Whole house filters, easy to get off Amazon and your plumber should install easily. We use the 20 inch Big Blue housings

Drew, am I correct in remembering that you replaced a bathroom fan and found a nice quiet one? If so, do you remember the brand? I have one that is making a grinding noise, and will check it out, but likely just replace it once I take it down.
I used panasonic. Very quiet. Could install most from underneath, had to go in attic to remove old fan.

David- I really like your inline filters set up. I think you mentioned your setup previously. Are you filtering out specific water impurities? Your water must be pretty "pure."

Our filter system is a basic set up with a bypass.

Faucet vs tap somewhat interchangeable since I grew up. BUT
Always a faucet in the store and on my beer keg it’s a tap

A water tap here is a connection to a water main.

So update:
Seeing a light vog over the horizon. Have noticed a whiff of something different in the air from time to time but nothing heavy or persistent. Not a hydrogen sulfide odor, but a tad acrid and goes away. Had worse when one of my neighbors burns in his wood stove. TV wx people mentioned possibility of acid rain but not so far. Unless wind changes significantly we shouldn’t have a problem.

David- Thanks for the pictures and response. Now it makes a lot of sense. I am assuming that you have a cistern or other means of water storage. setup Thanks
