The PO coughed up oven gas valve and thermocouple as expected so I got to play appliance repairman today. Happy to say that after performing safety checks it fired right up. Wife will be using to roast some chicken tomorrow. Mmmmmm

Good evening all. 72F for the start, calm wind and partly cloudy sky. Sky cleared up, wind was moderate, and high temp was 96F. Day started with cleaning lady prep, then bike ride then dog sitting. Also helped the wife clean the screened in back porch. It is getting hot enough, it is a challenge to work more than half a day :)
Kyle, nice sauce, I bet it tastes much better than the store stuff!
Claye, Sorry about you wife's accident prayers for her recovery.
Drew nice taters and have fun at dinner. Don't feel like you have to outdo Randy :D
PJ nice stack
Prayers for all.

Good evening to everyone! Kinda weird posting this late...seems like everything is backwards :confused2:
Got up to 87 today, low of 52 at 06:00 this morning. Still dry, dry, dry. Humidity has only been 5-6%. Sweat evaporates before it can begin to cool you. Nice breeze at 10-15 is helping it feel cooler out in the sun.

Worked outside all day with the wifey cutting a 6' high picket fence down to 3'. We initially put it in about 9 years ago as a windbreak, but the plantings behind it now grew well over the height of the fence. We were going to take it down completely, but wifey thought it would look nice as a "white picket fence". Well I definitely like it lower, but not looking forward to painting 400' of picket fence...I don't care what color it is!

Welcome to lightleader...great group of guys here that you will learn a lot from. Please add some more info about yourself in your profile, such as location, tractors, etc...

Jay, guess I never updated my 'status' about work... Had a setback a couple of weeks ago in PT. Ortho doc pulled 65cc of fluid off the knee and suspended PT for a week. When we had a follow up appt, he authorized return to light duty starting next week, and another assessment for July 9th. This past week has been rough, PT is suspended again, this time by PT therapist, again due to severe swelling and decreased ROM. He wants release from ortho doc in order to continue PT. I put a call in to them last Friday...still no return call as of today. As you can tell by what I was doing outside today, the attitude is now "SC*** THIS!". I need to get back to work and take care of things on the home front. Let things fall as they may.

Claye, sorry to hear about the wife. I hope she can get 'fixed' quickly and start the healing process.

BEF, man that is a bummer about the axle... Don't think I have ever seen a rider break an axle like that.. Hopefully won't be too expensive to fix. Seems like stuff like that ends up costing about half of what a whole new tractor would cost....oh, I see that plan...:D

Drew, you amaze me everyday when I see the pics you post... I sure hope the folks at the pantry realize how much work you are doing. God bless you my friend!

Kyle, boy does that look good! Wifey told me already not to get any ideas...:licking::thumbsup:

Anyway, time for bed now...additional prayers out for new needs.

Sitting here with Ellen st daughter and son in law’s house. She called me at 1 AM, that’s never good. Ronnie is having numbness and tingling in arms and hands. He’s 39/40 can’t remember which. They are gone to emergency room.
Prayers are appreciated.

Scary stuff Randy, hope the checkup isn't too serious. Prayers made and sent.

72 out, another warm day with thunderstorms. Somewhat desperate to get orchard sprayed but with showers every day that's
not in the cards. Next week the forecast is much drier, have to be patient.

Was so embarrassed by big weeds popping out of potato patch, in some cases six feet tall, all the same weed, that I got a little inspiration.
Can't pull them out, they pull out potatoes with them. So....got my Makita cordless hedge trimmer, and just walked down the rows and gave the whole thing a serious hair cut. 200% improvement. It's a war on weeds and I'm using all my big guns...

need to run some errands downtown, then back to mowing, weeding and hoeing.

BEF, bummer on the axle. If that rear axle is less than one inch in diameter...but who knows, they could have done a poor job heat treating it.
I'm guessing 400 in parts, 300 labor. Got a spare mower?...

72 with very heavy air outside...going to 82 and more storms.

CWB, hope wife is not in too much pain...what a freak accident.

Randy, please give an update. Prayers said.

Kyle, nice that you made sauce with your daughter...that makes it worth the effort.

BEF, Which new mower had you already picked out when you broke your Husq? :)

Still soggy outside, so took wife to allergy shot, Costco run, and pizza, and then roasted coffee and played Frisbee and tennis ball. Sounds like a retiree day :).
