Good morning! 77˚ heading to the high 90s. Sunny.

A neighbor walking his dog when we were walking Whipper let his dog get too close to Whipper. We warned him that Whipper was in an adjustment period but. . . Whipper struck like a snake - a quick nip - missed the little dog but he got the message. She is still adjusting, and her class, by the community dog whisperer, to be sociable starts next week.

Today I citify my '08 pickup - Wash off the manure, take off the dirty seat covers, clean out the dog hair, and get all the bugs off the front bumper.

Had the second flat of the week but this time on the Subaru. Tread was in the almost danger zone so discount tire prorated my 60K tire that I got only 35K miles on and with their $100 rebate this weekend got a decent deal on a full set of new tires.

I'm also looking for a ceiling exhaust fan for the garage to the attic to draw the hot air out of the garage.

Compost bin is activated after the concrete slab came in and was installed. Bin is brown and looks like a big ceramic pot. Not quite like the 4' cut off culvert in the country, sigh.

Rip, prayers for you and wife.

The low this morning is a little cooler 39*, the high yesterday was only in the high 60's. Today is going to be partly cloudy and in the mid 70's for the high. They show the temperature back in the 90's by the middle of the week and no rain.

Not sure what the plans are for today. Probably work on the trailer some more and keep up on the things around here.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.
CWB.

Good morning to all! Nice cool start to the morning at 62*, going up to 92. Windy this morning with gusts up to 35. Everything has a coating of brown dust, can't go outside without getting a mouthful of dirt! Very slight chance of a shower, we really need one.

Buppies, prayers sent for your continued healing.

Ron, it's amazing how PT brings back capabilities that were lost over time without even realizing it.

Randy, have fun at the car show, stay cool.

Drew, working like you do, everyday, in the heat, should help you break the 175# mark....take extreme care, that heat will sneak up on you!

Lenny, can we move into your shop building? Looks awesome. You will have a great shop when you get it all together.

Mostly, I got tired just thinking about your ride....let alone doing it in 100* heat....

Ed, let us know about the quality of the tap and die set. I am tired of buying cheap sets that work only a couple of times.

Riptides, extra prayers out to you and the Mrs. I hope all works out for you. We are all pulling for you!

Going to the dump today, then going to clean out an 8x12 shed that is packed with a bunch of scrap poplar and red oak boards, plus misc. doors, cabinet doors, and probably some some stuff I don't even remember. I have promised myself not to keep any scrap less than 2 feet long. (I started thinking about making kindling out of the shorter scrap but talked myself out of that). I know there is about ten 12' pieces of 6" hardwood crown molding...tried giving them away and no one wanted to take them...going to get cut in half and dumped...oh well.

Praying for everyone, have a great weekend.

80 degrees this morning, going for 98. I just finished mowing, edging, and trimming all of our yard, and mowed the front yard next door. And that was after I worked a long time with the Hoover Steam Vac trying the clean the front seat on the car where my wife dumped a cup of coffee yesterday. So it had 12 hour to dry and get set. I guess the only good thing is that she doesn't use cream or sugar.

69°F and only .06 inches rain. A beautiful sunshiny day.

Paint job looks good, but wish I had used a drop cloth. Now some floor clean up before I can put that area back together.
Pace yourself Mostly

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Riptides, glad to hear from you. Prayers for the wife.

Very few have got their hay cut here, too much rain. Everyone is way behind.

Slept in this morning. Hot one today. Mowed a little. Guy delivered mulch that my wife ordered. Mixed up, sprayed more weed spray.

Dog sitting for a friend. Took her out back to go, and neighbour dogs saw her and came running over. Glad it went well, door locked behind me, and had to go around front to get back in.

Very little air moving, put a fan on front porch.

Good Morning!!!! 95 @ 11:45AM. Sunny. High 99F. Winds N at 10 to 15 mph.

The predicted winds and low humidity are here, and I'm keeping an ear open for the sound of circling aircraft signaling a wildfire. Hope it doesn't come to that, but there are fires springing up all over the state.

Some 40 years ago, Ed, I purchased a Craftsman SAE tap and die set, and it's still going strong. My metric taps and dies have been purchased on an as needed basis, many from McMaster-Carr, but since I use them much less often, the jury is still out on durability. I also have a few of the Vermont brand from the local hardware store, and so far they've done everything I've asked of them.

I remember doing a double century out of Lima, Ohio one summer. Temps were in the 90s during the day, but very refreshing 70s at night. Both my riding partner and I suffered leg cramps from not drinking enough water (back before Gatorade was even invented). Don't think I'd be tempted to try a century these days, especially if the temps were what you'll see, Mostly. Take care and listen to your body.

The power to the house went off a few minutes after I posted yesterday morning, so I went to town and had breakfast and ran some errands. Dropped by the mechanic's around 11AM, but the place was locked up tighter than a drum. A fellow in the next unit said "they don't start working 'till the afternoon, then work into the night.". I replied that the problem is that "they" just don't work at all.

Still dealing with computer glitches from the power outage as I find them. Seems to happen every time the power goes off, requiring resets or reloads of the software. After all these years, it seems the stuff still hasn't reached the dependability of the old land line phone system, but even Ma Bell isn't what she used to be. Progress? I think not.

I only lasted a half hour on the patio yesterday evening in the 95 degree temperatures. I was in the shade, with a nice breeze and a cool beverage, but as soon as the glass went dry I headed in for the evening. Gonna try to spend a little time in the garage, but I'm guessing I'll soon switch to inside jobs to take advantage of the A/C. It'll get a good workout over the next couple of days.

Hope everyone takes it easy in the heat!
