Good morning!!!!

Good morning to all! Low of 50, going up to 74. Sunny, no precip at all, not even a chance, next 7 days.

Buppies, hope you get well soon!

Rick, you had me on that story, I was thinking I was learning something, then it hit me LOL!

Wing, when we were on our well, we had the same thing happen whenever the well would be shut off. Installed a large, but simple / standard sediment filter in the first 'in' pipe coming from the well. Sure a lot easier to change 1 filter. Each filter lasted 6+ months.

Plans for today is to finish machining out the backside of some wheel spacers to fit the hubs on the tractor. If the knee feels ok, maybe put them on. No big rush.

Everyone have a great day! Prayers out.

56 going to 76...no rain here until maybe late. Need it.

Rick, I got a good laugh at your story.

Our well water is very good, but on rare occasion some silt and tiny sand will make its way into the house...it used to be after only the most enormous rain of the year, but I fixed that problem. Now it seems it has only occurred twice in many years, each time after a power outage, which we had a couple of days ago. It doesn't happen after most power outages, but it did yesterday...clay silt clogged the screen/aerator in the kitchen sink, and the washing machine...so spent a couple of hours taking the screens off every sink and shower, both hoses on the washer, and washed and scrubbed with vinegar for good measure. It only affected the cold water line, but I'm sure the bottom of the hot water tank had some sediment. I'll drain it soon. Think I need a whole house filter?

Lots of sun this morning, too hot to be out in the yard with hammer and chisel ( well, that's my excuse), instead there are plenty of jobs to do in the shade.

Our Grillo mower has been reluctant to start recently, only this time it is probably not another safety interlock contact as there is a good "clack" as the starter relay closes, yet no sound from the starter motor and the battery voltage hardly dips. I shorted the relay and it started ok, so likely to be the relay contacts. Tried to get it out late yesterday afternoon and got frustrated by the Italian design - great styling, but as I've discovered before, only intended for someone with smaller hands than me to work on.

:)

Did you realise that comprising mostly of fat, the density of mayonnaise is almost identical to that of an iceberg ? Unlike rick's tale, "Fatbergs" really do lurk beneath the surface. I don't know of any that have sunk famous ships, though this monster one caused a lot of trouble last year - maybe you should finish breakfast before watching this

Monster 13-tonne fatberg blocks London sewer - YouTube

I am not watching the fatberg video....

My guess is the Grillo has succumbed to the bit of moisture you all have over there. Maybe it is rusted inside.

We call the spigot for a keg of beer a tap. I would know what you're referring to, but Ron is right. If you go to the store, you will have to ask for a faucet, being a kitchen or bathroom lavoratory faucet (some still say lavoratory around here).

wngsprd, a whole house filter would probably be a great thing for you. I also recommend a good UV light system for suspect water systems.

My three filter whole house system lasts a year, costs about 200 bucks for the very large filters, and easy to do.
Now no chlorine taste at all, less mineral deposits from water, a real winner in my mind.

Geez that fatberg thing is remarkable. What a depiction of human impact on the Earth...as well as the floating sea of plastic in the Pacific.
We've been chucking stuff out the window, like in the Middle Ages, for far too long.
and witnessing the steady procession of morons who chuck whole dinner container fulls of McDonald's trash on my roadside, looks
like we're not there yet.

Just think, you too could have mini fatbergs... and I'm not talking about the pipes to the street.

It was 39* for the low this morning, it made it into the mid 70's, it was mostly sunny. Today is going to be back in the 70's and overcast skies with the wind picking up to 15-20 mph in the afternoon.

The humming birds showed up yesterday. They must of been here last year, they went right to the spot that I hang the feeders. I'm not sure about putting the feeders out because, I'm pretty sure we are not done with freezing temperatures.

One of the neighbors wants me to fix her fence. She said that some trees have fallen and landed on it. I'll have a look at that and see what needs to be done.

Have a nice Sunday.
CWB.

Coffee done. Ready for church.

Forecaster says very little chance of rain next week. Here we go. Typical Giddings/Atacoma dry season ahead.

Good morning everyone.

A 50F showery start to the morning; and it looks like intermittent showers the rest of the day with temperatures reaching the high 50F's. A good day to drink more coffee and putter around with the "house work." Wifey appears to be settling into her new role as Director of Housekeeping Services quite easily. :(

Eric- Thanks for sharing the "fatberg." Cleaning restaurant's "grease pit" (if they have one) is one of the more stomach churning job tasks. I wonder just how many fatbergs are floating around inside Brumberg? I'll get a better idea next month. I am still tweaking the insulins.

Dave and Sophie I hope that you two are still out of harm's way.

Buppies- I hope you heal quickly. Tubes exiting or entering one's body are never a good thing. Good luck with the surgery.

Rick- You had me to the end.:)

Ted- Take care of your MCL.

Wngsprd- We had problems with well water grit/silt buildup in all our faucet aerators until we installed a central house water filter similar to Buppies' and Ted's. We have had no problems since. I installed a secondary water filter in the cold water line going into our washing machine afterwards and have never had to change that filter. I have a 5micron filter and change it when the water flow starts decreasing ~ every 2 years. I am considering going to a 3 micron filter when I run out of 5 micron filters.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all.

I hope everyone has a decent day today.

Buppies, hope you are feeling better. Sounds like you've been in some pain and are sure going through it.
Best wishes for a fast recovery.

Am looking forward to going out after lunch and picking peas. Have to do it every day or they get too long.
The hiders get to be four inches or more when I finally find them and an inch wide. So the daily haul is a mix of
mostly mediums with a few where were you hidings.
I'll dry off the rolling tractor seat and go rolling, rolling rolling....

67°F and no rain. Good to see some sunshine. The grass is loving it.

Our Kīlauea event continues, at least 5 houses reported as destroyed. Nothing new for us as the quakes have been in the small range, around 2.

Nothing major planned for the day.

Prayers for all.
Be safe
Have a great day

Glad you are safe. My wife and I were amazed at your pool photo.

Drew, am I correct in remembering that you replaced a bathroom fan and found a nice quiet one? If so, do you remember the brand? I have one that is making a grinding noise, and will check it out, but likely just replace it once I take it down.
