Maybe some good rain mid week on at least that's what's supposed to happen

Good evening all. 67F this morning, mostly clear and calm. Wind waited to about 10 to start to increase, and sky clear and high temp 83F. Went for bike ride this morning, helped wife wash screens on the back porch and went to town for haircut, gas, and dinner.
Bird good news on your eye sight.!!
PJ nice wall.
Prayers for all

55 right now...high...well, not so high...mid-to upper 50's.

End of the work week!

You win you got the first potato. How big is it?

a perfect two incher. I'm surprised actually they are this big, flowers still on plants.
Yeah, I thought of zooming in....:D Wow, it's as big as my house!
Yours are likely larger underneath the ground.

I'm going to say summer is starting today. Every day in the forecast in high 80's or low 90's.
And the latter half of next week shows a lot of rain. Within reason, I'll take all I can get...

Helping ladies of Garden Club unload truckloads of herbs and flowers for a plant sale today. I was supposed to have
tomatoes and peppers for this but as reported they all almost expired in the sun. Looking garden over yesterday, I'd say that 90 percent of those plants
did not look good at all after transplanting, about a third died, and the rest are now doing fine. I'm going to have a lot of tomatoes and peppers, at least a hundred plants growing
of each. So that's good. Means I have to get moving and get some twine hung between the poles to do a "weave" on the tomatoes.

This afternoon I hope to finally get on the Super A and do some corn cultivating. I should do more hand hoeing but need to mix in some "fun stuff" with
that hard work. The absolute worst is when I nick a corn stalk with the sharp edge of the hoe and that's all she wrote, end of corn.
Pleased to see that dozens of Hale Jumbo cantaloupe plants are coming up. If I can keep the critters out of that area, going to have lots of melons. Maybe.
Never grown a melon in my life so this is all trial and error. Plus beets and carrots are now coming up, well there's a line of something there.

Is it a weed? Or is it Memorex? (talk about a successful jingle way back when)
Today if you asked someone, other than a musician..., what Memorex was they would probably
guess it was a pill for senior memory boost...

Good morning all, 63 this morning going to 81 with a 30% chance of showers. No plans for today, will see what comes. Hoping for a nap. Need to add a few inches of water to the pool and see how much it is still leaking.

Drew, good eating size! Memorex memory boost, there are three signs that you are getting old. The first is you start forgetting things and I forget the other two.

Prayers sent for those in need, Have a great day. Ed

Looks like now the race is to see who gets the biggest potato. I'll wait a few more weeks before I harvest.

Do they even have jingles anymore? All I see is commercials about prescription drugs and while they are telling of the side effects that can be mind altering or destroy your internal organs they have nice music and show people having a good time.

71˚ too dark too early.

Drew, good eating size!
That's just what I was thinking Ed....maybe not big ones for the food pantry
but some nice small ones for me.
Or as some online video says, pick them early for nice juicy potatoes.
Juicy potatoes. Not exactly how I would describe them but that little red potato
actually felt damp it had so much moisture in it. I think that last three inch rain plus my fertilizer
made this guy bulk up quickly.

I normally wait until the plant looks almost dead.
Maybe I'll pull up one of the largest plants and see what's underneath.
Good idea Ed.

I have not 1 but 2 wascally wabbits running around my back yard/garden. Need to take them out. Anyone eat cottontail anymore?

Soon the fish in my top pond will be getting the occasional rabbit for a treat. To make things more entertaining for children (of all ages), the rabbit goes into a bucket with holes in the bottom, then all it takes is a few eager flies to start off the protein conversion.

Not recommended for ponds that are close and upwind of a house !

Forecasters were correct, wind is much stronger today. I took notice of them yesterday and got a fair bit of the weed spraying for nettles done in the afternoon. With wetter weather coming for the weekend I have probably now lost the opportunity to spray and the rest will be up above waist height in no time, just have to cut them for now and tackle the regrowth later.

Very good news bird. Riptides, your life is always a rollercoaster, hope things can go steady for a while.

Wng, so you made your poor old ride on do all that work yesterday after emergency surgery, despite the new zero turn coming today! I didn't think you were the sort of person to inflict that on a faithful old mower, just to give a few extra days to polish and admire the new one before coating it in grass clippings  Look forward to seeing the pics.

26 and going to a high of 50, mainly sunny. Wind 0.
We got sunny for the next 5 days.Summer has arrived!

Geeze, some of you guys are picking spuds and mine haven't even gone into the ground yet!

Out back where we never go in winter the frost was 3' down. The dog got buried 5' down. It took me about 30 minutes to dig the hole and another 30 to fill it back up.

Bird, that is fantastic news!

When I was 2, I was 'clinically blind'. Glasses fixed that, though. so I do know what the alternative is like.
It is no picnic.

Car tire kicking today. I have 8 picked to check out, ranging in price from $10,900.oo (abused) to $60,000.oo (new). All from the same dealer.

Happy Friday all

Reminds me I need to get the bb gun and take it with me to the garden.
Pumped up fully, it will do a hurting on the rear end of a rabbit.
Want to associate pain with garden, some good training...

My .22 with a scope would be the permanent solution but I'm not there yet.
Woe to any critter than actually chomps something good in my garden.
This afternoon I am patching holes in the plastic netting. My bad for waiting this long.
Kyle, tastes like chicken.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 40° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 50° with rain in afternoon. Put out last of the 450 lbs of bird feed I bought this winter. They will have to wait until October for me to put anymore out. Sandhill Crane has made it daily stop. Got lawn cut yesterday after dentist visit. 1 hour in the chair with mouth forced open farther than it should be. Got repairs and a filling. No Crown. Looks like I will continue to be a Pauper. No plans for today yet.

Bird, good news on eyes.

Buppies glad back is healing.

Drew, that is the right size potato to rinse off with a garden hose and eat raw.

Roy, it will not be a 5 minute job to assemble the chipper. My guess it will take a six pack. :D

WNG, easy fix. You getting rid of it?

Looking, good luck car shopping.

ED, hope you find the leak soon.

Payers for all in need.

Good Morning All.

58 outside this AM. Going to low eighties today. I think groundhog work and grass cutting is on order when the fog burns off. Use to eat hassenpeffer that is rabbit all the time in my day. Friends bred them just for eating.

Have a great day all. Good fortunes and be safe.

Good morning guys, I’m sitting on the bed thinking boy, that shower stall is translucent, not opaque, and I ain’t telling!

80’s to 90 for the next 7 days. Hope you all feel well and have great weekend.
Wngsprd, pictures of new mower ASAP.

56 and foggy going to 83. Had another rain come through last night so total was .60 inch...very nice and the garden suffered no damage from the thunderstorm wind. :)

Ron, hope your mouth is feeling better.

Eric, pond looks great. At first reading I thought the rabbit was alive...wondered how you kept in the bucket.

Old mower will stay here as long as it still works and doesn't require much $$ to keep running. It has a 4 ft deck...new zero has 5 foot deck and ROPS, so waiting to see if places I won't be able to mow with it.
