Good morning!!!!

Need a second cup of coffee. 21° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 38° with mostly sunny skies. Off to PT again this morning. Then? I have not looked at the list yet today.

RNG, I cannot find info that says the 980 takes video. I sure would like that option.
For others here is a link to all the features of their current models. I want at least the clean pattern that RNG posted. We have a 650 model. 3 years old doing 3 rooms. No problems. We have a non shedding dog. But do get long tail hairs caught in brushes.
Edit, looks like link to compare does not work. You need to go down to middle of page a click on Compare.

Prayers for those in need.

Good Morning All.

a cold 28 degrees on the thermometer this morning, that won't be well received in the garden...over 200 beets planted and I think they
are toast. Thankfully I have another tray of 200 plus to plant, held them back to plant next week. Today I expect to plant carrots with the push seeder. The seed plate for carrots looks too "big" for those tiny seeds but I can't plant 2000 carrots one at a time with a dibble. Yesterday I raked the seedbed smooth, and tomorrow it's going to rain, so good time to plant.

No wind this morning. First time for that in quite a few days.
That will make it feel warmer outside at least.

Wng, after a day of living like a caveman, did you start to feel the urge to paint pictures on the walls ? In centuries to come, will someone look up at your ceiling and see the outline of a pickup with a line down one side, being cared for by the great solar healers ? :)

After one day without power, you only think of making fire and finding water...day 2 you think of painting the walls, and day three you chip a local rock into a wheel. :)

Just saw this morning that many folks in our coop will not get their power restored until Wednesday (up around Greene, Madison and Rappahannock counties for you guys that travel those routes along or across the mountain).

30 and clear and breezy going to 51.

Need to cut firewood up from a few trees I cut down last week, and split some I cut 2 weeks ago.

Wife heading to parents in NC to take dad to doctor, so she made a nice pot of stew last night to tide me over and my son, his wife and dogs came over and brought me some new coffees to try. I vacuumed the whole house before they came, so may look into that Roomba. RNG, why the blank areas?

8 and searching for a high of 28 Wind N7 mph. Partly sunny today.
The next 4 days looks good with snow on Tuesday and Wednesday and flurries the next two.
We've had our warmup and back into the freeze so maybe most of the bugs have been killed off. One can only hope.

Regarding brains, I used to eat a lot of head cheese as a kid....I liked it, but hated Brussels sprouts. Now I eat a lot of sprouts and avoid head cheese.

Eric, you need to give our American friends the recipe for mushy peas.

For you 'health food' guys; I heard somewhere that oatmeal was good for cholesterol. Is there any truth to that?

As for 'friendly politics', I stay away from discussing religion or politics, I find that is a good way to make enemies out of friends.

I gotta go to the PO today and mail out my tax paperwork to the accountant.

I will call my tractor dealer tomorrow and get him to email me a quote to supply and install a backhoe with thumb on my Kioti. While he is at it he can change all the filters on a separate work order along with the pick up and delivery. He can put the pick up and delivery in the quote, too. I will pay him separately for that and the filters.

Have a good and safe day all

Beta vulgaris This wholesome vegetable is doubly heart-healthy. The sweet, delicious roots contain high levels of glycine betaine. This phytochemical compound fights platelet clots and plaque formation in the arteries. Along with a wealth of potassium, calcium and vitamin A, hearty beet greens are rich in fiber, which may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.

this was great to read.

this was not....
• Transplanting not recommended as it can damage the tap root

one planting guide says transplant, another says not to. At this point I'm going with the not to's...

I don't think there is really any thing good for cholesterol, your body needs it and your liver makes as much as it needs. I just don't add any extra artery clogging animal cholesterol to my diet. I don't consider myself to eat heathy food just regular food in it whole form that doesn't have cholesterol or added fats.

Eric does Mushy peas include butter or brains?

Don, I do appreciate your concern for what we all eat, but you really don't have to worry about me ever eating brains again, not even if they were air fired into crisps. :)

Or tenderized in an InstaPot!

RNG, why the blank areas?

Furniture. Kitchen table, couch and coffee table in great room, washer/dryer in laundry room, beds in bedroom (beds have VW parts or drawers under 'em). That image also shows where the box the Roomba came in was sitting before it made its way out to the garage.

Blank areas were missed on that rotation and it goes there next charge cycle. This according to one site I found.

Drew, I wish the wind were down here, still in the teens. And don’t count on the end of 20s until the last of theses nor’easters is gone, at least middle of next week.

Thanks for the heads up, Don. I got the 980. I figured if the most advanced model wasn't capable of cleaning well, I'd just send it back. If I'd have opted for a different model, I'd still be wondering and that would have meant a return and replace cycle. I also wanted the WiFi connectivity and Cleaning Map function, which lets me see where and when the Roomba cleaned. Here's an example:
View attachment 542587

Green shows the places it cleaned, white where it missed. There's a tiny home icon at top center to show where the docking station is located (not sure why there are two), and the red "!" is where it got stuck under the coat tree. It ran for about four and a half hours to cover that much area. I'm not sure if that's straight running time or if it includes one 90 minute recharge cycle.

There's a video camera on it, too, but I'm still trying to figure out how to access the images. There's prolly an app for that...:confused2:

RNG, you can rent your machine out to draw up new voting districts in Illinois?

Good Morning!!!! 38F @ 5:45AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 59F. Winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph.

That's great you found something for your cough, Ed. Nothing worse than going through the day feeling like a zombie because you can't sleep at night.

Poked around at the iRobot web site yesterday looking for the Cleaning Maps, but apparently they're only available using an app. To post the one I shared yesterday, I had to email it to myself from the iPad, after taking a screenshot of it. Bit of a PITA, but then how many times will I need to share Cleaning Maps with thousands of my best TBN friends? But it does point out that having a smart phone or pad is necessary to use the mapping feature, and if you have neither, one of the less advanced units makes a whole lot more sense. Oh, and the 980 does have a camera, as well as "cliff sensors" on the bottom. The maintenance procedures say they require cleaning frequently, and from all the dust that's accumulated on the Roomba after only two days, I can see why. I can say it's worth it, though, as walking up to the woodstove in my bare feet this morning, I didn't step on anything painful as is usually the case.

Rigged an LED telltale for the high beam in the old motorcycle's headlight shell yesterday. While digging around in one of the storage cabinets, I discovered that the dust bag on my belt sander had partially disintegrated. When I moved it, very fine sawdust went everywhere. Dragged the shop vac over, which promptly clogged the hose twice cleaning up the mess, all the while blowing a fine coating of sawdust throughout the garage. I'm surprised it didn't trip the smoke alarm. Checked the filter in the vac, and it was fine, so I think I finally found the last straw with this one and will be looking into something that works better and has much better tool storage. Every time I move this one, one or more of the attachments goes skittering across the floor, usually to disappear under something heavy.

Monday again already! Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

Shhhhhhh! If the politicians get wind of your plan, Rick, they'll pass a law outlawing Cleaning Maps so they can continue with their gerrymandering practices unhindered.
