Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #77,661
these are French fingerling potatoes, a fine haul today along with some Yukon Golds and blue potatoes, aka purple potatoes. Not enough big ones so I decided to tuck everything back in
and watered them all heavily, and will wait another week before final dig on the raised garden near the house. All the rest of the potatoes in the potato patch are getting disc'd tomorrow.
4 passes got most of the taters, though I will stop after the first pass of the disc harrow to pick up the inevitable extra ten pounds or so brought up. Tomorrow's forecast is 99, not going out in that in an open tractor if I don't have to. Whatever red potatoes are still there can sit there a few more days until the weather cools off.

I was hoping to go out now after dinner but it's still in the 90's
and I'm just not that motivated. My book sounds better.

Wet and warm down south. Temp is the 90's. Rain is also in the forecast.

Spent the weekend in Florida with my siblings celebrating my dad's 90th birthday. While we had a great time, it saddens me to see my father's deteriorating health even with the best of care we can give him.

Came home to the sad news that one of my long time friend has just passed. He will be missed.

Reading other posts around here, y'all are putting me to shame with all your work. While you are out there feeding the world, I'm still struggling with getting my tractor fixed.

Have a great day all.

Has anyone heard anything about RIP, RS, or freedomlives?

Sorry about your friend Cajun. When a good friend of mine died in his late 30's from an aneurysm, I started writing an epitaph, to give to his daughter someday. But I wanted to wait until she was at least out of high school. So, every time I would remember a funny or important thing about him, I'd jot it down in a word file I kept on my computer. She was only 8 when he passed. So when she was in college (10-11 years later), I asked her mom if I could take her for a long drive to the beach and talk to her about her dad. Mom said OK. As we reminisced, we both laughed, and cried, and laughed. And she had a lot of adult questions about him. I tried to give the PG-17 version. There was bonding, healing and closure that came from it. It was good for both of us, we stopped and got a chocolate malt from the best place in town. She finished her BS, and is now working on her masters.

Farmer, I'm guessing your wifey got on the tiller so you could heal! Mine would laugh at me if I told her to go "Man" the tiller. Don't blow a gasket or a stitch talking like rs does to your workers, even though they need it.

Don, maybe you could start a flea circus on that bench? Or do you have to share half of it with your wifey???

Nice taters Drew. Are you firming up gardening plans with sub-notes for next year?

So this storm that is in the Gulf of Texas is rotating like a TS, but too close to gain any momentum. And besides the storms that are drowning the TX/La border, we aren't getting JACK SQUAT of rain.....But it has cooled down the days with lots of billowy clouds, with a tease of precipitation.

LS, I'm sorry about your knee. Tell your trainee he will have to wheel you around for days and do all the farm work you had planned.....

300, we have had our rescue female chihuahua for a year now. She has gone from 6-8 pounds. I told my daughters she wants to grow up to be a big dog someday. A professional beggar for food.

APB for rip and freedomlives....rs is in fine form in the mudpit.

OK Ya'll have shamed me into getting a larger work bench. I was thinking of one that could be rolled around and have tool storage drawers underneath it. Help me spend money, which one to get? 4-5 feet long preferably. A wood top where I could attach a vice to would be a plus. Any suggestions?

I would put it on a pulley system with 4 cables that you could lower down from the ceiling.

Or possibly a solid ping pong table that folds up and rolls away. (You could shore it up a bit underneath.) And use it to have ping pong tournaments at Don's house!

I've struggled to understand what was said quite a few times when giving tech support to one particular company in Ireland. Some of our engineers would almost hide under their desk to avoid taking the call. The Irish lot were great though, always had time for a laugh, even when they were having major problems.

Rick, dae ye no ken fit they say ? My Aunt Cath (not really an aunt, just a lovely lady who lived next door when I was growing up) came from Banff, which is a small coastal town just above Aberdeen. Did you visit there ? That area seemed to be much more remote in the days before oil was discovered and it's good to hear your friends were doing their best to keep that regional dialect going strong. If I could choose any voice for my car's sat nav, it would be that of a soft yet clearly spoken Scottish lady.

Eric, our Aberdeen Office was actually up in Dyce, near the airport. First time I went to Aberdeen, when our first offshore rigs were arriving in the N. Sea. I stayed at the Skean Dhu hotel. Hotel name was taken from the sgian-dubh, a small hidden knife. Being 1/4 Scot, 1/4 Irish, 1/2 Swede .......I have a nice sgian-dubh that I was presented when I departed after nearly 4 years.

When our rigs arrived, they generally came to Peterhead, to be prepared to go drill. Several times, I departed Peterhead and drove on up the A90 to Fraserburgh, then the A98 thru Banff to Fochaburs and the A96 back to Aberdeen.

Good evening all. 77F this morning, some clouds, light breeze and .7 in of rain in gauge. Late morning it clouded up like rain was on the way, but none fell today, wind was up and down and high temp was 91F with lots of humidity. Choir practice this morning, check success of work consulting and tried to put boat test ride back in motion. Had to change bikes, but 10-speed not ready so change to Trek after first lap. after lunch made follow up phone call to marina and made more progress on test ride. 15 minutes with ten speed and it acts like it is ready to go, test ride tomorrow. No nap today
Don might consider joining biker group and be able to learn more gear, techniques for training, and general encouragement. Sounds like your move is going smoothly.
Have read through june 16 hope to get caught up in a day or 2.
Prayers for all.

You could put a nice 10 gallon aquarium on it. I see a plug for the pump.

That should clutter that bench for a while. :)

The fish could watch the ping pong tournament.

Don, I bought two of HF’s tool cabinets and installed a Home Depot 10’ Formica counter top on them. The rollers are pretty good and lots of storage. Maybe a single for you?

44 in. x 22 In. Double Bank Red Roller Cabinet

Or maybe this one?

46 in. Mobile Storage Cabinet with Wood Top
