting a new one. The roads are so smooth and dust free and wide here here, I have to take advantage of them. They are extra wide so the golf carts and bikes can use one side. Mostly has me motivated, maybe by Fall we can start comparing miles and times.

This huge neighborhood has small neighborhoods inside it. They were numbered as they were built. The lower the number the older the homes. They are now building neighborhood # 80. Each of the neighborhood has between 15 and 150 houses and each neighborhood is like its own small little town with a entrance from the major streets. Each neighborhood has events, clubs, newsletters and email notifications of important information and deaths. Everyone is very friendly and while in the larger cities you barely know a few neighbors everyone here seems like a cousin.

Still trying to figure out a new avatar . . . . . .

Drew, your turnips are shaped funny.

edit: todays high 104˚ tomorrow 105˚, before heat index.

Good morning all, 70 going to 93 with fog then a 20%chance of T-storms. Got up late and had some quiet time, took trash out to the curb and worked in the garage a bit and remembered Good Morning. Had a quiet day yesterday and hope to get some work done in the garage. We will see.

Hope and pray everyone is doing better and does not get to hot. Have a great day. Ed

Ed, show us your first project. I have no knowledge of what a mill can do or make.

Good morning all,

70 going to 98 with Heat Index of 105.

Well yesterday was fun. With the heat and humidity, I was in full sun mode working on the run-in. Actually burned my butt, well right above the butt, across my lower hips. Made the mistake of taking my shirt off, which was soaked. As were my pants, socks, underwear.... you get the picture. Drank 10 bottles of water and four gatorades. Yes, it was hot and humid. LOL.

Guess from now on I need to - keep pants up, keep shirt on, or use sun screen. Or don't do projects anymore, especially those requiring bend-overs. LOL.

I never burn, but then again, my lower, lower back don't usually see the sun.

Got a lot done, almost all framed out now. Just need to frame up the floor and work on the roof pitch.

Other than that, I watched the grass wilt.

Have a great day all, be safe.

Good morning.
Another hot day down south. The AC systems now run incessantly.
Had an eventful weekend. My cousin came in for a visit. Lots of food and fishing. My friend gave me a couple wild pigs. There are few things more American macho than barbecuing a wild pig on the weekend of the Fourth.
On Saturday, had to come out and help bail out a boat to keep it from sinking. A young father, an inexperienced boater, took two sons out on the lake and their new boat was taking water. The children were scared out of their mind. I learned two things:
1. An inexperienced boater should never take a child out on the water, let alone two.
2. A chocolate cupcake can calm a panicking child in 30 seconds.

I also dug up my rainbow eucalyptus tree and turned it into a bonsai. I planted it 1 1/2 years ago. It grew to 10 ft tall but then died back from the hard freeze last winter. I decided that I don't want to keep nursing a tree through a freeze anymore so I turned it into a bonsai. That way I can take it inside when it is too cold.
