Well, the chipper is home!

I have to put the 3PH components back on the tractor and rig the ballast box, then pull it off the truck. I'll start assembling the chipper tomorrow. Definitely looking forward to getting it operational!

Good news Roy, mine went together fine. Did have another set of hands,

Yeah, our long lost RS returns and am sure sorry you got carved up. Likely means you are healthier now, let's hope!
I had to look up that long procedure on Mayo's site. Yes, roto rooter.
Now the hard part. The diet change...

still hot out, 87 with heat index of 92. Enjoying the A/c.

Had a busy day getting the new Zero turn going. First had to replace the bathroom exhaust fan motor. Then the delivery truck arrived and unloaded it...I signed the papers, paid the driver for it, and shot the breeze for a minute or two.

I decided to be prudent and check the fluids...hydraulic fluid was low...checked the manual to make sure I had done it right: briefly idled it, lowered deck, parked it level, etc. but the fluid was just not reaching the minimum mark. Had to go to town anyway...they were real nice and gave me a gallon jug of Super UDT2. The manual says it can take a while for the fluid to flow/seep into all areas, so checking and topping may be expected...added less than a pint and that seemed to do the trick...but I put cardboard under it tonight to check for a leak, just in case.

Didn't have a chance to really run it and mow with it until 5pm. Wow, what a difference from my old mower...so fast and smooth and a very nice cut. The seat is very comfortable. I had to move my tractor right after driving the zero turn. The tractor seat, which used to seem so comfy, felt like a wooden bench in comparison. If this new mower lasts 14 years like my old mower, it will likely outlast my ability to still be out there mowing. But it was so much fun driving it that I may try.

I had decided I wanted to go diesel, and get a 60 inch mower. I shopped around, but really liked what Kubota offered, and bought the ZD 1021. The local dealer had the best deal and "threw in" a lift kit, but they had to order it and bring it out next week to install...should make easier mower maintenance by cranking up the front end.

Really like it so far.

Greetings GM’ers ...

Looks like spring has arrived here finally ... everything is blooming.

Just got home from the hospital where I got the Roto-Rooter treatment yesterday morning and had a carotid endarterectomy done on my left carotid artery.

Exciting stuff to be sure ...

As much as we bicker and call each other names, I truly hope for a speedy and full recovery. I hope you get more energy back, but I've heard the recovery is a biggie and takes time. I'd be interested to hear how your doing on a day to day basis.

Bird, glad you got good news on your eyes.

Bupps, hope and prayers headed your way.

Rip, prayers for your wifey.

Ed and David, your wifey's too.

Randy, you keep getting better too. You gonna ask that beautiful lady for her hand??? (you don't have to answer that just yet)....

All these shiny new mowers! Nice. You guys are going to spoil yourselves. Whatever happened to old school "reel" push mowers???

Eric, I'm not sure I want to turn the rabbits into maggot food, but I am at loss as to what to do with them if I take care of them. My wife says she doesn't want to cook/eat them.....

My daughter pulled up about 10 of the 15 potato plants she planted. We have never had any luck prior to this. In the past we got beautiful green plants, but no decent potatoes....so she's pretty proud of herself. We did NOT buy planting seed stock, we had some new potatoes that just started "eyeing" and budding out and we just planted all 15 of them whole. No prep other than they had greened up and started budding.

Good deal! I’ve got 20 hours on my 1211 now and very happy.

By lift kit, I’m assuming you mean deck lift? The 1211 and 1511 come standard with deck lift and you’ll like having that.

OK, so here it is 10:15 PM and for the second night in a row, four shots ring out from my crazy neighbor's property. It's at least a 9mm, too fast to be a revolver. Last night it was an hour later, but what the heck are they shooting at in the pitch dark? Hope upon hope, maybe they're taking each other out. But all the ruckus has me wondering if I'm next.

   / Good morning!!!! #75,915
65 going to 93. Had a surprise storm come through last night, but only about a tenth of an inch of rain.

RS, good to have you back again. Please stick around...and please get well.

RNG, stay safe!

Buppies, glad you are healing and had a good time with your wife...quite a trip up to Staunton from your place...if you found a great restaurant, would love to hear about it. Did you go to the Shakespeare theatre?

BEF, that tiller did a nice job on your garden. We planted ours last week, and all the seeds are germinating now, but no corn.

Have a lot of family coming in today for a Mother's Day and birthday cookout and outdoor games. Hope today's 93 isn't a humid one. Yesterday hit 88 and wasn't too bad.

After a chilly windy day yesterday that ended with me lighting the woodburner in the evening, this morning is off to a much better start. The only thing that's keeping me inside is that I'm waiting to take delivery of a new router that our broadband supplier claims will take our download speeds up into double digits. They have run fibre up to a distribution box on the road, then it's on to phone cable for the last half mile. We will see ...

RS. Good to hear you survived. Whatever you thought of Don's diet before, it must now be way up there on the priority list of changes that can keep you having fun fabricating.

Wng, I've seen Kubotas with lots of WARNING stickers before, but your new machine probably now holds the world record - did they add one to be careful not to fall asleep while mowing in that soooo comfy seat. Z-turn zzzzzzzz... :)

Good morning all. 59 this morning going to 90 with some wind so that will help it feel not so hot, I hope. Hope to find the specs to adjust the valves on the JD LA 145 riding mower. Hope to get it going and sell it as well, unless anyone wants to trade their new zero turn for it. I'll even throw in the snow blade and bagger.:) Have a good weekend, Prayers sent for Buppies, Randy, wives and children. Ed

RNG, keep your head down, prayers sent.

I think it is a Kubota paint saving initiative. :)

Yeah, our long lost RS returns and am sure sorry you got carved up.
Yeah thanks ... I've got probably an 8" incision that runs from behind my ear down to my collarbone.

I think I'm actually more sore from being intubated and from whatever they used to hold the incision open while they worked than from the cut itself.

Likely means you are healthier now, let's hope!
Hopefully less chance of me stroking out anyways

The initial ultrasound estimated that my left carotid was between 69% - 99% blocked. After the surgery, the surgeon said it was over 97% blocked.

Blockage was twice as long as he expected (3" - 4" vs. 2") ... and was the consistency of toothpaste.

I had to look up that long procedure on Mayo's site. Yes, roto rooter.
LOL ... yup.

Now the hard part. The diet change...
The real problem likely isn't the diet - it's the smoking ... and yeah, it is hard.

I had a bunch of blood work done about a month ago - including kidney and liver function tests - everything looked fine except for my LDL cholesterol ... and it was only marginally high - 102 (100 is the number it should be below, down around 70 would be ideal)

And the reason for that number being as high as it was could have been twofold:

Not always consistent in taking my meds,

Had Half and Half in my morning coffee the day I had the tests done.

still hot out, 87 with heat index of 92. Enjoying the A/c.
Haven't had much warm weather here ... just starting to turn nice.

Sounds like you have all the outdoor activities in high gear ... I'm 500 posts behind here so it will take me a bit to get caught up.

Enjoy the AC !

   / Good morning!!!! #75,920
93 degrees here today, and I have to spend the morning with the Garden Club ladies selling plants down by the River.
Hopefully I can slip out quietly after an hour or two and come home to finally get on the Super A and cultivate the corn.
Never got to it yesterday, got so sick of looking at weeds I brought in the best weed control device I own, a weedeater and I buzzed
it all down so garden now looks respectable. Without weed killer, I was just re-hoeing the weeds. Lot easier to run the weedeater, just have to be careful with it.

Really nice mower Billie. Should really save you some time and be more comfortable.

RS, Buppies, others healing, feel better today and don't overdo it.

My weight keeps dropping, yeah, now at 206, have wanted to hit 200 in, well, forever...
Still have too much flab around the middle and maybe that will partly melt off in this heat. ;)
