Drew, just looking for a bigger operator station, hydro, etc... don’t want a much bigger machine. I don’t have space between holly grove and some buildings for anything wider than about 4 ft.
Got mowing done yesterday, went to the cruise in, had dinner at BWW, sold the tractor in between and still got home about 8:30. We had some showers and a thunderstorm later last night .37 inches.

It was 73 degrees here at 5:07 a.m. CDT, the Summer Equinox and longest day of the year. Feels like it’s been summer for two months already.

We did get a total of 4 1/2” of rain over past two days which was more than welcome. We’d only had two 1/4” rains over the prior 60 days.

The 2 1/2” on Tuesday just soaked in but, the additional 2” we received yesterday, raised level of both tanks by about 5-6”.

Now if the County Judge will see fit to dismiss the Burn Bans?

Hope all of you have an excellent day!

69 this morning and headed to 80. Rain currently which we needed. More later today.

Bird. Sorry to hear about your daughter. Hopefully they’ll get her better.

Raked up about 40 bales of hay yesterday. The view from my office.

Also worked in the garden yesterday. Made some real progress. I’m slowly catching up. Did get corn side dressed before this rain so it should green up and grow. Told wife if it didn’t rain today we were going to need to get the sprinklers out.
Need to get chickens ready to migrate tomorrow. Then run some errands. Hopefully cut the hay on the last farm next week. If weather forecast holds.

I can just see Frank and Jessie riding over those hills!

44* for the low this morning, yesterday was nicer then I thought it would be. It was in the mid 70's and not as much wind as they said we would have. Today is going to be about the same.

Got most of the water shed painted, only have the trim left to do. I'll work on that today after we get back from town.

Bird... Wishing your daughter the best.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Another hot day in SC; maybe some Tstorms later today.

Ron- Good luck with the veterinarian. I hope your dog's growth can be easily/painlessly removed.

Bird- I hope the docs can help your daughter.

Randy- Good luck with the tractor search. Do you have any brand/model in mind?

Lenny- Thanks for sharing your bed story. My wife and I like the Bennington, VT area. We are actually planning to meet a longterm friend there in the near future for lunch. There are/were a few decent restaurants in the area.

Lou- It's hot down here. Our 7 hour drive from MD to SC took 11 hours due to all the highway construction delays on I85. I wish you safe travels.

I hope that all the ailing knees are on the mend.

David- I hope that you and Sophie remain out of harm's way. It seems the general (mainland) public is losing interest in the volcano as it is no longer "news worthy."

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all and everyone has a manageable day.

72°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 82° today. So far, I'm liking the first day of Summer this year. High forecast for tomorrow is supposed to be 77°. We'll take it.

Great bed story, Lenny.

Nice view you have there, Farmer. Looks like a wonderful place. Never been to Western KY, but your view looks similar to Southern IL and Eastern MO (not surprisingly).

Have fun with the tractor shopping, Randy.

We have two of those Workmate benched that have been indispensable while we are benchless. We both had one before we got married. One generally stays at the house, and the other in the barn.

Volcano is still very big news locally. The flow looks like a raging river on some of the newscasts. Hearing more and more about the financial/ economic impact.
Some in our Happy Hour group are looking to do the helicopter overflight. Not cheap, but maybe a once in a lifetime opportunity.

I’ve still got a Workmate I bought in 1971, when I was restoring an 1880’s house in Richmond. It was my very first WB after I was discharged from USAF active duty.

Like someone else mentioned, I’ve got a piece of 3/4” plywood, about 2’ x 3’ with a 2x4 cleat on bottom to clamp in the Workmate jaws.

Portable and handy. I still use it pretty often.

My grandfather remodeled up there in 1947. During that time they redid the roof. He hoisted that up on a rope and pulley and placed it while the roof was open! And when they wanted to bring it down in the 50s, it was discovered it wouldn't fit!

I had an eye doctor appointment this morning at 10:40 a.m. Busy office today, so he was an hour late. And they dilate my eyes, so when I came out about noon . . . WOW! Fortunately, I have good sunglasses! And I don't think I'll do anything more today that requires going outside.
