Roy, I can just hear the crash of that grill. And I'm sure a comment like "that wasn't nice" occurred...hope you get a wonderful steak or something grilled for the 4th.

Well, I'm ex-military (Navy, as most of you know), and sometime I can make R. Lee Ermey (in "Full Metal Jacket") sound like a choir boy

Hope Andrew is doing ok, always enjoy hearing from him.
Not like many of us are going to make it to Croatia.
or New Zealand.
but maybe, just maybe, to Shropshire..

If you made it down here you wouldn't be complaining of the heat. Going out for Friday's bike wide it was 1.4°C. Rode in a geothermal area with steam coming out of holes in the ground right next to the pathway.

Randy, thanks for the pics, my first car was a 65 chevy wagon. Got it when I was 13 and drove it on the farm. Wrecked it when the 3 speed on the column locked up and I looked down to see what was going on and the car in front of me stopped. Just had gotten my license so I did not have it on the road long. July already.

2nd anniv of my mom passing.

Called dad last night, he raked hay, rolled 1st bale and couldnt tie, apparently no power. Hard to troubleshoot from 300 miles away, and he cant hear half of what i say.

Another hot one.

75 this morning and headed to 90 today. Heat index 105. 50%rain next 2 days then clear for 2 days then rain for 4.

Doctor released me last Tuesday back to doing whatever I want. Eat anything that doesn’t bother me. But in the 3 weeks since the gallbladder surgery I’ve managed to loose 5 pounds. I know not great but progress. Currently fighting a sinus infection. Had to stop allergy shots because of surgery. Haven’t resumed them yet.

Out to cut hay this morning. After chickens are walked. If Dad makes it I’ll probably let him cut and then I’ll run the Tedder a couple of hours behind him. Might bale tomorrow that way.

I’m envious of all the clean shops. Anyone with spare time is welcome to share. .

It's like 75 and we should be touching 100 today. Ground is too wet to mow, so I will do it this evening.

wngsprd, yesterday while working on the run-in, yeah, grief for mid-day work, I noticed lots of planes in the air. Counted at least 10 with contrails. The one that got me looking up is our local DHS scheduled landing, who seemed off course. LOL. Which is why I looked up. LOL.
I thought back to 911 when I remember seeing nothing in the air for days.

Anyway, back to the run-in today. Loading up on water and gatorade again. Hope to finish the side framing today, well that is the goal.

You all stay cool today. I hopped in my pool last evening for the first time this year. Unfortunate I was alone. No fun, but refreshing.

Have a great day all, be safe.

Riptides/Mike, we are all pulling for you. Sounds like you've been to the moon and back and understand social media is not appropriate here.
Just get better. You and your wife get extra prayers today.

Good Morning!!!! 82F @ 7:00AM. Sunny. High near 100F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

Thanks for sharing the Chevelle pics, Randy. Got to hear a nice one running when I went to breakfast in town on Thursday. Looking forward to the El Camino pics, another favorite of mine.

Congrats on your first mill project, Ed. You can bet they'll be many more just like it. Sure beats drilling side-by-side holes and trying to file them into a slot, huh?

Not much of a cool down last night and I'm not sure I'll make it out to the garage at all today. Only lasted a bit more than an hour yesterday, then came in for a drink of water that turned into a nice nap.

Lasted as long as a beer on the back porch last night, and noticed a huge smoke cloud from one of the fires almost 100 miles to the south. One grew to 8000 acres in only 24 hours, the other is up to almost 14,000 and growing rapidly again!

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend.

It was a tad cooler this morning 37*, the high yesterday was 71*. Today the high is forecasted to be around 80* with 15-25 mph wind and clear skies.

daugen ... There isn't a lot of snow on the Uinta Mountains on the Utah side. Not sure about the rest of Wyoming. But we only got about 75% of the snow pack this year. We have been cooler then then the rest of the country.

Worked on the trailer some and sprayed weeds. Then about 7 o'clock I got a call from one of the neighbors that one of her goats was having a baby. She is out of town and her 19 year old granddaughter is there taking care of the animals. She asked me if I could help her granddaughter with the goat. I was raised in the city so don't have any experience with this kind of thing. It was a learning experience, the bad part was that it was still born. We tried for 15 min to revive it but to no luck. I guess I'm not to old to learn things.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday.
CWB.

Good morning to all! Low of 60 this morning at 05:00, going up to low 90's. There is a slight chance of a t-storm (10%), probably won't get one.

Got my full trailer to the dump, came back and loaded it up again. This time with all the wood scraps, cabinet doors, and mounding / trim. Drove it over to the neighbors place and they weren't home (probably went out to dinner). That will be first on my the list today, then reload another trailer load of cabinets and more wood scraps for them.

Lenny, again, nice garage / shop. Looks good getting organized.

Randy, the 72 Chevy SS was my favorite. Closest I ever came to owning one was my BIL's. He was willing to sell it to me in '78 for $1500. My father talked me out of it. I ended up buying a '68 firebird instead for $900. Always regretted it. Wish I could get anything in that year range for those prices now!

Mostly, congrats on a successful ride.

Drew, you have a beautiful place, from the pics you have posted. It seems that you go out and mow everyday. I posted a while back how I was "missing" cutting grass / lawn. If I had a lawn I would have to keep it as well manicured as you do....I'm now getting second thoughts about my wishes....

Everyone have a great relaxing day. Prayers out for all in need.

I can still see smoke from the County fire 100 miles to the south of here, and people are saying that the glow from the flames could be seen last night. That fire started only yesterday.

The Pawnee Fire has caused many evacuations and has closed CA 20, a major east/west highway between the Northern Sacramento Valley and the Pacific Coast.

And here's a satellite image of the County Fire taken last night. It's now at 16.500 acres.

67°F and 0 rain last 24 hours.

Lenny, that’s pretty impressive. Wish I were making such progress.
That said, I am glad I decided to paint as I go.

Congrats Ed on making your 1st piece. That’s a skill I know nothing about.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

David and RNG, Nothing precision about the job I did but it did not need to be and I had fun learning/getting used to the mill. Have a long way to go. Looking forward to finishing this and starting the next, what ever that is.

David, Looks great, lot of work in those pics.

Everyone seams to be working hard but I am taking it easy. Ed

Got a handle made and installed on wife’s car. Made parts out of HDPE plastic. Bandsaw and table router did the job. Back inside watching NASCAR race.

Saw an ad on TV that ACE will deliver an assembled BBQ grill free for the 4th.

90 degrees or so, right now. No more work outside or in the garage today...
Grill's set up and ready to go...
The pressure washer was a very easy assembly job...it was most assembled in the box.
Since I was pretty impressed with the Pulsar 10kW generator , I thought I'd see what they had in gas powered pressure washers:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Pulsar-...asher-with-Electric-Start-PWG2700VE/302693261
The electric start is great and the battery has a charger that came with the unit. I guess 2700 psi should take care of most the jobs I'll be doing. Now, is this unit comparable to a Dewalt or other high end brand...well, no experience with those, but my guess is the high end units are better...but also twice the price

Didn’t get the metal working class in HS due to moving but was always interested. Never had a need that justified the investment unlike my wood tools. A few years back my good friend sold his mill and lathe, old, good stuff. I secretly hoped it would languish a bit on CL and I could bargain to a price I could justify, but alas they sold very very quickly.

As for the cleanup. I remind myself they didn’t get in such bad shape overnight so it’s gonna take time to fix. Not that makes it more pleasant. LOL
